davieG Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk...gazine-17543356 My income is 39% of the United Kingdom average and 81% of the world average NB Obviously people can work out what you earn so if you don't want them to know don't say.
jonthefox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 89% of the uk and 184 % of the world. . still permanantly broke though.
Jon the Hat Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I am lucky as hell on the global pay scale. Born middle class in a wealthy western democracy with a decent brain in my head and a work ethic from my family which pushed me to use it. Left Uni when there were jobs, got one, never been out of one since except when I wanted to.
pSinatra Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 78% of the UK average 163% of the world Still don't seem to have a pot to piss in. It is always nice to earn a little bit more........but lucky enough to be in work, in a job I thoroughly enjoy & a whole lot better off than some.
dave the caveman Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 It's a shame they chose to use averages. It would be more dramatic if they said how many people are above and below you. I like the way that kind of statistic makes the perennial moaners about this country be quiet for a while when they realise that even minimum wage workers here are richer than the vast majority of other people in the world. Gives a nice sense of perspective.
Bert Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Mine fluctuates from 96%-115% dependant on the hours I work.

Same here apart from the brain part!worked mine out but felt a little uneasy and might seem big headed but i think i earn my wage and have had a degree of luck.

The luck is in the opportunity, not everyone takes it. I certainly earn my money. Sometimes wonder if it is worth the hours and stress!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 79% UK 164% world Notice Jon didn't put any figures up - fair play to him, probably doesn't want the working classes getting suicidal, cos who would polish his shoes? Though I guess we should just be glad Wymesy rarely posts now. I'm guessing the figure is a mean average, which would probably see the top 15-20% of wages occupied by 4-5% of the people (probably less).
purpleronnie Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Mine fluctuates from 96%-115% dependant on the hours I work. lend us a tenner
stix Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 lend us twenty? I get to see very little of my earnings, according to severn trent i am personally to blame for this years hosepipe threats. Well thats the conclusion i came to by reading between the lines on my bill. Dont get me started on the gas bill! Think we should find out if bert has done any overtime this month, maybe he can lend us a tenner each?
Steven Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 In spite of what this might say, I still feel I am not earning enough.
Stevosevic Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Your wage is $5,882. The world average is $1,480. Your wage is 192% of the United Kingdom average and 397% of the world average. These figures are in PPP$
stix Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 lend us fifty? <preempts purpleronnie> Get in line Trav... ...get in line.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 What I want to know is why isn't Stevosevic in the poll for "favourite poster", cos I'd vote for him!
Stevosevic Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 What I want to know is why isn't Stevosevic in the poll for "favourite poster", cos I'd vote for him! Probably because i am a banker.
