Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Do we need one? A striker doesn't have to be a 'target man' to be able to hold the ball up, shield it and bring others into play. I'd rather see football played at pace and on the floor than lumping it up to a player like Futacs!! Is Lambert a target man? I don't think so? He's just an in form striker who can score goals with both his head and his feet and has an appreciation of others around him. What kind of Lambert have u been watching because the lambert I have been watching is very much a target man, southampton play everything into his feet!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 What kind of Lambert have u been watching because the lambert I have been watching is very much a target man, southampton play everything into his feet!! Exactly mate.. Most of the players suggested on the thread are aerial target men. And Lambert has scored lots with his head too.
dave_the_fox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Darius Henderson is ****ing wank. That he tore us a new one is testament to how poor we've been at times this year, not how great he is. Agreed. Talk about average journeyman championship striker.
goose2010 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Kind of agree that we don't need a target man what about Leon best? Not really a target man but knows where the goal is
dannythefox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Bothroyd for me he's not cutting it in the prem.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 ^^ I thought this he isn't getting much of game, although I imagine he would go back to Cardiff!? I also never realised that he was 6 foot 3!!
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Although Most would like Becchio is he a pearson type player!?
RonnieTodger Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Jay Bothroyd if QPR get relegated. Sign Heskey even if he just sells the burgers. I just want him back at Leicester
Walshy5 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Good shout for Bothroyd. Not getting many games at QPR and proven at this level. Failing that Kevin Davies. Granted he's getting on a bit but i reckon we'd get a cupple of good years out of him. Look at Kevin Phillips at blackpool.
Cropwellfox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Chris Wood would be a great signing. Failing that would take Simon Cox too although different types of striker - might just be that WBA would have an interest in Mills too...
vinnieno1 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Yakubu, Bobby Zamora? As and when Blackburn and QPR are relegated.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Lukaku on loan... failing that I'd take Villa from Barca, not getting much match time
TheUltimateWinner Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Kevin Phillips is free this summer... Player/Coach 2 Year contract anyone? Yes i've been playing too much football manager.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Kevin Phillips is free this summer... Player/Coach 2 Year contract anyone? Yes i've been playing too much football manager. would be very suprised if they dont keep him on he has got them out of alot of trouble this year and i would imagine he is inspirational in the dressing room!
KidKunny Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 I wouldn't say Henderson is a target man. Grant Holt? Long shot though...
Happy Fox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Norwich City are interested in Chris Wood, apparently Steve Morison is down the pecking order their he would be well worth a punt imo.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 If true then norwich are daft i rate chris wood very highly but steve morrison is miles better tbf!
acooling08 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 How have British teams faired in the last two major tournaments? Yeah because that's all down to over reliance on target men.
