FrankieADZ Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Never takes long for this thread to pop up after a loss... We crave stability and yet every manager we get is the wrong one hmmmmm wrong Get sick of seeing ppl moaning about the manager everytime we lose. I'd hate to see some fans if we had got promoted.ffs be honest, i didnt expect us to really get anything, Reading are on 1 hell of a run.
Cropwellfox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Just changed my answer from 'long term' to 'not at all' If he thinks bringing steve howard on when we are 1-0 down is a better option than schlupp... well then i give up. This. Just cannot believe his substitutions today.

I think this summer, Pearson needs to clear out some of the "dead wood" at the club
foxesfan1989 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Yes. Long term. He IS the man to sort things out. No messing about with him, its the players, not Nige. Give him a pre season and watch what he can do.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 nope, never has been. plays boring, hoof-ball football and refuses to drop his favourites even when they are playing badly i.e Danns and Wellens. He's an arrogant fooker too, so no he isnt the answer
Paulmot Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 FFS promoted from div 1 to play offs driven out. Takes Hull into the play off places. The problem is LCFC not the Manager. Everyone needs to realise football is a team game. yes individuals can aid the cause. BUT to many individuals make not a team. Mancini brought balance and a team ethic to Man City it takes time and hard work and strong minds (Tevez) who opologised? Changing leadership is not the answer LCFC through and through Give Nigel time and breathing space. Yes he may fail but not for want of trying and attention to detail. Sven 5.5 mill for Mills. Pearson in transfer window not held to ransom. Lets all now just back the team till next season. Cause me i am P****d of all the know it all whinging b******s who chirp up with their monotone views PS I am not worried about the grammar. LCFC TILL THE END
2012fox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 This is my first post on the forum but here goes. I believe Pearson should be sacked before the season is out and I think he's only a couple of games away at the min. 1) the tactics are negative and we no longer play decent football it's alot of "hoofing" again (pointless) 2) dressing room bust ups (he was a whisker away from letting st ledger go who has been one of the better performers) 3) doesn't attract any high profile players (eg look at all his signing past and preset couldn't see players like konchesky singing if he was manager at the time) 4) results (looking at what Sven got sacked for) 5) his arrogant and defensive short answers to the questions asked in interviews 6) can't motive the players 7) bringing Steve Howard on / having him around the first team squad. He wouldn't even get in coventrys side. The manager for next season has to be some one the owners trust to spend the money on the right players and start the new season with the right results and consistency needed to mount a promotion push. The only problem is who to replace him?

Number 6 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 FFS! Someone go and find me a job on NP's cv where he wasn't successful. I'll save you time, there isn't one. Let him have time to build a team, he's proved very capable of this. So we won't be the sexiest team in the division but we will get results. This isn't NP's team and he needs time to change the mentalility of the squad and possibly the personnel. If people are calling for his head now then I really do dispair.

The only problem is who to replace him? Let's hope it's the last too: 1. Playing to what he has. Has tried to play football when possible and has kindled some form of partnership with Nugent and Beckford. 2. He takes no crap. Not going to be disappointed with that. HE is the manager. No player is bigger than LCFC. Glad he's shunned Mills. 3. Because high profile is the answer 4. Yes not great but we have seen improvement. There is no magic wand, things will take time. 5. . Oh no his interviews are rubbish, let's get Ollie back. 6. Completely disagree with this. Much better than previous managers in this area. 7. No he's not good enough but he's the only other option we currently have. He's there purely to offer something different.

Dan Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 Are these people who claim we need stability the same ones who think getting rid of a manager who's generally been a winner for us? After he's come in with a squad that's totally un-Pearson like, on high wages, underperforming etc.... Pearson's had an extremely tough job, Sven is the one to blame for me, without a doubt.

People expect that as soon as we get a new manager like when Pearson came in we would go on a massive run..
Rusko187 Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 People want Pearson out? jesus christ! The club needs stability.. last time we were chopping and changing managers we got relegated, Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm sure this time next season things will be a different story and everyone will be loving him again. Also dressing room bust ups happen, big deal! happens all the time, they are lads and sometimes they need discipline. If it wasn't for bust ups how do you think Fergie would have got along at Man U?
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 Good at motivating players (we've seen glimpses of beckford a changed man) gets his formations normally are good very good at spending money can bring in great talent (Drinkwater has looked a decent purchase) Good track record of securing high championship finishes
Babylon Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 1) the tactics are negative and we no longer play decent football it's alot of "hoofing" again (pointless) We no longer play decent football? What decent football are you referring to with THESE players? Was it the home losses to Bristol and Reading, or the drubbing against Millwall? This is not the borrowed team of last year and not once proved itself as a unit capable of flowing football under Sven. 2) dressing room bust ups (he was a whisker away from letting st ledger go who has been one of the better performers) Firstly you have no idea of what has or hasn't gone on, who who was guilty of what. Secondly, people whinge and moan about the teams lack of fight and the number of egos we have. Do you not think this might be what the manager is trying to sort out? 3) doesn't attract any high profile players (eg look at all his signing past and preset couldn't see players like konchesky singing if he was manager at the time) Doesn't attract high profile players? Yeah because the tactic of signing big named inflated egos has worked wonderfully so far. He buys young and hungry players, that's what he does and that's how he builds his teams. And it usually works when he's given time. 4) results (looking at what Sven got sacked for) Results haven't been great, but Sven was sacked because he managed to Spend £20m + in a year and get us to mid-table. 5) his arrogant and defensive short answers to the questions asked in interviews You think he should be sacked because he doesn't answer what a 90% of the time stupid questions? 6) can't motive the players He managed to motivate his players last time and the players at Hull were fairly motivated under him. Maybe some of of players aren't interested full stop. 7) bringing Steve Howard on / having him around the first team squad. He wouldn't even get in coventrys side. He's not in our side, and probably wouldn't even be on the bench if we didn't have two strikers out injured. I don't know if the bloke will be a success, but we have to give people time. It's utterly ridiculous that people would even consider changing manager AGAIN. Have we not been down this route before and look where it took us, to league one. We've had some good wins under Pearson and we're in the quarter finals of the FA Cup on Sunday. Yes there is a lot of hard word to be done, and some comings and goings will be needed over the summer, but we need to give him that time and a good chunk of next season or we'll never know what he was capable.
iamafox Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 Pearson will do better in this summer's transfer window than Sven did last summer.

Happy Fox Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 Time is the key factor ideally we would give NP 2 seasons in this league for him to build a team to get automatic promotion, whatever way you look at it we have to get promoted next season and it remains to be seen whether that can be achieved, I have my doubts that NP won't get rid of the deadwood, but we will see what happens this summer.

What is this 'deadwood' many people keep talking about? We have a squad of players. The managers job is to get the best out of what we've got isn't it? He might sell a few, sign a few.... But 'deadwood' is a bit of a catch-all phrase which serves no purpose IMO. I've said this before... What I'd like to see is Pearson starting to play the players he has long term faith in NOW.... But I think he probably will after Saturday.
