but Babs some of those results were in the Cup? In the league we have been dreadful regarding consistency

I don't care what they were in.

Will tonights result bring up the inevitable question now come the end of the season?

No, because the majority will say "give him a pre-season" like they did with Eriksson.

The weak links are evident to every team in this league. Whether he can act to remove them will determine the succes or otherwise of his second term with us.

Our fans really are the most embarrassingly fickle bunch of morons I have ever seen!

not just me who thinks that then,

if we'd be dog sh**e for the last 12 games then i might actually harp up...but we havent...1 defeat and its all hand on deck...abandon ship

I'm with you guys aswell, Pearson will definitely sort it out over the summer, I hope he spends because if he does he'll do it much wiser than Sven, he will make us more of a unit next season, but it's still not mathematically over so keep the faith, stranger things have happened at our club!

How do you know the owners wont fire him?

I really hope they don't but it must be a possibility?

In Top's word from those financial accounts. "The primary aim of the Club will be to challenge for a top 6 position in the Championship in the current season with the Ultimate objection of promotion to the Premier League."

I will leave you to decide if you think he will get the sack, if we loose to Chelsea, and the playoffs become untenable then it will be very interesting to see what happens, if they don't pull the trigger I will be surprised , although I hope they give him at least 15-20 games next season to see where are in the league, if we aren't in the top two then the Thais will probs get rid, seeing as next season we have to get promoted.

If they sack Nigel, I would be shocked. He had a tough job on from the start, behind the scenes, walking into Sven's inbalanced squad to try and clear some deadwood out. He pinpointed what we needed in terms of a leader at the back and a winger and got them in. Sacking him now, or even later this season, would be a ridiculous decision in my opinion. At the end of the day, we have lost too many games this season. I'm not being disrespectful, but we shouldn't be loosing at home to the likes of Bristol City, Millwall and Barnsley.

Don't understand why this thread is being brought up either. It always crops up after we loose, but not after we win

how can people say pearson hasnt done anything for us?

no one can call for pearson's head we are in the quarters of the fa.

I am dissaponited like many but i see pearson as the ideal person to take us forward

Is Pearson the answer?

Yes , but only if the question is "what's your favourite balloon shaped fruit dad?"

( ok that was fookin awful even by my standards ) :)

are we trying to rival Chelsea in the sacking stakes then? :glare:

Defeat to Bristol though

So if we was in the premiership and losing to the like of Aston Villa that would be ok then?

Nobody knows they won't, and them landing on the moon is a possibility. But why would they give Sven a year and then the replacement less. Especially when the replacement has had considerably less money to put the team together.

They know what kind of manager Pearson is, they will have done their research. They know he is a team builder, why hire a manager to do that and get rid before he's had the chance.

If it happened (which it won't) I would lose all faith in the people at the top of the club.. no pun intended.

NFP might well develope into a fine manager but at this moment in time he has one glaring weakness.

He is hugely conservative tactically, particularly in regard to our forward play. This may improve as he shapes the team more to his liking but I remain totally unconvinced that a largely direct 4-4-2 is going to move us forward.

To be tactically out thought (predictably so) and beaten by relegation fodder like Bristol is simply not good enough.... :nono:

A tactically astute attack coach is what we need but there is no chance of NFP letting such a person within a mile of his team.... :/

Because in their eyes they are running out of time and patience?

Because they don't know much about football and nor does their CEO?

But surely you wouldn't be surprised either? After all, they wasted no time in getting rid of Sven.

I am with you, if they took the decision to employ Pearson then they must stick with him next season.

I think the only certain thing about this era of ownership is that nothing in certain and anything is possible.

I wish we would knock it about abit. At the minute, our football is more penetrating than when Sven was in charge, but, I wish Kasper wouldn't constantly launch the ball long (way too long as well) for Nugent and Beckford. They are not target men, and they will not win header's and flick ons, or hold it up. The ball just comes back, so the midfield is always chasing. Our best chance of scoring is when we play the ball on the floor, which midfielders like Wellens, Danns, Dyer, Drinkwater, King and Marshall prefer.

If we are we're winning quite comfortably.

Pearson won't go this season, but I concur with the many who reckon he'll have a short amount of time to prove himself in the next one.

Of course that's assuming we don't sneak promotion this season.:scarf:

errrm yeah of course we could stay unbeaten between now and the end of the season . . . . . .

Pearson was employed because the Thais believed he could achieve a Top 6 spot with this squad.

He won't, he has lost them money through making Mills lose value, they will sack him.

Dowie in!

Just changed my answer from 'long term' to 'not at all'

If he thinks bringing steve howard on when we are 1-0 down is a better option than schlupp... well then i give up.
