Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Was generally excited when the transfer window opened but am I the only one who's been left disappointed? Drinkwater and Ben Marshall LOOK promising but I still don't feel we have strengthened enough to see us challange for the play offs. I was hoping Steve Walsh could pull off a couple of master classess and find us a few hidden gems but instead we've been left with another center half and a striker who will only be here for another 3 weeks! Another winger, possibly a center midfielder and a target man are still needed IMO. Hoping we can now use the loan market but that's defeating the object of building a squad.
SystonFox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Build for next season la this ones over. If we win tomorrow we go 12th at best. Build for next season
chili_con_carne Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Get a grip the owners have spent loads.
Haydos Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Build for next season la this ones over. If we win tomorrow we go 12th at best. Build for next season 3 points off play offs. Tool.
burni Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If those players were realisticly available im sure we would of brought them in, I think the players we brought in were good signings. i would rather just a few good signings than collecting players like we did the last transfer window. Whilst i agree we didnt have an overwelming transfer window im still very excited to see how our new signings do in the upcomming weeks as they all look like they could be class! I think we played this window right IMO
Kitchandro Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I can't see us getting promoted, the squad isn't good enough. We needed another centre mid and a winger.
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Win tomorrow and we're right in the mix and as others have said we're building a side for next season. I'm more than happy with our additions, midfield looks a whole lot more balanced now. Next few games are going to be MASSIVE starting tomorrow night!
HankMarvin Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If Beckford can continue his form this will be like signing a new striker
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Schlupp & Waggy back soon they will be like two new signings, Bamba back from ACN, Drinkwater & Marshall are potential first team players. We didn't need anymore. I don't thing Del Fonz will last longer than the month tbh.
Guy Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 3 points off play offs. Tool. If we were three points off sixth place it would be nice.....!
m00nie Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 would have liked to see howard replaced.. and maybe another winger..
Gold Coast Fox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I can still see us making the play off's
leicestercity_ Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Build for next season la this ones over. If we win tomorrow we go 12th at best. Build for next season You cant be serious? a win tomorrow and 4 points off the play offs and still to play teams in and around there.
MrBojangles Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I'm disappointed by the fans who seem to think we're Man City. Picking up young, keen players from Premiership teams is nothing to be balked at. Have you seen the quality of player this club used to attract?
ajthefox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 3 points off play offs. Tool. Still got the loan window to come up. I was surprised we didn't sign another winger but bear in mind the above 2 points and the fact that we've been improving slowly as a unit and that we still have Schlupp and Waggy to return, I think we still have every chance of play-offs, not that I think we will mind.
biggs Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Lets just sort out what we have with what we have. Tons of money has been spent and we have easily enough quality to get into a playoff position. I know we are Leicester and when everything appears to be on the right track and we think we're heading in the right direction we pull off a couple of stinkers. That being said NP has shown his worth in the past and I believe he will show us a playoff position with this squad. The two additional signings is enough not to disrupt us any more than necessary and should solidify positions of some weakness. I'm optomistic with what we have now.
sbfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Why do some of our fans think that our scouting and management team are simply ignoring all these world beating strikers, midfielders and wingers? There's just not enough of these players and certainly very few that would warrant first team status. I think most Championship teams would be pleased with a midfield to choose from Wellens, Gally, Drinkwater, Dyer, Marshall, King and Danns. Sounds very strong to me...
Christoph Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I still think we need a strong full season of team building before we go into the premier league, we wont be able to grind out the wins against prem sides like we have against the likes of Swindon or Southampton. We still need a few more players but i'd rather we wait then rush into buying anybody because its the transfer deadline.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 Pleased with our 3 signings and our loan signing.
cc_star Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 Not sure why people keep ramming the "Fonz only here for 3 weeks" down everyone's throat... We can extend it if we need to, he's cover for Schlupp who may be ready by then, but if not we can extend his deal Good business grabbing Morgan, adds us a real dominating CB at the back as we've been mostly awful in the air there Drinkwater & Marshall will be great additions strengthening the midfield & out-wide, leaves us much stronger & far, far more balanced than we were, both extremely young too meaning they have chance to grow as players and be here for many, many years & hopefully turn into future heroes. I'm surprised we never got another CM on a short-term loan whilst we've got so many injuries there, but the loan window is open for some time anyway, should we need it. Importantly Kasper went nowhere too, that shouldn't be underestimated either.
Sods Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 We can still make loans, which Pearson has been good in the past, chill out if anything we are keeping out of the limelight. Now got time to get another midfielder on loan till rest of season, extend Delfounso. If not loan another.
mbmb10 Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 We have hardly seen any of our new signings play yet !
kingfox Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 With the signings we have made, and the injuries we have I doubt we will finish in the play-offs. We really need some loan signings now, I am disappointed because so much hype surrounded us we have the money and we were promised changes, they haven't really happened to be honest. Delfouneso is only here for a month aswell, we still have to put up with Gally or Dyer on the wings, and Howard on the bench. Not good enough Pearson, loan moves or see the team finish in a poor position it's your choice.
