Wellens was utterly shocking but again no worse than Gally, King or Lloyd Dyer Even Kaspers kicking was fookin dire. Today I do have to concede that the midfield needs an overhaul.... And that we should sign Sharp... Returning home again thinking that a massive amount of work is needed on this squad. There's a lot of anger today and acceptance that we are, in fact, shite.....

Steve's biggest contribution today was to give away fouls. With him not being able to run, this lead to Nugent having to do two players running. Every single one of our midfielders were completely ineffective. Wellens, another laughable performance. Can't imagine the reaction if Beckford had have missed the two golden opportunities that the undroppable golden boy did. King was his usual self. Gallagher? How many challenges does the guy want to back out of? Not quick enough, poor passing, shit corners, stupid needless flicks. Today was the first time Kasper looked suspect too. Could do nothing about the second, but he made a proper cock up for their first. Why was Billy Sharp allowed time and space, not once but twice in the space of two minutes? Bamba got made to look like a mug today. Ref, and fat Lino from the left side as we looked can get fooked. So can Pearson today, I can't believe a sub wasn't made earlier! All the players here currently which pearson made were got in the past, however we are now in a different scenario all together, different strengths are needed. Southampton or West Ham would not take anyone from our squad (maybe schmeichel), and for the lack of quality i blame Sven. He made the squad and unfortunateley it is shit. As i said in another thread i went to watch brum v maribor the other night, they played their second team and it clearly has much more quality then any team we could possibly put out. Only person in this squad that could play in the prem is Schmeichel, may aswell ask hinckley united if we can do a squad swap, absolute joke. To all you haters asking why beckford is not starting, it may have something to do with a lack of goals, if a striker isnt scoring (Beckford), then we may aswell replace him with someone who is more of a handful (Howard). Beckford getting no service from our shit midfield, is he supposed to create all his own chances? Mills apart from a couple of games has been ok. Konch has probably been up there as our best performer How can you comment on Danns when he hasn't been given a decent run in his proper position? He must be pulling his cornrows out not getting a run in this central midfield!

We need a goal hungry striker. We need 'wide midfielders' or WINGERS. We need players to play for each other, not just turn up for their very healthy pay packet. I have never stated we'll be going up, it'll be easy for us etc I challenge you to prove other wise. You can't be happy with where we are and how we're playing. What is the obsession with wingers. Sven didn't think Dyer and Gallagher were good enough, so played 3 central midfielders instead. He has been proven right so far. Gallagher contributes nothing except set piece expertise and Dyer is unproductive and only good for running at players 20 minutes from time. Pearson needs to stop playing the players he knows and recognise the rest of the talent in the squad. Starting Howard instead of Beckford ffs. Get Abe, Fernandes, Johnson and Danns back in the midfield. They are a cut above of how Wellens and King are performing right now. Did i just see somebody above say we should get rid of Bamba? Wtf?

Normally agree with you Bert, but pretty sure Howard got the flick for the goal (that's not saying he's good enough, because he's obviously well short of promotion material... but then again so's 8 of the other 11, although that's all one man's fault apparently

reynard Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 Massive disappointment. The midfield simply isn't up to it. They don't move the ball quick enough they don't pass and move. All 4 need to go. Howard show just how far we've come! Pace, movement, simple footballing skills, rolling your sleeves up when things get tough, luck, all things we seem to be lacking at the moment. I simply don't see how we are going to put a run together good enough for the play offs. Our midfield is inadequate, out strike force isn't good enough either and our defence can be shambolic at times.

Pantsil is a joke Bamba missing from your side?... pretty far from his biggest fan, but he's have a good season when measured against the rest of shite Mills has been bombscare, if he's not costing us games with stupid reds he's making mistaking which lead to goals Danns is never a professional footballer, not in a million years - we've been conned, he is not the same player who Rangers wanted to sign from Palace that's for sure The rest of your suggested side may be worth a punt, but I really don't think Johnson will play, he's not played for 3 years & he's been very pedestrian for us, obviously he couldn't be worse than what's happening at the minute, so could be worth a look Moussa on the right is a must IMO, he looked really sharp there on the occasions he played last season, and could help balance the midfield out a bit, which hardly has an outlet thanks to weak forward & piss poor wingers & error prone defenders behind them

I think our gripe is that the way we're playing at the moment we're going to let the chance slip away. When you're 1-0 against a team you really have to look to push on and take control of the game, today we didn't and were punished for it.

The team as it is isnt good enough, especially the midfield. The defence is still a joke too, cant defend when it matters. Wellens was dreadful today, and Gallagher wasnt much better. Poor performance and things need to change.
