davieG Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 We are were we are. Another chance to get in the top 6 goes begging and we still can't get 2 wins on the bounce.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 We are were we are. It sounds like it was one of those scrappy sort of games that could have gone either way. Like I said right at the start of the season, if our fans are banking on Beckford as the big goal scorer we may be disappointed. We need another quick winger and a better striker to play up with Nuge IMO
Swalker Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 PANIC!!!!!! Quick turn the radio off, the moan in's come on from people saying why they hate pearson because he plays boring football!!!! These are from 'fans' who so obviously can text in as soon as the final whistle goes when they're at the match!!! Moaning armchair fans, what could be worse
anotherwin Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Sound's like we stole a draw, but I 'spose could have been worse
cc_star Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Interesting game after the highs of last week, think people assumed we'd walk it It was certainly tough, sad that the defence didn't clear it for their goal, but Nige will sort that out Good to see Nugent back amongst the scorers But Beckford still not completed 90mins for us is worrying Kasper sounded great & Wellens did well, not too much else to shout about except... it wasn't either the 6-1 or 1-0 defeats of last season. Improvement? Desperate for some width, it's really going to make us pay between now and Jan
nuttytimmy Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 PANIC!!!!!! Quick turn the radio off I don't trust Daggers to not ruin Brazil GP qualifying for me. Anyway... It could've been much worse and we did something I can't remember seeing for a while - digging in and doggedly fighting for the result we needed. Not a bad performance IMHO. Conclusions in the usual place.
body102 Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Pearson could have 7 out of 9 points come tuesday , which is a cracking start to his second stint here . But obviously there will still be moans . win home , draw away and we will be there or thereabouts :scarf: :scarf:
wattolcfc Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 I could have seen us getting beat, was happy with a draw and would have been over the moon with a win. As the saying goes.. Win your home games and pick up points away and you'll be fine. Nigel, so far, has done just that!
ithuriel Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Two matches, four goal's, four point's. Nigel will be getting a better view of his player's and we are eight points from an automatic spot, interesting
Kitchandro Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 It sounds like it was one of those scrappy sort of games that could have gone either way. Like I said right at the start of the season, if our fans are banking on Beckford as the big goal scorer we may be disappointed. We need another quick winger and a better striker to play up with Nuge IMO We're certainly short of quality going forward, we definitely need a winger, I don't want to write Beckford off just yet but he's still not impressing at all. In an ideal world we'd get a creative attacking midfield player like Lallana or Hoolahan, but they're hard to find. The hard truth is despite the fact we've bought a load of midfielders they rarely do anything special. We are going to play a boring game away from home because we're just not that creative. However in time I think we'll start to play more fluidly at home at least, and I think we'll score goals and win games there. I'm happy with a point, we ground out a result and it sounded a typical Pearson away game. You always feel with him that no matter how bad we are playing that we can snatch something from a goal down. A win against Blackpool and we leap frog them, could go into the play-offs, big game
Guest MattP Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 180 mins and only beaten by a deflection, you can tell Nigel is back. Pleased to see us coming back from a goal down..
Kitchandro Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 We'd have lost that under Sven. I get that feeling too.
Corky Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Portsmouth are actually quite strong at home, much better than they are away where we should expect a win. Results went our way around us really, a win on Tuesday would be great. Lovely to see Nugent get another, superb signing.
Ambitious Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 not good enough, word of advice Pearson, if you don't want to end up like Sousa and Eriksson, try to avoid results like todays.
Haydos Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 not good enough, word of advice Pearson, if you don't want to end up like Sousa and Eriksson, try to avoid results like todays. Draws?
One Arm Babba Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 happy with a point especially as i got my 3 draws right in the championship. £200 from £5.... off out i go.
Guest shearfox Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Portsmouth have a good home record they are no mugs, a point gained for sure and with other results going our way we have gained on the teams in the top 6
AmyLGK Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Who the hell is this idiot on the radio??? I wasn't aware Kasper saved us last week.....!
Corky Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 We're also a lot tougher away from home, we aren't caving in on a regular basis like we've done previously.
davieG Posted 26 November 2011 Author Posted 26 November 2011 Who the hell is this idiot on the radio??? I wasn't aware Kasper saved us last week.....! Well it kept us in the game at 1-0 if it had gone to 1-1 without his save who knows what would have happened
Ambitious Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Draws? draws against teams that are near the bottom of the league
