Fernandes Gone

He's played for Switzerland in the World Cup and scored the winning goal against Spain and has played in the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1. But I suppose Pearson sees the Championship as far more superior to all of these, especially the World Cup.

Perhaps Pearson wanted to keep him but he wanted out after Sven left? We don't know the facts.

If he wanted to keep him he'd have been playing him. It's a joke a respected player like him is leaving us and that willy puller Wellens is going to keep his place Saturday.

Didnt fit into the the team with players we have.

He would have been good in a 4-3-3 with him being the DM, though with no wingers we have had to go back to 4-4-2 where it is hard to fit him in.

There's two sides to this though, we heard a while ago that he wanted to go as soon as Sven left. Nobody ever thinks it could be the players decision.

And come on, I did like him but he's hardly been amazing. As long as we pick up the players in January that we were going to need anyway he won't be a big loss.

Thread is already full of t*ts

Day after sven was sacked Fenandes was crying to the French press that he was leaving & wouldn't extend his loan beyond the minimum period

everyone seems to have had collective amnesia of the fact he doesn't give 2 fecks about us & wanted out

Yes it's a shame as on occasion he looked handy

but slinging abuse around at others is out of context with the fact Fernandes wants nothing to do with our club

Perhaps it is worthwhile considering that NP had no means of influencing this decision.

As I understand it the player came to us on loan having been approached by SGE and this was the main reason for him coming to the Leicester - his loan deal expires in January anyway and with the departure of the manager who enticed him to the Club then the connection has effectively been lost.

If the player indicates to Pearson that he will be leaving the Club once his loan period has finished then why would NP want to consider him in his plans whether they be short or long term?

Rediculous decision, unless Fernandes demanded a move - although had he been given the game time he wouldn't have wanted to leave. Wellens being picked ahead of him game after game deserves to be ranked alongside swapping Melrose for Tommy English in the all-time bizarre LCFC managerial decisions.

I was all for Pearson returning and still am (generally) but I can only hope he's targetted a couple of CM's because his loyalty to Wellens & Kingy is really worrying me. If we rely on these two donkeys we won't need to worry about promotion. It'll be really interesting to see whether NP is blinded by loyalty or whether he has the vision to make changes.

I have seen nothing to suggest he isn't so far.

I thought he was brilliant in the Cov game and came away thinking he was going to be the main man for us this season. However, to be fair, he was largely anonymous in his other performances IMHO.

Still, I wish him the best of luck in his career.

This, exactly This!!!!

Neither have I which is why I'm starting to worry. However, I've said all along that he shouldn't be judged until he's had an opportunity to bring players in.

It says alot when Udinese want him yet we leave him on the bench. Wellens and King wouldn't get near a Serie A side yet we play them over Fernandes. Embarrassing.

I have heard a rumor Milan are interested in Wellens at the moment, his part time schedule will fit in well with them apparently

He was a decent player but not the super player peeps are making him out to be, sad to see him go but he never really featured after Sven left and even whilst he was here he could not hold down a first team place.

I don't see this to be a bad thing, he should have been given a chance to prove himself but at the end of the day he is just cluttering up the wage bill (along with Michael Johnson) and if they aren't going to be involved they should be moved on. Wellens hopefully will be on his way in the summer once a good playmaker is identified.

If Wellens and the rest of the useless shite midfield are still on the books come the end of January then NP can well and truly f**k off.

Er, well no he can't, that's just stupid

I don't mind if they're still on the books - I just think they should be reserves - hopefully to some consistently effective midfielders.

Also, it's extremely unlikely that NP will be able

to sign all of his main targets - he'll be lucky to sign half of them. Therefore I'd expect him to have another crack in the summer. He'll be here to at least next Christmas and to be fair what can he do in less than a year?

Christ on a bike.

This lad is far superior to any other midfielder we've got on the books and yet we **** him off, leave him stranded in the reserves and persist with distinctly out of form (King) and just plain shit (Wellens) in centre midfield. Good to see we're still leading the way in crap decision making.

Some people on here need to calm down..he was hardly Maradona FFS. Setting apart NP's 'favouritism', it's hard to see what we're losing tbh. Sure, he looks a better alternative to King and Wellens at the moment (but let's face it, who doesn't?), but that's mostly down to the fact you can never put in a bad performance when you're on the bench!

The fact is, Fernandes didn't put in enough good performances to justify his place in a pisspoor midfield, EVEN under Sven, who brought him here in the first place. He was in every sense a Sven signing - too soft, lots of ostensible 'industry' but very little real impact on the game. Clearly hasn't been interested since Sven left so will chase the dollar signs elsewhere. Fair on him.

I don't think we'll win anything with King and Wellens in midfield. But that doesn't mean to say Fernandes was the answer...

I find this, (and not for the first time), to be really disappointing news

But he joins a line of excellent 'loan' players that the Club have for whatever reason, either cast aside or failed to secure as permanent signings - Mark Davies, Tom Cleverley, Ben Mee and Kyle Naughton spring particularly to mind.

This is how I feel really, some major overreactions on here. Sven didn't play him towards the end either, and it's not like he was winning games on his own.

He was a defensive midfielder for god's sake. I'm not saying I didn't rate him, but considering most people think our main problem is creativity he's hardly the answer is he? His game wasn't even about passing.

There are a lot of hypocritical people on here, when Sven was in charge there were so many lambasting and dismissing those who criticised Sven and said he didn't know what he's doing, they calling them impatient and biased against him. Now after a handful of games those same people are calling Pearson all sorts, before he's even had a chance to buy players, and telling him to 'fvck off' and the suchlike.

I've heard it enough times and now it's time for me to say the same, some of you lot need to get a grip and stop judging the manager after a few games just because he's not Sven (the man who left us with this poor squad).

Pearson is not immune from criticism and some have been fair but when you're elevating players like Fernandes to world class status then you clearly need to think twice before you question Pearson's role as manager.
