The all-new Expedition Mode designed exclusively for UEFA EURO 2012™ enables fans to build and compete with a customized squad against other European nations strategizing their journey through Europe. Plus, you will be able to relive dramatic moments from the UEFA EURO 2012™ qualifying campaign with challenges based on real-life matches, and replay key moments from the UEFA EURO 2012™ tournament. DLC out April 24th. Personally I'm glad they are doing something as I heard another company were doing the official game this year. I loved the World Cup 2010 game, was so much more fun to play and had more new developments than in FIFA 10 in my opinion, so slightly disappointed they won't be doing a full game release for Euro 2012, but its better than nothing. Thoughts?
Bugg Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Yes! Finally I won't need to fork out £40 for a game I'll be using for about 3 weeks. Good decision by EA.
MC Prussian Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 So, this DLC is free of charge then. Right, EA? You wouldn't need to milk the cash cow any longer with all the money you've earned through the FIFA franchise so far.
Finnegan Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 I actually think that's the best and one of the more ethical uses of paid DLC I've seen, actually. Very surprising coming from the biggest con artists in gaming. Fair play to EA.

Once you remove the cut retailers take and manufacturing costs of the disc and packaging, EA are probably making a similar amount.
kingfox Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Decent decision, I hope it just doesn't mess up. My fifa 12 is a right pain in the backside, everytime I go onto team management on a exhibition match it crashes. I also tried to download the new update for January transfers got to 99% and it crashes. Hope Euro 2012 doesn't do this on me, I think I have enough microsoft points still, but im worried that I will end up wasting them.
RonnieTodger Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Good news. Surely it will cost something though?

You've gotta go on My Fifa 12> Fifa 12 profile> Save/load/delete> delete and then find the file titled UGC data 1 and get rid of it...then redownload the update. Worked for me anyway

CKB Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 EA in something good shocker??? I assume it will be the engine as Fifa 12 and just simply branded with Euro 12 stuff?
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 It costs £16 on ps3 Oh aye it wont be cheap. Im with Finners, yes they will probably make a fair amount off it, but I'd much rather this than forking out £40 for a "full" game like they did in 2008. Although I'd say Activision and Capcom are the biggest con artists in gaming but EA are up there so this is suprising.
Dan Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Great news that is. About time too. The World Cup/Euro games are actually normally very good too.
AyewJoking Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 So EA are assuming everybody has an internet connection and an xbox/ps3 online membership?
DB11 Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 So EA are assuming everybody has an internet connection and an xbox/ps3 online membership? Well those that don't probably won't know that the DLC exists, so hey.
Danizen Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 They're only doing it because FIFA Street was released recently and they knew not many people would put up with three football games in 12 months. In two years, they'll be back to their grasping best.

Hollism Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 This comes out today I believe 1800 Microsoft points on xbox (£17.00 for 2000)
stix Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 £15.99 on the Playstation store. Available now. Will wait until others have reviewed it before i take the plunge.

Dan Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Unimpressed. Only played the demo but I think whilst the detail's impressive (as usual) the gameplay has made pretty much no advance what so ever. Might buy it nearer the time of the Euros.

From FIFA 12? If it's DLC for FIFA 12 then I can't see why it would be much different, if at all. Personally I prefer it that way anyway. The WC2010 game felt different to FIFA 10 (free kicks and shooting were the most obvious changes) and I constantly found myself having to get used to each game again every time I switched between the two. Got a bit annoying that I was skying shots in one, then tamely tapping them along the floor in the other.

The fact is - the gameplay has changed, so for it to not have taken at least one step forward is very disappointing, the camera's are totally different for starters, it's more like Zenit's ground now. I actually don't see myself shelling out £15 odd for this. I like all the official licenses but not enough to shell that much out for. If it was to have every clubs ground on there however....
