I am Rod Hull Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Yeah I agree BBQ, my in-laws live near Matlock Bath and there are some amazing views. We sometimes go walking the dogs up there with them, lovely stuff. Used to go there every summer for a day out as a kid. It always reminds me of a seaside town. Walking up to the Heights of Abraham should be an Olympic event.
Thracian Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Having worked there for a while i'd love to return to Swizerland. http://fookes.org/gallery/switzerland.php Further afield snorkelling among the Phi Phi Islands would be breathtaking. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Phi+Phi+islands+in+pics&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADFA_en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=y0XATpHAB4ag8gPZ86WcBA&ved=0CEoQsAQ&biw=984&bih=535&sei=zkXATtrxB4Xe8QP3s-iRBA But more likely is a trip to St George's, Grenada when my eldest sons's holiday home is finished. http://www.grenadaphotoalbum.com/thumbnails.php?album=1

DB11 Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Australia America I loved Brazil, but whether it'd be quite as good a second time I'm not too sure.
James. Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Pretty much mountain-based for me: Himalayas, in particular the Karakoram in Pakistan Andes, mainly Bolivia and Peru. Would love to do Aconcagua in Argentina as well Caucasus in Russia, possibly on for next year hence the avatar Antarctica (absolutely fascinating, especially after watching Frozen Planet) Then non-mountain based: Kashmir - stunning region (in fact would love to go back to India to explore there and more) Japan West coast of North America - from California all the way up to Vancouver/Seattle Borneo / Papua New Guinea

It's absolutely stunning and we only got as high as about 4,100 metres. Would love to go to Nepal/Tibet to do some climbing and the north east side of India, i.e. Sikkim.

My favourite thing about Himachal Pradesh was the copious amounts of weed growing naturally everywhere. We got offered a joint by a Hindu priest and accidentally burnt loads of it on our campfire as kindling without realising because it was dark

Langston Posted 17 November 2011 Posted 17 November 2011 My girlfriend has Icelandic heritage and as such is trying to persuade me to go there. Looks an interesting place and she's managed to sell it to me, fairly keen. We've never quite found the time for a reasonabe, lengthy get-away, spent a few days/nights in Vancouver in spring last year though which we both loved. Has anyone been to Iceland before? Opinions?
