Happy Fox Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 We will see hey but he would be a fantastic signing.
ousefox Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 He would be a very good signing, would be satisfied with this if we don't go for Heskey.
jimmer Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 No mention of lcfc anywhere http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=501&fid=468&sty=2&act=1&mid=2114661775
Nick Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 He is rarely on the pitch due to his disciplinary record.
Big Dave Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 He is rarely on the pitch due to his disciplinary record. He will fit in perfectly if our disciplinary record last season is anything to go by.
wellyfox Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 So Stoke want to re sign n he's coming here Don't believe this for one minute Stoke would be paying him a prem wage N we could not do that with FFP. Sorry not gonna happen IMO
MrSpaM Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Wouldnt surprise me for a second tbh, and would be an excellent signing. We've been given the impression since the season ended that there would be some significant quality added to the side, and this would fit the bill.
Jace Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Nigel Pearson must of made him an offer he couldn't refuse...
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Is it only me thinking this? I've always rated Fuller.. Big, strong bloke with a decent finish. But is he not also now well past his best (same as Heskey)? Another ex Prem player who may be a touch over the hill? And, if I'm correct, pretty injury prone. Not being pessimistic... Just putting it out there. I'd rather see someone about mid twenties, again with a point to prove.....

Big strong centre forwards with a good finish and in their mid twenties stay in the premier league. They don't drop to mid table championship sides particularly with FFP
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Im not thinking prem league strikers Aus, rather from elsewhere... Whether it be the English leagues or abroad. I'm just not convinced that a 32 year old, a bit injury prone and possibly joining us because he's out of contract now is the way to go for the future of the football club? As I said before, I've always rated Fuller.. Perhaps not so much anymore And not when we are trying to build something for the future. If Fuller joins he could easily do a Roberts at Reading and score important goals. But I'd like to see someone younger who could be the main striker, along with Nuge, for the next few seasons.

Maybe Nigel thinks we have enough young or inexperienced or unproven strikers already. How many do you want? The 19 year old from Leamington, Vardy, Schlupp, Hopper, Waghorn + others.Let's fill the team with young or unproven or inexperienced players and see if that bring us promotion!

I said a striker in his mid twenties? Either from the English leagues or abroad? Why would he have to be 'young or inexperienced'.. ? What point are you trying to make?

No, you're not the only one thinking this. I thought the same. Great player on his day but how often was it his day last season?
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 I'm still liking the look of Keith Andrews in the Ireland games. Looks very tenacious and can pass a bit...
Danno Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 I'm still liking the look of Keith Andrews in the Ireland games. Looks very tenacious and can pass a bit... Would you consider selling King and Wellens? If we signed Andrews we'd have far too many CMs and keeping them all happy would be difficult
KFS Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Would you consider selling King and Wellens? If we signed Andrews we'd have far too many CMs and keeping them all happy would be difficult Is that a serious question? Offload Bellens and get Keith Andrews on a free? ALL DAY SON.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Would you consider selling King and Wellens? If we signed Andrews we'd have far too many CMs and keeping them all happy would be difficult Yes to both
Mark_w Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Yes to both You'd sell King? That's very short sighted. Sure he's had one bad season but he did have injuries and lets not forget what a good job he has done in the last few years before this season. Andrews is about 30-31, King's not even in his mid twenties, surely we'd be better off having King develop here for 5-6 years rather than maybe 2 or 3 of Andrews?

Yes I would sell King and Wellens and Gallagher...
Happy Fox Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 Andrews is a yes from me wouldn't be bothered if King and Wellens left they aint good enough, King has potential but has stagnated here he needs to move on imo.
Mark_w Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 King has potential but has stagnated here he needs to move on imo. He's had a few good seasons proving he can do it at this level followed by one bad season. He absolutely deserves at least another year, you think one bad season isn't enough to say Beckford who is much older should go despite the fact he has never done anything for Leicester. I'm not trying to turn this into a Beckford debate, I know that isn't exactly necessary, but I'd love to know what makes those two situations so different to you.
Criggers Posted 14 June 2012 Posted 14 June 2012 King might be better than Andrews by the time he's 30 but we could pay his wages to someone else now and in the mean time. It doesnt matter about development now. King "developed" in league one and had a solid year in the champ following that. Unfortunately injury hurt himast season. King has a lot to prove this season. He isn't young and upcoming anymore.

I just feel the midfield presents itself in such a way that King and Wellens cannot play together in it well when they have done so it has been a disaster, Drinkwater and Danns for me should be the central midfielder partnership based on the evidence I have seen so far, on the bench I presume James will take the place, I cannot see King being to happy on the bench can you?
