Fox92 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Nigel Pearson is expected to be named as Leicester City's new manager today after compensation was finally agreed with Hull City. As the quote reads, that link reads today. So, I wonder when the press conference will be then, unless that is tomorow. Better listen to the phone in tonight then, and keep an eye on Sky Sports, LCFC and Hull City.

This isn't a dig at you btw just the moan-in
Happy Fox Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I would imagine the press conference will be tomorrow, Stringer tweeted that we will hear confirmation from Hull today with regards to NP.

Ashley Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Press conference will be tomorrow so Bert said?
Zingari Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I didn't realise that Hull had paid us compensation when he left us for them
Saxondale Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 We must wait until that Fat Lady sings... That's harsh. Susan Whelan is quite trim.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I'm very happy with this news and genuinely excited by the future. IMO if anyone can get this expensively assembled squad of round pegs playing in round holes then it's Pearson
hackneyfox Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 If he hasn't loaned a winger by Thursday he can do one.
Jace Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I am another happy customer if it works out great, if it doesnt wouldnt hold anything against Pearson
Jon the Hat Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 If he hasn't loaned a winger by Thursday he can do one. He has had a week to sort out a loan winger! We should see a couple of lads in for training on Wednesday....
Fox92 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 We must wait until that Fat Lady sings... Very true, but I think she is harmonising.
wellyfox Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Sore throat atm but when she is better she will sing.
Thracian Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I'm very happy with this news and genuinely excited by the future. IMO if anyone can get this expensively assembled squad of round pegs playing in round holes then it's Pearson Suggesting Pearson is some sort of super-manager who can turn water into wine is just fantasy. He didn't do it here despite some people trying to convince themselves he did and he didn't do it at Hull, as their "goals scored" column clearly demonstrates. Whatever managerial magic wand Pearson waves might prompt some momentary improvement - it often does with a new manager - but the simple truth is that our squad is not good enough. With Vassell being out for the season we don't even have two wingers - let alone cover for two wingers - we don't have proper attacking full-backs and we don't have enough goals in the side from enough places. Lasting improvement will take time. .

Kilworthfox Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Like playing Oakley on the wing I highly doubt that NP will be going back to those tactics, at the time he had a decent enough squad to reach 5th, now we have a much better squad, hopefully NP should be able to push us up to the automatics.

Probably but we don't know for sure certainly not enough to make like he's Mr Perfect, he has his strengths and weaknesses but playing round pegs in round holes is not one that we should be praising.

Hmmm yes i agree, but this is a club in a different financial situation from the one NP was pushed out from. What ever NP's good & bad points he did a wonderful job for us last time & I hope this continues on

We still don't have any proper wingers though (except bloody Dyer), if we play a flat 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 he'll be forced to play at least one player in an unfavoured position, and if he doesn't pick Dyer, possibly at least 2. I don't think Oakley will feature though
