yorkie1999 Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 i think this is more of a statement from doncaster that even if he does go they can at least say they tried to keep him. I'd be pretty naffed off we we sold our best player and then went down.
Marmite Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 http://www.football365.com/transfer-centre/7421260/NEW-DEAL-FOR-ROVERS-SHARP Doncaster putting together a new deal for him that is there best package in there history Up to Sharpe now I think
Head Honcho Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Think we probably need to start looking elsewhere if this is going to be a drawn out process. Could cost us up to £10 million for a three year deal which by any stretch of the imagination is more than what he's currently worth. Probably be able to snap up Jay Rodriguez from Burnley for half the price and imo a better prospect.
Arnar Gunnlaugsson Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Lad I work with got loughborough to Leicester train this morning (which comes from Sheffield) and says he saw an extremely unhappy looking Pearson. Dunno if there's anything in that?

Dunno if there's anything in that? What did you want him to be doing?? Sitting there grinning like a twat?

Dunno if there's anything in that? Not sure where Pearson live's now but he's a Nottingham lad so may have been visiting family there. I also doubt that Pearson would be still be any part of the financial wranglings so doubt he'd have been in Sheffield for that reason.............unless he went up to have a face to face with Sharp!
Libertine Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Looking seriously unhappy? Standard Nige then.
FrankieADZ Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 for some of known reason I cant seem him signing now dunno why...hope im wrong
jonlcfc1990 Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 What did you want him to be doing?? Sitting there grinning like a twat? This is the image i had of that Man- Morning Nigel! Nigel- :D :D :D :D
chili_con_carne Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 He's only scored 2 more goals than nugent this season, the only striker I would be excited about signing in this league is Rickie lambert. I reckon we should put a bid in for that Gary madine at sheff wed. Who else is there?
Shit_arse Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 People are missing the point here. If he wants to sign then we will sign him. If he doesn't want to sign then we won't sign it. Pearson Won't sign players that don't want to play for the club. If it doesn't work out then he will look elsewhere.
Libertine Dream Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Pearson lives in Sheffield, or thats where he was last time around.
DarkTranquillity Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Its going to be another frustrating transfer window.
Bettsj2 Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Its going to be another frustrating transfer window. Has there ever been anything else since it was introduced?
ithuriel Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Think if this we're O'niell signing him we would pull out, He never liked a player that faffed around like this on signing for the club which is why he knocked signing Thatcher on the head and got Spencer Prior instead. If we we're to pull out or threaten to pull out of one of these deals it may send a message we are not to be messed around with.
Callabinho Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 I'm not surprised it is taking a while, Doncaster have been there for Billy through what has to be the toughest period in his career, so as you can imagine this is a huge decision for him, he will have an emotional attachment to Donny, it's the parting from them that is the difficult part, not joining us. Sit tight and be patient. And please for the love of god stop tweeting him regarding the transfer, he is hardly going to respond is he?
dannythefox Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 He's scored 10 in 18 games that will do for me!

I agree to a point but the transfer market was very different back then. If we take that stance now then we wont sign anyone. The only player i've ever heard saying in public that he wanted to come to Leicester was Luke Varney. One other thing, I really hate it when people point out this sort of thing but, we're means, we are.
MikeyT Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Things are seriously never, EVER easy with our club are they.

Lesta Legend Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Doncaster have been throwing the money about lately and assume they are offering a fair wedge and apparently emotionally it willl be hard for him Donnys move will be the clincher in this situation for me And those brain dead people tweeting him 😔 shameful
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 If, as it seems, we could be in a right old ding dong to get Billy... I'd like Pearson to have a better look at Ched Evans. He's another player I suggested we enquire about in the summer and is in a similar mould to Sharp.. Young, good attitude, with a point to prove. No way the finished article but my point is he will only get better.
Wig_Wam_Bam Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 I get your point, but very strange examples. Lineker and Rush were both blessed with blistering pace. Rush was one of the quickest players I ever saw at Filbert Street and Lineker wasn't too far off either. Maybe being 30 I only remember Liniker and Rush nearer the end of there careers when they weren't so mobile. Sorry
Babylon Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 Can't see it mentioned, but it says in the Merc that they believe the fee to actually be £1.85 and not the £3m mentioned.

If we we're to pull out or threaten to pull out of one of these deals it may send a message we are not to be messed around with. Did we not do that in the summer with CMS. If as we are told Sven did pulled the plug after we had spoke to him. Did'nt seem to work in the summer so why do you think it will now. The player has all the power now days. You don't offer 3mill 28k a week rising to 40k in the prem if you are not keen on the player. Him and his agent know this and untill he turns us down any other club is gonna have to offer similar to us. So he can now bide his time for a few days to see who else pops an offer. The moment our offer was accepted him and his agent were incharge of this not us. In jan that goes for any player any club want's. Not saying the wages banded on her 28 and 40k are true but what ever we have offered Donny now have to get close too.
