acooling08 Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Kasper - 8 - Rarely had much to do, but was confident at taking crosses and he made 1 very good save at 0-0 in the first half. Peltier - 7 - Again he is a rock defensively. Bit injury prone? Bamba - 8 - Won a lot in the air but conceded a few silly free kicks around the box. Mills - 7 - Dominant in the air but distribution was sometimes poor. Konch - 8 - Unbeatable defensively and a threat going forward. Had some good link up play with Dyer. Dyer - 9 - After a very quiet opening 30 minutes he went on to create 2 goals with a good pass for King and great speed to beat Gilkes to the ball for the second. Wellens - 8 - A few poor passes but won the ball consistently to break up Blackpool's attacks. King - 8 - Well taken goal. Did a very good job defensively today. Gally - 7 - Not much outfield play to note, but his free kick and corner delivery is lethal. Beckford - 8 - I think people have it in for him. He was good today. Twice he had a very good effort saved by the goalkeeper. He seems more interested now. Nugent - 8 - Runs and runs and runs. Nothing quite fell for him today except for the chance at 2-0 which he should have buried. Howard - 7 Danns - 8 Fernandes N/A

kingfox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Schmeichel 7 - Didn't have much to do and doesn't deserve high rating just for one amazing save Peltier 8 - Solid as a rock and another consistent performance, growing game after game Mills 6 - Too many rubbish hoof balls, but at least one of them led to the first goal Bamba 7 - Solid, deserved to start in all fairness and looked comfortable, one mishap clearance though Konchesky 8 - Him and Peltier have been excellent this season, mr consistent performs again Gallagher 6 - Poor in and around the field, but set piece delivery was good Wellens 7 - Poor first half passing was everywhere, but improved second half King 7 - Got his goal, great moment but then kind of faded after that, but decent defensive work again Dyer 7 - Just changing, forgot about his assists, assisted both goals, but wasn't impressed with his other work Beckford 8 - Bit lazy at times, but then again he did some very good things, some very good efforts aswell Nugent 9 - Along with Peltier, the best player on the pitch, works his socks off quality signing Subs Howard 6 - Same as Pompey, didn't do much in my opinion Danns 7 - Don't deserve an 8, but a 7 is fair, nice to see improvement in his game Fernandes - N/A

Bryn Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 I think a smattering of 7s across the board from what I could see, with special distinction for Schmeichel, Konchesky, King, Dyer and Nugent, and nod to Beckford for some cool finishing which brought out some superb saves from Gilks. I don't think it was a win out of any individual effort, simply a solid team sticking to its task and getting it right. Schmeichel's concentration for a young goalkeeper is absolutely outstanding, his much heralded shot stopping has been extra-sharp in recent games and I see nothing of the flappy keeper Leeds fans seem to think we signed. I also really rate Peltier, consistent performer with a strong all-round game. He looks to me to be a player who's been taught the game well.
Bert Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Kasper 7 - One great save. Dealt with everything else with ease. Pelts 7 - Solid, stuck to his job. Supported the attack well. Konch 7 - See Peltier. Mills 7 - Shoddy Distribution, but defended well. Bamba 7 - Gave away some needless free-kicks but like Mills, defended well. Gallagher 6 - his set pieces were delivered like a dream tonight. Little else. Dyer 8 - Slow start, looked well off the pace. His control and composure which started the move for our first goal was top draw, and it was all about the pace for his 2nd assist. King 8 - the King of old. As soon as he was through you knew he was going to score. Mucked in with defending and kept the ball well. Wellens 6 - thought he was very lazy tonight, often list his man and moaned at others when he was responsible for leaving big holes. Nugent 7 - his usual hard working self, so unlucky to not have another goal tonight. Beckford 8 - Did everything tonight people have been moaning he hasn't been. Chased people down, looked up for it, and just had a good game. Two amazing saves have only stopped him being on the score sheet tonight. Howard 6 - added a bit more presence but did nothing of note. Danns 7 - a goal, looked very lively and gave us that bit of energy we seemed to be lacking at the time. Looked composed when he was on the ball and for me did himself no harm in pushing for the starting 11 on Saturday.
Guest ttfn Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 I'd agree with Bert. Beckford was much better too, although I think the keeper would have been disappointed had he not saved either.
Jimmy Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Schmeichel 8 - that save alone was worth an 8 Peltier 7 Mills 7 started the move for the 1st goal but that aside had a poor night passing wise Bamba 7 Koncheskey 8 Gally 7 Wellens 6 a typical average Wellens game King 8 worked hard at both ends and a very fitting scorer Dyer 9 paced himself more and was more effective for it Beckford 8 unlucky not to score Nugent 7 Howard 6 Danns 6
Thracian Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Kasper 8 (Such a source of confidence and concentration at the back of our defence. A couple of decent saves but his strength was in the presence he gave us. The guy just seems to be loving his football and his focus is an inspiration). Peltier 7.5 (Unspectacular but effective in another clean sheet). Bamba 7.5 (Made his customary cock-up but improved after a spluttering start). Mills 7 (Again he has presence but his distribution was so wasteful and always when he tries to do a Kisnorbo and pass the ball more than 10 yards. Both are awful at it). Konchesky 8 (A bit sloppy early on but right in command come the second half as City functioned well down the left side) Dyer 9 (Man of the match with two precision passes to create our goals. Was a source of danger both out wide and through the middle when Beckford went off. Might well have scored hmself had he had a crack from an angle instead of electing to pass to Howard. Worked back too when he or the team lost possession and was genuinely all-in at the finish having lasted longer than i expected. Quality contribution). Wellens 7 (Seemed to be suffering a bit from his efforts against Portsmouth and squandered possession too easily and too often despite winning plenty of possession). King 8 (Excellent goal, pointing to exactly where he wanted Dyer to deliver the bal and might easily have worked a similar goal when he elected to pull the ball back into the six-yard box instead of shooting from an angle. Another decent snapshot and lots of good work defensively and in our attack building). Gally 7 (Posed a threat from et pieces but seemed to lack for energy in the end and I wasn't surprised to see him subbed).. Beckford 7 (Two excellent snapshots might both have earned goals but on three or four occasions he simply ignored team-mates who'd worked hard to get in good positions. Looks more of an asset though but finding the balance between self and team will be the key for him) . Nugent 8 (So close with his chip over the goalkeeper and wide. He'd done the hard work in leaving the last defender in his wake. Won possession at times when he'd no right to and was always a threat. So frustrated when Beckford failed to put him in for a goal chance...and rightly so) Howard 7 (Played a part in the second goal and went close with a screamer which went just over). Danns 7.5 (Tidy goal from Dyer's pass and gave us a late surge of energy that was much needed). Pearson 8 (Seems to be getting far more out of his players than Eriicsson and won the tactical battle by a distance tonight. But I didn't think we needed to stop going for goal at the end and didn't like the discarding of Schlupp. It's exactly what I've expected though and such a waste of talent. Shades of Gradel I'm afraid and for no good reason that I'm aware of. He and Dyer are the only players we have who've got genuine pace and both need to be involved and confident. There was one chance created from the right when the ball flew right across their six yard box with Nugent desperately trying a tap in it at the far post. That would have been food and drink for Schlupp yet it's not the first time it's happened. Once we're in front we still don't get enough players in the box).
Adster Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 And didn't like the discarding of Schlupp. We know you didn't
fox in the sox Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 All at sixes and sevens for me. No not the team but the player ratings! It was a very good team performance but I don't think anybody did enough to get more than 7. Regarding Schlupp I would much rather have him coming off the bench than Howard but we can't really question Pearson at the minute can we.

No - we can wait til he's scoring goals someplace else I suppose!
Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 All at sixes and sevens for me. No not the team but the player ratings! I don't think anyone deserved less than a 7 tbh, a couple of 8s, no truly outstanding individual performances but no poor ones either. Good team display.
StanSP Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Schmeichel - 7 - One routine save and other than that, not much else to do. Peltier - 7 - Up and down the wing like his usual self. When he's supporting Gallagher or whoever else is in front of him, I like the threat he poses. Defensively, solid as usual. Mills - 6 - I wrote a tweet about him lumping the ball aimlessly forward time and time again and my annoyance at it. But just as I wrote that, he did do one which paid off, because that one was to Dyer which lead to the goal. I'd like him to just make an easy pass though more instead of hoof it up. Bamba - 7 - Other than the niggly free-kicks he gave away, another routine performance to keep St Ledger out of the side. Konchesky - 8 - Like Peltier, but even more threatening. He attacks with pace from the back, and links up with midfielders/attackers which is nice to see at home. Wellens - 6 - Didn't notice him much today. What he did do though, he did with consummate ease. King - 8 - Took his goal very well. Didn't have much to do but made it look very easy. More influential tonight in our attacking play. I like this kind of King! Gallagher - 7 - Ever since his injury, he's been playing very well. Offers that bit of flair up front, and his set-pieces were good today, too. Dyer - 9 - Man of the match performance tonight. It's as if he's been waiting for this performance for a while. Frightened the Blackpool wings with his pace; they couldn't handle it. Great control and nous to get by 2 or 3 Blackpool player's for Kingy's goal. And blistering pace to get to the ball before Gilks' for Danns' goal. Beckford - 8 - Much better performance tonight. Seemed more hungry and was especially unlucky not to open the scoring. That volley would have been talked about for weeks had it gone in. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. But it wasn't for the want of trying. He did well tonight and I hope he continues to play like tonight. Nugent - 8 - Similar to Beckford; very unlucky with the chances he had, and should have buried his goal right after Danns scored our second. He deserved a goal but again, just wasn't to be. Subs: Danns - 7 - He shanked his finish . He said that if he made a sweet connection it would have hit Row Z . Anyway, good option to bring on and the sub by Pearson paid off. Howard - 7 - Similar to Danns, a good effective sub made by Pearson. Like before this season, he'll be good at either killing games off or invigorating the side when in need. Tonight, it was the former and he did it efficiently. Fernandes - only on for 5 or so minutes so can't say much. Good that he's back though!
okie fox Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Schmeichel -7- One fantastic save, otherwise competent as usual Peltier -8- Thought he had a very good game Mills -7- Defended fairly well, but some of his passes set up Blackpool breakaways! Bamba -7- Troubled a bit by Lua-Lua trickery Koncheskey -8- A rock at the back, defended very well Gallagher -6- Not one of his better games Wellens -7- Mostly good King -8- Covered a lot of ground, much better in Pearson's system Dyer -8- Two assists, used his pace to good effect Beckford -8- Was up for this match, would have scored but for Gilks' super save Nugent -8- Played well, but should have scored to make it 3-0 SUBS: Danns -8- Caused havoc in Blackpool defence Howard -7- Decent Fernandes -6- Hustled, but not on for long
Alf Bentley Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Schmeichel 8 Good presence, reactions & distribution Peltier 7 Vigorous & reliable Bamba 6.5 Defensively solidish, if a little erratic/nervous Mills 6.5 Defensively solidish, but poor distribution, as ever Konchesky 7 Vigorous & reliable (defensive symmetry!) Gallagher 6.5 OK, no major impact this time Wellens 7 Combative & accurate King 8 Box-to-box midfielder tonight Dyer 8 Slow start, but fiercely committed/effective team performance thereafter Beckford 7.25 Definite upward trajectory; deserved his applause tonight Nugent 7 Finishing slightly off, all-round performance top class - love having this bloke here Howard 6.5 Vigorous & effective; spot on bench every time, please Danns 7 Best effort yet for LCFC - sharp & mobile Fernandes N/A Worked hard in brief appearance Pearson 8.5 Jury's out as to whether he'd make a good Premier League manager, but that's irrelevant for now. He's rapidly creating a good Championship team that might get promoted, approximately his task this season (whereas Sven created a poor Premiership-style team!). I'm already getting that old Pearson feeling back - of being in contention in almost every game. We feel more likely to score than before, and less likely to concede...quite a happy combination, even if the passing isn't always quite as daintily pretty as in the Sven era.
Fox92 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Schmeichel - 8 - Fantastic point blank save again! Great when called upon. Peltier - 8 - So consistant in everything he does. Bamba - 8 Mills - 7 - A few dodgy passes, but, generally solid. Konchesky - 7 Dyer - 8 - Better. Wellens - 8 King - 8 Gallagher - 6 Beckford - 7 - Unlucky with his shots (good saves), but pleased with him tonight. Nugent - 9 - I know he didn't score, but, he was fantastic. Deserved a goal. Never stopped running and chasing. Unlucky not to score several times.
Simo86 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Schmeichel 8- One fantastic save, nothing else to do before or after that really. Peltier 7- Solid as usual Bamba 7- Solid, one mistake but was high up the pitch so no damage was caused Mills 7- Few dodgy passes but his defending throughout made up for them Konchesky 8- Solid, dependable, this blokes engine is ridiculous he doesn't stop for 90 mins week in, week out Gallagher 6- In and out of the game, few nice touches and deliveries but nothing out of the ordinary. Left Pelts isolated at times King 8- He's starting to add other dimensions to his game which is pleasing to see. Took his goal well but what was more pleasing to see is that he was noticed throughout the game without going missing. Wellens 6- Passing last night was awful! He constantly lost the ball, trying fancy flicks and hollywood balls that just weren't happening last night. He stuck to his task though and improved in the 2nd half Dyer 8- His pace was a constant threat. Two assists will give him a lot more confidence. Help out Konch well at the back Nugent 7- Constant pain in the side for both centre backs, he doesn't give them a moments peace. Went close with a couple of decent efforts Beckford 7- He looked very dangerous last night, unlucky not to get a couple of goals. I thought his substitution was harsh, especially as Nugent was walking off thinking it was him but i can't argue with NFP! Subs Howard 7- Held the ball up well, and did the simple things. Evatt didn't like the fact he wasn't winning everything in the air when he came on Danns 7- Great energy, got to be pushing Gally for a starting place. Nice to see Pearson getting the best out of him so early Fernandes n/a- This blokes energy is ridiculous! He's like a man possessed, you could see that he was fighting for his place
Simi Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Kasper - 9 - Great save, again and distribution was mostly good. Peltier - 7 - Mr. Consistent. Love this man. Bamba - 7 - One shaky moment but dealt with most. Mills - 6 - Defended ok apart from selling himself once or twice and was turned. Stop with the wonderballs Matt, you can't do them. Konch - 7 - Again, very consistent and defended and distributed well. Dyer - 8 - Ran and ran until he had nothing left, one assist. Wellens - 7 - Great ball to Dyer for Danns goal, industrious. King - 8 - Shows the impact he can have when he gets involved. Tireless. Gally - 7 - Not his best, pressed better as game went on. Beckford - 8 - Unlucky not to score, forced two great saves. Nugent - 8 - Deserved a goal and should have had one, great work off the ball. Howard - 7 Danns - 8 Fernandes N/A
Simmo86 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Kasper - 7 - One decent save, apart from that did what he had to do well. Pelts - 7.5 - Solid as always. Mills- 7 - Solid, passing hit and miss again. Bamba- 7 - Solid, some silly free kicks given away. Konchesky - 7.5 - The blokes an animal. Gally - 6 - Corners better than normal. Danns has got to be pushing him for a start on Saturday. King - 8 - Typical Kingy finsh, pleased for him. Wellens - 6.5 - Awful for 60 minutes but improved late on. Good through ball for Dyer to setup the 2nd. Dyer - 8 - I was cursing him a bit first 30, but after that improved no end. Beckford - 7 - Getting there, very very unlucky not to score. Da Nuge - 7 - Typical Nuge performance, hardwork and bundles of energy. Should of scored though. Subs Howard - 6 - Caused them problems. Danns - 7.5 - Cracking 30 mins, think that was the Danns we've been waiting for. Lovely shanked finish! Gelson - N/A - Nice to see him back. Pearson - 8 - Bent Ollie over and gave him a tactical ****ing. The mans a hero! Ollie - 2 - Crazy subs!
Guest parky0607 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Kasper - 10 - Clean Sheet, great saves and excellent distribution - nothing to fault Peltier - 7 - Just great. Bamba - 8.5 - A rock at the back, forced the forwards to give up sometimes but made a shaky error which could have gifted them a goal and gave away silly free kicks (could have been booked) Mills - 6 - Defensively, he did a job, however when he got the ball going forward he lost it everytime and took the pressure off the opposition, could have been caught out of position too. Konch - 8 - Defended well and again was good going forward, I'd maybe like to see him drive a bit more, he has a cracking shot so why not use it? Dyer - 8 - Some quiet points but he creates chances with his blistering pace, gave it his all Wellens - 6 - Did a job but he needs to go for the easy ball a lot more, if he wants to play a hollywood ball, make sure its gonna work. Also should have had a shot at times instead of trying to pass it into the net King - 8 - Worked hard and got stuck in. Composed finish for the first goal Gally - 6.5 - Didn't do a right lot but great at set pieces and played simple football well, again he could have had a shot at times - he has the ability. Beckford - 7 - His best performance so far in a Leicester shirt, ran around tirelessly, some great shots, but always seems to want to pass the ball when theres an opportunity to shoot (low in confidence?). Nugent - 9 - Hardest worker on the pitch, and some great chances, unlucky not to score Howard - 6 - Did what he needed to do but not a right lot else - was fairly static for a sub with fresh legs Danns - 8 - Worked hard when he came on, looked like he really wants that place in the 11. Lucky that his 2mph shot into the goal wasn't stopped by the defender but it did go in and thats what counts Fernandes - 8 - Worked really hard when he came on, never stopped (albeit he was on the pitch for 5 mins)
Dan Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Kasper - 8/10. Once again, he's getting 8's every single week, always seems to pull off some superb save, and even Shelvey's free-kick for example, it was hit very hard and he caught it so easily. He's got incredible potential, can see him playing for one of the absolute top sides. Peltier - 7/10. Again. He defended and attacked well, he's a very capable right back at this level. Mills - 6/10. He got forward for some dead balls and tried to attack them, which I commend, but I felt some of his defending was a tad sloppy. His clearing is appalling. Nothing too bad though, good enough for tonight. Bamba - 7/10. Pretty solid, made a couple of little errors but generally played very well. Konchesky - 7/10. No getting past him, and his attacking's very good. I'm amazed Forest didn't rate him, I think he's quality. Gallagher - 6/10. Pretty disappointing, good in parts but didn't really offer much. King - 8/10. Tidy finish, ran his socks off, made some great defensive tackles and often looked a threat. To do all this during what is not an easy time for him, and you know what, despite his young age, you actually knew he'd be like this. His attitude is world class and he'll only get better under Pearson. Wellens - 7/10. Didn't do a great deal for me, great ball for our 2nd though which is why he needs to play. Him and King are forming an excellent partnership again. Dyer - 8/10. I don't think he was as amazing as some say but I was still very impressed, I did think at times he got muscled off it too easily but on the whole you cannot fault two assists, pace and real positivity. Much more like it from him. Nugent - 7/10. Worked hard again, unlucky not to score. Beckford - 7/10. Improved but a lot of work to do. Pearson's made a superb approach with him and he's gone from some prima-donna who really isn't arsed to someone who genuinely wants to succeed for the club. Subs; Howard - 6/10. Made a few good passes, I don't think he was ever going to have a huge impact. Danns - 7/10. Scored a goal, ran around a lot for the limited time he was on and played some nice passes, a good display. Fernandes - 6/10. Very little time to make an impact but what a player to bring on when you're hanging on, his work rate is superb.
Simo86 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Wellens - 6 - Did a job but he needs to go for the easy ball a lot more, if he wants to play a hollywood ball, make sure its gonna work. Also should have had a shot at times instead of trying to pass it into the net Have you seen Wellens shoot? He doesn't shoot from range for a reason, he knows it isn't his best attribute. The one time he tried a shot he missed the ball and fell on his backside
Dan Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I have seen Wellens shoot, and score, from 20 yards against Southampton, from 25 against Doncaster. But to be fair he only shoots when he's confident he'll score, and I'm not gonna argue with that. I don't get all of this criticism for his "hollywood passes", they're often a source of goals, if only 1 in 5 of them work and he tries 5 a game.....
