Brooksy Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 What the team should be after January : Schmeichel Pelts Mills Bamba Konch New winger New mid New mid New winger Beckford Nugent What the team will be : Schmeichel Pelts Mills Bamba Konch Gallagher Wellens King Dyer Fryatt Nugent
StrovolosTiger Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 Players in : Sharp/Maynard Juke box Adomoah. Stewart. Koren/Ambrose/Butterfield. Cunningham. Smithies. Players out: Weale. Ball. Wellens. Johnson ( send back ). Moussa ( loan ). Howard. Schlupp ( loan ). I think all these signings would be realistic bar from smithies proberbly ? If I was you I would write off signing any of our player, for a whole load of reasons, but the bottom line is that our owner would rather consign them to the stiffs for the rest of the season rather than let them leave to play under Pearson again. Sorry.
enex Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Wayne Routledge Andros Townsend Tom Huddlestone Simon Cox
Leicesterpool Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 Players I'd Bring- Wilfried Zaha From Palace Billy Sharp From Doncaster Peter Whittingham From Cardiff Nicky Maynard (but doubtful) A surprise name Bradley Pritchard From Charlton, seen him at non league with Nuneaton Boro four seasons ago he was excellent, since then he's grown in his skill To Go- Steve Howard Michael Ball Martyn Waghorn
foxfanazer Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 3 maybe 4 max in (2 wingers, a quality centre mid with flair and maybe a striker) imo would do nicely. News to get rid of a few though cuz it can't be good for team spIrit having so many centre midfielders and sticking with king and wellens who are not playing well. In: snodgrass, Jacob butterfield, adam hammil (probably couldn't get him) and either sharp or Rhodes
accessory Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 This season is not written off yet, i've seen two seasons where we we're promoted when around this time we looked dire, the season Little got us up when we we're injury ravaged and got some real pasting's, Notts Co. 4 goals against and a dreadful hammering on the TV at forest are still lingering in my memory But we were top 2 for most of that season until a late slump in form and a run of wins by Palace and Forest took them clear. The season O'niell took us up we we're drifting to mid table with numerous dire draws. We had been top that season too under McGhee, but again injuries and a lack of depth/consistency undermined us. MON was able to wheel and deal in a way which wouldn't be possible now because of shorter transfer windows. Both seasons turned around sharply with injured player's returning or new ones coming in, in footy it truly is never over until the the fat Klingon sticks his bat'lev or whatever you call it up your rear But the writing's been on the wall for some time - the question is whether certain folk can read it.
ithuriel Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 But the writing's been on the wall for some time - the question is whether certain folk can read it. What writing, Pearson has only just got his foot in the door and even though he has some major work to do this season can turn around. Just because you have a very negative view of Pearson does not mean he can not get this squad into the play offs with additional players in January. You are entitled to your opinion, not fact but opinion myself i intend to see what happens rather than writing the whole season off in December. The only peeps who should be doing that are Cov supporters bless em
Soar Fox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 What about Kris Boyd terminated his contract with Eskisehirspor. Big target man who's more mobile than Steve Howard.
wellyfox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Reading this thread most players on the IN's and OUT list's are the same. First the out's I don't see many if any going. The bigest reason is high wages and long contracts. The other reason is the only clubs capable of paying them are above us. Would you buy any of them? As for the IN's we don't look good soft in the middle nothing out wide. And just cos we pay high wages don't mean the players named will sign. They want prem footy not championship. I have not wrote off our chances and still think we could manage it. Also we have to convince any player that we can get more in. And I am not sure we can. Out of 3/4 we need I think the quality we are looking at we would be lucky to sign 2
dannythefox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Shoot me down if you want but does anyone think we could get Andy Carroll on loan? I dont think he would go to another prem team because of all the crap off fans he's getting but would he come to a championship club? I'm not saying we should make him our number one target but would it be possible?

funkyrobot Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 It's not 'the other mans' players who are the problem, it's Nige's. Yeh you're right. Dannsy, the saint, becks, johnno, fernandes and konch have been absolute world beaters. The 'other man' did indeed do a fine job
darko2k7 Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Players in , Albert Adomah Jacob Butterfield Ben Davies Lukas Jutkiewicz Hammil (loan) Full back loan Players out, Gally Wellens Howard Ball Johnson Moreno OakleyI know we wont do this many deals even tho this is what id like to happen .

bisto Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 What have people got against Konchesky? I can't remember the last reliable, solid left back we've had. konchesky has been one of our best players this year, why people keep getting on his back is stupid.
RonnieTodger Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Need a Winger and a creative midfielder (to replace Dyer and Wellens) Maybe a backup keeper (If Kasper gets injured we're fvcked) Don't think we need another striker, maybe a target man if available. This. I think we should keep Howard in reply to other people's answers. Isn't it the last year of his contract? He'll probably retire at the end of the year so we might as well let him finish at he teams he loves. Also, the proposed target man IMO needs be someone with a bit more pace than big Steve. Bothroyd type player. Lukas Jutkiewicz?
foxfanazer Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 konchesky has been one of our best players this year, why people keep getting on his back is stupid. I agree! Just because the team hasn't being playing well collectively doesn't meen every player is awful!
MrAus Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Kris Boyd on a free transfer ! Point to prove in English football ??? Better option than Howard and different to Nugent and Beckford ???

dannythefox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Really. No Chance a £35m loanee Why he's not worth a quarter of that he needs to get back playing regular football again and you can still see Liverpool getting another striker!
Guest ttfn Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Graeme Dorrans Billy Sharp/Nicky Maynard Andros Townsend on loan Albert Adomah
