Target Men

To be fair their are quite a few options out their that are quite realistic just to name a few:

1.Becchio- I know people don't like him because he dives abit but this lad is great in the air and has shown that he knows where the net is the past 3-4 years!

2.Traore- Must be honest found out about this lad whilst playing FIFA he plays for a bottom half side in the Russian premier league he is 6 foot 8 would cost around 3m but has a rocket of a left foot and is a beast in the air!

3.Henderson- Been really impressed with him this year I think he is on around 18 now in a team that doesn't have a great amount of service.

4.Heskey- Obvisoly a hero down here and would Proberbly be the cheapest option of all considering that his contract runs out in the summer and I doubt they will renew.

5. Fuctas- He would be one of my last options I think he just had a good game against us and that's it especially since Liston gets in ahead of him although he is young and would be available on a cheap considering their finance problem!

6. Zigic- I know it's unrealistic that we would get him but if we fail on all of our other targets then surely it's worth testing birmingham's resolve!!

So he's not good enough to get a start for 23rd place Portsmouth? And you want him here?

Wasn't Marshall warming the Sheff Wednesday bench a few months ago?

Zigic seems decent...

Anyone but Heskey. He is not simply not good enough for a team aspiring for promotion and would certainly want an above average wage salary.

One man... LACINA TRAORE! Great target man and scores goals followed him from his days at FC cluj and I see big things and he's holding his own in the Russian prem against some top quality free spend teams, Nig... This is our man!

No idea tbh. Was he warming the bench? I thought he was very highly rated there?

Do we need one?

A striker doesn't have to be a 'target man' to be able to hold the ball up, shield it and bring others into play.

I'd rather see football played at pace and on the floor than lumping it up to a player like Futacs!!

Is Lambert a target man? I don't think so? He's just an in form striker who can score goals with both his head and his feet and has an appreciation of others around him.

Wouldn't say no to Heskey being the legend he is, but maybe it's time we get our new Heskey :thumbup:granted he wont be from our academy but i reckon the scouting team will be on the case this summer. Keep Howard on to share his experience and BOOM. Not sure it's Nigels style to splash the cash but that Henderson does look good, I don't think he would come cheap though?

Watch a lot of Academy football do you ?

Being realistic I would go for Henderson 100% brilliant player, or Rob Hulse yes he is former Direby but still he scored quite a few goals for them, and isn't getting played at QPR.

So, Steve Howard is coming to the end of his career and, lets face it, isn't the player he was. But every club needs a target man for options up front. So, who would you bring in in the summer?

In my eyes, a cheeky bid for Sheffield Wednesday's Gary Madine wouldn't be a bad move. Granted, he's playing at League 1 level, but 18 goals a season (and not finished yet I'm sure) from a target man is a great haul.

Not convinced Heskey is the answer as many have suggested.

Anyway, discuss.

If we're using games to form legitimate opinions on players, that Wilfried Bony at NAC Breda looks like a must buy! Go on Nige, trust FM on this! :D
