In the end I gave up on it. But I will say we have made more of a fight of it than I ever thought we would.

Been supporting them since 1970. Excitement and optimism is what football is about, thats why every club thinks this 'will be our year' during pre-season.
davieG Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Do we actually need to win 4 in a row, surely it depends on the 3 teams just above us doing better than or the same as us and their current form puts them 14th, 18th and 19th while we're 3rd equals. It's a really long shot but not impossible. I come from the land of the pessimists, ask anyone the best I ever predict these days, that's even if I bother is a draw. I think we'll just miss out but there's nothing wrong with people feeling optimistic. Remember 1996 4 games to go 59 points = 8th place Next 4 results = WWWW = final position 5th

It's unlikely but the fact we are still so close after only winning back to back twice shows how shit everyone else is aswell. If you look at each teams run in, we have a chance, until that chance is gone might aswell hope for the best. It might even be best we are in the position we are in, if we were in 6th, we'd have it all to lose, which could bring a negative mindset and I expect we'd bottle it with this team. Instead we have it all to gain, which means hopefully, we will be positive.

If we don't believe in our team then why carry on supporting them. Realism goes out of the window at kickoff! Of course logic doesn't enter our minds will we do it? probably not can we do it? yes, stranger things have happened And i'm sorry but anyone old enough to have watched us in the 70's would not abbreviate please to plz
