Kitchandro Posted 14 May 2012 Posted 14 May 2012 Before people start deconstructing the rest of your argument, I'd like to know where the evidence for this so called 'punch' was? I certainly didn't see Tevez throwing fists. They got a bit tangled up as a result of a coming together, but Tevez hardly clocked Barton in the chin, did he? Yeh it was a bit of jostling and a girly slap, not worthy of a telling off let alone an elbow to the face. Not that I don't like seeing Tevez get a smack.
Daggers Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Michael Owen made a career out of going to ground and even Lineker would drop under the slightest of touches. And my OAP father adores pizza.

Yes , but those players could be considered as being from the post johnny foreigner influence era . Where are the oscar winning actors prior to these ? my 85 year old mother in law loves Vesta curries
buzzy Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 someone just needs to put 2 bullets into barton knees so he never walks again and rids football of this scum for good

Matt Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Gotta agree with 12 match ban for what he did v 8 match ban for racism argument, how does that work? But what he did is indefensible, if he didn't have such a bad attitude and wasn't such a liabilty he'd walk in the England team, as a player I really like him but he is abit of twat, I thought he'd got over his problem's and sorted himself out, obviously not,
21st Century Fox Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 He probably got the higher end of the ban because he publicised on Twitter afterwards that he did it on purpose and was deliberately trying to get a Man City player sent off with him after he had already been sent off and was leaving the field. Do they take priors into account also? Anyway be interesting to see who he's playing for next season.
Jimmy Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Barton has previous that's why he got 12 games, if Suarez did the same thing again he'd get a lot more then 8 games next time, but I doubt he'll be a dumb as Barton
foxfanazer Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 He is an absolute bellend! Don't even rate him as a footballer either so god knows why anyone bothers with him. Aguero doesn't deserve to play football again?
MrFox781 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Football without Joey Barton? IMO would be a loss to entertainment.
Fox92 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Decent footballer, just ruins himself. If his attitude wasn't so poor, I'm sure he would be at a bigger club than QPR, no disrespect. Someone shut Twitter down, for his sake.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Right I'll probably get stick for this, I don't condone what Barton did and I don't like the guy. However I'm getting sick of foreign players rolling around like they've been shot when contact is made, yes contact to the face is a red card, or getting a knee into your knee is a red card but I've never known anyone to roll around and scream like Aguero did. As I said I don't agree with Barton's behaviour but footballers these days deserve to take a real hit so they actually know what it feels like, fed up of watching players scream and roll around on the floor for what would be a fair challenge or minimal contact and I understand it's not just foreign players now, it's getting beyond a joke.

Two further violent conduct charges, which amounts to six more games, maybe a game for the appeal against one of the charges, not sure about the other one, but you can see why it's a lot of games.
