davieG Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 How can anyone comment on the rights or wrongs of a club/player contract negotiations without having one grain of fact on which to base it ?
Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Author Posted 16 January 2012 How can anyone comment on the rights or wrongs of a club/player contract negotiations without having one grain of fact on which to base it ? If you believe what the papers say we put a financial proposition of £28,000 a week for him, then NP comes out and says We have made the best offer we can make," said Pearson. "The door is not shut but you can only go so far. "As a club we have probably been guilty of going overboard in terms of spending on certain players so far. "As far as I am concerned, it is about building a team. It is not collecting players. I don't intend to do that. Then the agent tweets obviously should be taken with a pinch of salt that we not willing to meet his demands etc so my conclusion is that the wage he wants is certainly higher than 28,000 I could be wrong.

To be fair, it may just be his agent being hardball. Sharp may have already decided he wants to come but his agent is just playing a game to get (himself) more money.

I am tired of agent's mugging us because we are rich, tell them to do one and go for targets that want to play for this club, looking at players in the lower leagues, or abroad in Holland, Belgium and Norway their are some good players their that we could attract.
dannythefox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Sharp is not after more money ffs stop going on about it!
Bert Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Sharp is not after more money ffs stop going on about it! Keep telling yourself that, if that's what you want to think....
Horibbly Wrong Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Thats mental, to think that he would reject the move if he's only offered 26k rather than 35k that JB is on!
Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Author Posted 16 January 2012 If he genuinely wants £28k Greedy sod. We were willing to give him that he just wants more.
Babylon Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 We were willing to give him that he just wants more. You don't know that.
Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Author Posted 16 January 2012 You don't know that. Yes I don't know I was just making a presumption based on those newspaper reports, NP quotes and tweets from Bert, various agents all to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Danno Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Basically, Sharp knows Beckford is on 30K per week and feels if Beckford is on 30K then Sharp deserves more.
Lambert09 Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Can't believe how quiet its gone considering our problems....really hope Nigel has something up his sleeve

Thracian Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Whatever the details it is a certain that Beckford is on thousands of pounds more per week than he's shown he deserves and if others are getting less or even significantly less, no-one should be surprised if people are upset. I can't work out if it was Beckford's arrival that has prompted our downward spiral or the knowledge among various players that they were no longer wanted and would likely be on their way before the end of January. Perhaps neither factor has helped. Whatever, we've won one game in the eight since December 3 (or about the time when that FT poster said we could finish December without dropping a point!). Which makes me wonder what the manager's been paid and whether he perhaps doesn't think some of it should go to charity given what he's achieved.

It could easily be argued that Kasper and Konchesky are the only ones earning their wages at the minute, almost everyone else (and yes, that includes your precious Andy King) is underserving of the large amounts they get paid. Insinuating that our downward spiral has been due to the arrival of one player is nothing short of ludicrous, even for your standards.

He's hardly played he needs a run of 6 or 7 games to find some form. People like you are the reason hes failing. Against Barnsley we were awful while he was on the bench. And then beckford comes on and gets booed by his own fans then he dares to have a shot and gets booed again. I wouldn't blame beckford if he ****ed off the lad needs are support not constant criticism. If he's still not producing after a long run in the team then look elsewhere. There are other players who need to be criticised before beckford. Wellens, king, Gallagher, mills, are the worst culprits at the minute.

Not for creating unrest amongst the team... it helps no one...

No he's failing because he's either shit, not bothered, woefully out of form or all of the above. He was rubbish during a run of games under Sven, he was rubbish under Pearson and he has been rubbish coming off the bench. You can't blame anyone but him for his failings. I'm not writing the lad off, in the right team, playing the right way he might turn into an assett. But we aren't that team, and we are a million miles away from being it. So, as it stands we can't afford to carry a passenger.

Do you think people are in for a shock/reality check when they realise we will no longer be signing big unmotivated names on huge sums of cash? Delusions of Grandeur anyone? He's been baning them in. Quorn 27 (19) Alfreton Town 76 (45) Grimsby Town 27 (19)

Quorn 27 (19) Alfreton Town 76 (45) Grimsby Town 27 (19) I think some people are I'm excited that we're in for people we can hopefully build a team out of. Teams like Reading, Swansea & Norwich have been massively more successful, relative to us over the past few years, by uncovering gems which they have moulded into a team, forming solid partnerships all over the pitch, they then add to this team with sprinklings of individual talent. Wonder if "LIAM HEARN" will feature on one of those Thai promo vids
Liamlcfc1 Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Most of Norwich first team is built from players who started in non Leauge football if he scores goals lets get him in the big names have shown thats all they are.
