chris_lcfc_85 Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Not read through all of the pages so apologies if im repeating myself... The booing at the end and the booing of Gallagher was a DISGRACE!!! I dont care if Gallagher or Wellens or whoever else is not your favourite player, you dont boo while they're playing. Thats emabrrassing behaviour! Has anyone noticed Gallagher doesnt celebrate with the fans when he scores now? Or applaud after a game? He's prob sick of the constant sh*t he gets.... Dont get me wrong, i think he's been average at best this season and wouldnt start him in games but i dont boo my own players during the game! Yes it was a dull and boring game, frustrating too but AGAIN people go too far with critiscm and abuse. I personally felt there was effort there but no spark/cutting edge and no decent service to the forward players.
ozleicester Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Can't be arsed to read all the doom and gloom in the rest of this thread. Imo none of our players played badly but not especially well either. Burnley packed the midfield and defence and we lacked the spark to break them down. Having said that we did have 4 or 5 shots on target (and most of the possession) without really making their keeper exert himself. Very dull and disappointing but it wasn't for lack of effort. flowwolf Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I thought the boos came from burnley. Anyway, we need to get off Gally's back. Some of Marshall's corners were dreadful, but no-one batted an eye lid. No i couldn't bat an eye lid either I had fallen sleep.
yorkie1999 Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Just didn't get the mentality of burnley. Whats the point of shutting up shop when theres nothing to play for. we weren't going up or down and neither were they. If i were one of their fans last night i'd have felt pretty pissed off at forking money out to watch my team shut the game off. Unentertaining boring rubbish.

Think we did pretty good at shutting the game off as well. Was i dreaming or did they nearly win the game with a shot that left Kaspar standing while it hit both posts ? We were the HOME side but you could not tell the difference.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I had low expectations going into the game and they were barely met. I just got the impression that neither the crowd or the team had any belief that things were going to go our way and the atmosphere and performance reflected this. I got the impression that quite a few ST holders didn't bother going, and I expect there will be even fewer on Monday. Could it be the crappest atmosphere ever?
breadandcheese Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I felt we should have gambled more. Burnley came for a point and sat there. It didn't matter if we lost last night, so should have had a go at them, committing fullbacks further forward and pushing up more as a team. At times, there was yellow shirt up with 6 blue shirts around him. As a result, we were never going to win. It just felt like we ended up 0-0 without having a real go at them.

Manwell Pablo Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Seems to me the way the results have gone we'd have had a massive task on to get the play offs even if we'd won last 2 games so dunno what the fuss is all about.
Number 6 Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Really? 17 teams have scored the same or less at home and 16 teams have scored the same scored less away on a quick count. It was shit, but lets not make sweeping statements hey. I'd stand by it. Or at least one of the least imaginitive. Our method of creating goals is getting the ball out wide, whipping balls in the box and hoping something breaks. We might have the occasional long ranger but for the most part I think we look clueless in the art of breaking a defence down unless the roll over and let us. Given the recent success of Forest and Burnley we should expect many more teams to come and park the bus, why shouldn't they when we still haven't been able to come up with a solution?
Webbo Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Plastic Mod I'm relieved to say I don't have to moderate this forum.
ADK Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 We need more strikers simple. Neither Nugent or Beckford have looked very good for some games now. When you play 4-4-0 its not very likely you will score. But unlike our other promotion rivals we have only 2 strikers of any quality. I don't mean to disrespect Howard or Schlupp but they don't have the quality to be part of a promotion chasing strike force. I don't want beckford to leave the club, but his form is inconsistent and we need other options. Pearson brought in two good young players in marshall and drinkwater which for me has greatly improved our midfield, but we failed to bring in another striker either permenantly or on loan until the end of the season.

The best way to beat us is to sit back and break on counter, even Stevie Wonder would be able to tell them that. I can understand why they did it, if they had got a goal on the counter everyone would be praising them for their tactics.
IdiotequeFox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 (Evening all longtime lurker first time poster) Was at this one - I don't think Fat Sam Allardyce could of provided worse - roll on summer.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Couldn't beat Burnley at home! Need I say more?

Not like we didnt try to get another striker though was it? I think we'd be in a much better position if some of those winter deals would have worked out
