A flaw to your flaw if he had wanted to join us he would have asked for a transfer instead of keeping silent :(

Beat me to it lol

Good minds think alike.

I can't believe some people, do people really think that there are players out there gagging to just come and play for Leicester?

There are hungry and ambitious players out there that will be interested for sure. But if there are bids from several parties they are going to take their time and choose the one they think is best for them.... that could end up being us, it could end up being someone else.

Just because they take their time does not mean they don't want to sign. On the flip side if someone does sign on the dotted line the instant the offer goes in, it doesn't mean they are dying to play for us. It could just mean they want the stupid money on offer or they had nobody else interested.

Well said pal, leicester city are attractive to players at the minute for one reason , money. We are playing poorly this season and this is the reason we are failing we have signed players who are looking for a payday like beckford he has no willpower to succeed. We should be looking at players in the lower leagues who genuinely want to play for Leicester and are excited about the prospect of coming here.

I can't be arsed with the wait for him though, I don't think he's worth pissing about for. We need players in sooner, rather than later as well. We've looked absolute dog shit for weeks now and it's amazing we're only 4 points off the top 6. It's blatant we need 2 new wingers, a central midfielder, a striker and a centre half and I know it cannot be resolved in a matter of days but with the money we have we should be able to manipulate things a little quicker. Pearson always get's his business done quickly otherwise he moves on.

How can you agree with both Babylon ( who said that it may well take time to sign players as they will want to weigh up their options) and Ric ( who wants BS to sign ASAP or not at all)

A slight anomaly?

Make your mind up...

lol

Ric, we only knew an offer had been accepted late on Saturday. It's 10.42am on Wednesday morning. Do you not think that's a rather short timescale to be placing on his signature, especially if he is our first choice target?

I'm fairly sure Pearson and Neville are not sitting twiddling their thumbs, lists of players would have been drawn up ages ago and calls made to clubs. Unfortunately whilst the money is good, it can also be a burden as clubs and agents will purposely drag things out to try and rinse every penny they can out of us. That will happen no matter who we go for.

Clubs will also be reluctant to release people if they haven't got replacements sorted out. Yes we are desperate for new players, Pearson will do what he can to get them in. But we need the right ones, not just anyone.... sometimes they just might not be available, or want to join us.

Not sure those two are really all that mutually exclusive.

You can be pragmatic and agree with Babylon, which in reality is the likely position.

However that does not mean you are happy to wait and would like his signature immediately.

We are human after all and quite often 'Know' the reality of a given situation, whilst holding a view at odds with that reality.

I'd like Billy to sign in the next 10 mins or feck off so we can move on. In REALITY he's liable to take his time before making a decision.

I agree with the fact it's not a given that players want to come to Leicester outright. And everything in the second post. Billy sharp isn't good enough to warrant another Maynard saga city need to move on if he's taking to long.

Read my reply to Babylon post I never stated I agreed with everything he wrote. Anyway why is this so important to you, move on. I agree with certain aspects of both posts sorry I didn't write an s.a for your benefit to explain that.

Haha, I think in short what i'm trying to say is I don't really want Billy Sharp to sign for us and i'd rather we went elsewhere. Although, I suppose £1.85 million isn't bad business. I was horrified at what I saw against Peterborough, Pompey and for large parts against Palace, i'm getting very impatient and disgruntled with this club.

still no confirmation that Fulham have bid tho although Donny have offered him the highest wages in their clubs history, so fair play to them for that.

"Fair play to Donny"? So they didn't realise how much Sharp is worth to them until another club bid for him? If Sharp has any nous at all then he'll realise that Donny haven't been pulling out all the stops to keep him at all, until they suddenly panicked. The offer to him now stinks of desperation, it's almost obscene in the context of Donny's size and financial resources, and ought to unsettle the other players in the squad if Sharp were to accept it and stay.

As for Sharp having enough time to think over our offer, it may have been officially made only last Saturday but he will have been well aware for several weeks now that such offers were going to come in for him, and he would have known City were the most likely suitor (for example, the several Nugent articles calling for his signature, and his own agent's contacts). He's had plenty of time to weigh up his position and his ambitions.

Id rather Billy take his time and weight up his options, if he picks us over 3 or 4 other clubs, I'll be over the moon shows he wants to be here, if he just makes a spur of the moment decision, It could mean that he just wants a pay rise!

I dont think well get him to be honest

after what ive read today Donnie are offering him a deal he cant refuse so I think hell stay there

I also dont think we'll get, Stewart, marshall and kebe either and well up up with a couple of shit last minute buys

Billy still wants away from Donny, Up to him now!

Don't think that would be fully the case if you're going by Stringer's tweet.

I don't think he wants away from Donny; it's just that Donny can't afford to keep him. I presume it'd be more of a reluctant decision to agree to move away from a club he's grown so close to.

Bettsy82 you see the MultiQuote button at the bottem right of every post ? Use that if you are answering multiple post as about half of this thread is made up of you double or even triple posts.

I'm only saying as i keep checking thread for news and see there are a few new pages only to find just you agreeing with everyone.

Thanks

Their local rag reporter has said this about their Chairmans column tomorrow "Billy Sharp is in no rush to leave #drfc, says JR (their chairman). Find out which Premier League clubs are watching him, and more in Ryan On the Record."

Also said Donny have the day off today and Sharp has been left to ponder. Sounds like today could be decision day.
