Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 As soon as Bert dropped an almighty hint I stuck a ton on, could only get evens though. Surprised you got evens, he's been odds on since last friday! Good lad, brave.
Salieri Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Ouch. I'm still praying for Billy Davies so my bet pays out I also had a fiver on MON at 16/1 and £4 on Di Matteo at 25/1.
Salieri Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Surprised you got evens, he's been odds on since last friday! Good lad, brave. I had to act quick and lump on as much as I could afford (to lose). It was only VC left with evens, the rest were odds on. Haven't told the missus yet, might just keep it quiet despite (hopefully) winning.
Cubbyben Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 With some people the owners can't win. If they employed a 'big name' people would kick off, when it looked like Clark was coming people kicked off. I personally would of preferred a couple of different managers but nobody can criticise them for getting a guy back who was doing a very good job here. Also wise to remember that they had nothing to do with him leaving.
BCFCAndrew Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Surprised you got evens, he's been odds on since last friday! Good lad, brave. £20 at 25/1 when he wasnt even being considered !! C/mon on Nigel!! just go back!
cc_star Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I keep seeing people saying that he wasn't the owners first choice, that they wanted someone more high profile "a name". Well nobody knows who was or wasn't first choice. What we do know is that the day after Sven was sacked the owners didn't say they wanted a name or someone to promote the club. They said "We want a manager who knows / has experience in this league, and can motivate the players". So who fits that bill? Hughes... no. Keane... no. Clark... no. O'Neill... yes and no because it was a long time ago. OGS... no. Jones... experience yes. A motivator, I wouldn't say so. Davies... yes. Pearson... yes. So, I would say they have got exactly the type of manager they actually said they wanted. No guess work needed here, it was their words. I concur.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Don't even get me started on that. And especially don't get me started on rock formations being taught as 'Geography'. Geology/geomorphology? Did it at college

Babylon Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Keane won this league Babs I know... but I wouldn't class him as particularly motivational going off comments of past players. Which is why he got a NO!
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I stuck 500 on at 2-7 last night, just before everyone stopped taking bets, praying this actually goes through now!!
ithuriel Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Ah, time for a happy dance, phew, getting too old for that
mhewitt3 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I remember exactly where I was the minute it was announced that he left us for Hull and I remember feeling sick. Really could not believe what was happening and hoped it was a joke but as the day went on I realised it wasn't. No matter how many times I checked my phone hoping for a mistake there was not one. I really could not sleep that night and it kept running round in my head why he would leave for Hull, I was totally gutted and moped around for days. I am a fairly proud man and don’t like to show to much emotion but it really got to me. Don’t think I had ever felt that way about a manager before, not even MON all those years back as I think he had taken us as far as he could where as Pearson had unfinished business. HE IS the right man for this great club and if appointed we need to get behind him and the team. I really loved Sven and the way he dealt with the media etc but he was not a real "Leicester Manager". Pearson is and he will bring success and will make us all proud to be LCFC supporters again after the recent merry-go-round and media circus. He will get back to basics and make football the priority.

mhewitt3 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Sort of I suppose ha ha. Looking forward to being able to sleep again.

Happy Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I was flabergasted that Pearson left, and then when it came to light about Mad Mandy and Hoos the c**t old tricks I was very
Daggers Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Haha yes, I went to both of those. Cheltenham were like a non-league team and Walsall were absolutely knackered and injury ravaged from having played Leeds two or three days earlier. You don't half spout piffle at times. It wasn't so much the Saddlers were bad – though they weren't good – it was a case of Leicester being a class apart A widely-held view from those who actually watched both of the matches.
Trickyfox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 below is a statement from NP At the time, Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric said they had "reluctantly" allowed Pearson to move on. But Pearson added: "When you're on holiday and you find out that the consortium that subsequently takes over [the club] has been shown round while you're the manager and you don't know anything about it, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what's happening. Why would he want to come back?????? At least NP will have his blue eyes boys back.... King and Wellens, who I both think could not be bothered to play for sven and caused a little unrest... Rubbish appointment.....
somebum Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I'm sure there is a coherent point to your rant but I am struggling to find it..?

flowwolf Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Well at least now we won't get relegated and if we do he is just about good enough to get back up. Cue wild celebrations like last time getting out of the old third division.
