'Dyer scuffs it in the 18 yard box' - this is why we should have replaced the useless twat. How many times are we going to have to see or hear about him not making proper contact with the ball? Nigel has had a chance to find a player who can actually kick it, but we are still having to put up with this guy. He's pace and absolutely nothing else. He can't play football. I'm a better footballer than Dyer, no joke.

Anyway, I wasn't able to hear most of the game but it sounds as if we were robbed again. The Beckford sending off sounded completely unjust. Also, I have to wonder why players are routinely sent off when they don't even make contact with the player these days, yet a tackle which injures an opponent so that he can't carry on doesn't warrant a red card. It sounds as if the Danns sending off was correct but no doubt caused because we only had 9 men when pushing for an equaliser.

This squad has never been good enough for promotion so the points gap isn't worth worrying about anyway. There are players that just aren't good enough still playing for us and we need to sort it out before next season. We've improved of late performance-wise but we still aren't creating many chances and are not grinding out enough results when we've played badly. Games like Middlesbrough where we dominate we need to be winning.

Oh well.

Can't really comment on anything I wasn't there, I hate blaming referee's but these last 2 games sounds like referee have really fucked us over, thing is i'd complain to the F.A and ask for answers but i've done it in the past and get no response/a automated reply that gets no-where or falls of deaf ears.

Again where's this respect campaign? Do they not respect the fans opinions? Do they not need to explain their decisions? Works both ways.

Whatever the rights or wrongs of the refereeing decisions where has our composure gone? And where's our commitment to winning? We need points yet, instead of starting with our two wingers and going for the game we tried to contain them first and then think about winning.

When, when, when are we going to go all out for victory from the start?

We never seem to make our own luck and I wonder where our discipline has disappeared to in getting two players sent off.

There are still lots of 17 matches and 51 points to play for but we have to stop playing cagey and start playing with the tempo necessary to win the games. And do so with the quickest and most dangerous players we have. It didn't sound as if we closed Brighton down quickly and high up the field in the first half. We sought to contain them.

That's arguably too negative for what we're trying to achieve anyway but we're considered a wealthy club by opponents and referees alike and both seem determined to do all they can to hinder our progress. So let's try to put success in our own hands and attack from the start.

I don't mean we should be reckless either. But we should press high and fast. And we should get our full-backs properly involved in sustaining attacks. Anything else and we've no chance of the victories necessary.

Crazy talk, Brighton along with B'ham were the form side of the division and playing at home.

If we'd have played with 2 out & out wingers leaving the midfield pairing to be over-ran you'd have been the first to complain about how tactically naive it was.

With our scoring run & glut of goals it's hardly like we've been defending our 18 yard box since the Barnsley defeat is it?

-----------------------------------------

Two bookable offences & subsequent red card for Danns has been coming for a while, has a player ever given away as many free kicks in useful positions for the opposition as him? Great energy & a not bad box-to-box player, but c'mon...

Results... refs... indiscipline which has dogged us right from the first game of the season, players that have flattered to deceive.

The only thing consistent is our inconsistency

On way home. We were robbed by the lino. He flagged for a foul by beckford at least ten secs after it happened. And nothing did happen. The lino reactes to the crowd it was a disgrace. I dont blame the ref he has to do what the lino says. Didnt even see danns ge sent off we left early on the goal. Robbed again.

Though peltier shouldbtake blame. He cant defend he is never in position when a ball comes.over and he was no where near it. Overrated.

Other than that we defended well but didnt take chances.again. Dd wasted one and dyera last ball was shit everytime.

Yet we were favorites with every single bookies before the game. It's crazy.

Most fast winger are... hardly any can deliver a ball

According to RL, Beckford's red card was supposedly for making contact with Lewis Dunk's face with his boot as he was running away from him - which a video replay proves didn't happen. Sounds like we could be successful on appeal.

Just at Lewes station, so more later BUT...

I didn't think the ref was THAT bad. Poor, yes, but that seems to come as standard for us.

If Beckford was sent off for foul and abusive language it's odd that the linesman didn't start flagging until a good 5 seconds after Beckford had spoken to him. He had rightly been moaning about the pathetic diving.

The tackle on Delfouneso is a yellow card all day. You can't make every tackle that causes injury a red, but at the same time it was cynical and a touch malicious.

Morgan should have had a pen just before they scored too, which was a kick in the nads

I'm not having that, there are a lot who can kick it and have some technical skill, we can do much better than Dyer. Literally 90% of the time he's scuffing it. Terrible footballer.

On the way back also. Don't think Beckford was sent off for the 'foul', it was his reaction to their player and/or his language. Danns definitely deserved a second yellow, was lucky to escape a straight red to be honest.

Peltier out of position for the goal, agree with that. As with Dyer, got in countless decent positions but was so wasteful. Not good enough I'm afraid.

Referee was awful, Brighton made so many cynical fouls, as well as dangerous tackles which went without appropriate punishment (including Drinkwater getting studied in the chest, for which we didn't even get a free kick). Anyone watching that game would've said Brighton would be the one with 9 men at the end, not us.

Shouldn't really disguise the fact we weren't very good in the first half though. Beckford and Nugent both missed guilt edged chances in the first half.

If that is true what frustrates me is that Dunk didn't (from the radio) make any sort of appeal for being kicked in the head, and I'm sure if the ref asked him what happened he wouldn't have said, I got kicked in the head, he may try and claim a foul but not to the point of trying to get someone sent off. Refs never actually talk to the players or listen to them, they all seem to be megalomaniacs, power hungry and arrogant. If the lino has imagined Beckford kicking him in the head and is wrong he really needs to be sacked, in the heat of the moment with bodies everywhere you can understand mistakes but when the play has moved on you cannot be making mistakes like that.

Who do you play for then?

No one, because I don't have the pace Dyer has. Dyer is living proof that you can make it as a footballer with pace alone. And that is why our country is shit at football.

i know what you mean and agree - probably loads of examples we could list of players with scarey pace but were porr finishers, or usually over hit the pass or cross - i like dyer for his effort as well, but don't see him as a player to get us up

Hey.

just dropping in to say fantastic support from you guys (the yellow was noticeable in places and the inflatables were a nice touch)

Promised you lot a ref that's out of his depth... although normally it's us that's booked to high hell ( didn't really see the Beckford sending off - was nearer you lot then me )

and comparing you lot to the rest of the league you definitely are in a false position - we had to really dig today to get something , your defence stood up for everything and you sure as hell aren't bottom half of the table fodder

safe journey back for those who travelled and the best of luck for all of you.
