dave the caveman Posted 20 March 2012 Author Posted 20 March 2012 But that's so often the reality. The people might seem like potentially "normal" workers but they're not. They're full of handicaps and hang-ups. Irrelevant. I'm not against insuring genuinely incapable people don't fall into extreme destitution, I'm against them being handed a luxurious lifestyle.
Parafox Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 I've said it before AND i'LL SAY IT AGAIN... My daughter is 19 she has emotional and some behavioural problems as a result of early life trauma and going into care until we adopted her. The result of this is she can't get a job because she has unfortunately got a police record. She is unemployed, she gets JSA £56 a week; out of this she has to pre-pay gas and electricity cards, pay water rates, top up her phone when she can, pay her TV licence, buy food, she buys clothes from charity shops. She manged to save enough to buy some of her own furniture when she got her own place. She isnt a scrounging lying scumbag. She is an unfortunate young person who gets the bare minimum from the benfits system. Is she the 1% ?
Finnegan Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Irrelevant. I'm not against insuring genuinely incapable people don't fall into extreme destitution, I'm against them being handed a luxurious lifestyle. Luxurious lifestyle? Have you ever ****ing been to Neston Gardens?
Parafox Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Luxurious lifestyle? Have you ever ****ing been to Neston Gardens? It's a completely depressing area, but I do thi nk it's made worse by many of the residents. I once went to an emergency call there and some guy had almost had his hand severed off by a sword during an argument

Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Rhubarb crumble and custard, king of puds. That looks like a bullet exit wound in a sweaty, jaundiced man. Rhubarb should be outlawed

Zingari Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 You can keep all your fancy sweetmeats , I like nothing more than a good serving of Nigella’s hot dumplings and squeezy buns
Daggers Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Luxurious lifestyle? Have you ever ****ing been to Neston Gardens? Not unless the care bus goes that way when he's returned from the day centre.
dave the caveman Posted 20 March 2012 Author Posted 20 March 2012 Luxurious lifestyle? Have you ever ****ing been to Neston Gardens? What's wrong with the place? The buildings are in decent condition. They have solid walls, roofs, doors, double glazed windows, central heating. They are of reasonably large size. Most of them even come with garden areas. I've lived in places in much worse basic condition than those properties when I've not been able to afford anything better. I'd be absolutely delighted to be gifted with the opportunity to live in a house like those for free. I'd have to change location of course, because the people who live around there are the kind of barely human parasites who attack each other with swords, but what do you expect from a bunch of benefit claimers? They're being given all of these nice houses for free, I don't see why the fact that they are so uncivilised and of such low morality that they then turn the place into a frightening hell hole really does anything to disprove my statement that these people are scum.

Rincewind Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Was not asked today if there had been any changes when I signed on. Makes a change.

Incredible. You appear to be making a logical argument until I stop to think for one second about the fact that you've read one guy's comment and used it to make a sweeping generalisation to use as a 'fact' backing your position. I've changed my mind, this is the best dessert:
General Smuts Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Never accept a chocolate brownie from Bernie. I learnt that the hard way.
RonnieTodger Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 How/why has no-one posted a picture of Jam Roly-Poly in custard!? If not that, a simple Chocolate Sponge Pudding would suffice, topped with either custard or ice-cream. I'm 67 stone.
