Number 6 Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Hope neither of them stay up because of this. Will be cheering on Donnie in the coming weeks that's for sure. EDIT: Pmouth available for relegation at better than evens on Victor. Considering the points deduction could be 20 that's well worth a punt.
Happy Fox Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 20 points would kill them off, a relegation of Forest, Coventry and Pompey excellent news
Leicfox Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Money has killed this sport. It's always sad to see any team go into admin.
HEGGSY Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 At least cov and forest will still be in the Relegation zone on GD.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 20 points would kill them off, a relegation of Forest, Coventry and Pompey excellent news I would bet that if Pompey get 10 deducted that one of Forest or Cov will stay up, they wont both go. Pompey are at Forest last day of the season, love to be at that game as things stand!
MrSpaM Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Is this twice in the same season? if so thats a 24 point deduction isnt it?
StanSP Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 10 points docked tonight, Football League confirm. I still think current 3 as they are will go down (Coventry, Forest, Doncaster).
Daggers Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 10 points docked tonight, Football League confirm. Feeble - they should be playing BSP next season
MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Feels just like Groundhog Day with Pompey and Administration...
Guest shearfox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Forest no longer in the bottom three now...
Matt Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Forest no longer in the bottom three now... Both in the bottom 3 > Covscum in the bottom 3 > Forest in the bottom 3.
Raw Dykes Posted 1 March 2012 Posted 1 March 2012 I heard on talksport that Pompey might not be able to complete the season. Does anyone know what that would mean for the rest of the division? What happens to the points teams have won from playing Pompey? What happens with the games and potential points for teams that Pompey can't play?

Normally all points gained would be expunged and all results made void, as if they never existed.
Happy Fox Posted 1 March 2012 Posted 1 March 2012 The table would look like this is Pompey do go bust. 1 Southampton 32/61 2 Reading 31/57 3 West Ham United 30/55 4 Blackpool 31/54 5 M'Boro 31/52 6 Birmingham 31/51 7 Brighton 32/50 8 Cardiff 30/49 9 Hull 30/48 10 Burnley 32/47 11 Leeds 31/45 12 Leicester 30/43 13 Palace 31/43 14 Barnsley 31/39 15 Derby 31/39 16 Watford 31/37 17 P'Boro 30/35 18 Ipswich 30/34 19 Millwall 32/31 20 Forest 31/31 21 Bristol City 32/30 22 Coventry 32/28 23 Doncaster 30/25
Raw Dykes Posted 1 March 2012 Posted 1 March 2012 Normally all points gained would be expunged and all results made void, as if they never existed. Ta. I'm guessing an extra club from each league below us would get promoted to make the numbers back up to 24, wouldn't they?
NeilyBoy Posted 5 March 2012 Posted 5 March 2012 Reckon so. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Would hate to be a Pompey fan and see my team just vanish.
Mack Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Their wage bill is absolutely horrific. It's no wonder clubs get in trouble when they are paying hugely over the odds to players in unsustainable wages. Players need to to accept the bubble has burst and accept pay cuts.
RowlattsFox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Out of interest, what would happen regarding relegation this season if Portsmouth were to go out of business? Would only 2 teams go down from the Championship? But then if 3 come up from League 1 then there will be 1 less team than it should have so maybe only 3 teams would be relegated instead of a the usual 4 etc etc working its way down the leagues. I've confused myself writing this post

I've confused myself writing this post The consensus view in a previous topic was that only two Championship teams would be relegated and if the failed to fulfil their fixtures all points gained and games v Portsmouth would be expunged.
