AoWW Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Doesn't it creep you out slightly that they market directly at children because they know pester power means that instead of selling 1 meal they're guaranteed to sell 2 or 3 more because it gets parents through the doors. It's the whole foundation of their business. As responsible as most of us are there are people who feed their families that crap quite often, it goes on for generations and puts a strain on the NHS. If tobacco companies are restricted in the ways they advertise, why shouldn't fast food companies? Not really.
Daggers Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 The thread title creeps me out - someone please fix it.
stix Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 These are burgers... http://www.cheeseandburger.com/ THIS is a burger.....
Rincewind Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Went in the one near town hall square today. Had a cheeseburger meal Thinkit was £3.79 Pros Chips were better than I though Burger had some meat taste in Coke refreshingCons Nearly swallowed a mouthful of ice every sip from the coke Ingredients in burger bun hid the taste of the burger Fries a small quantityOverall not too bad but would not visit on a regular basis and did not see the great attaction. Different type of people in there. Opposite two women and young child happily dipping chips in small carton of sauce while women rabbited. On a nother table middle aged woman having burger and fries. Shirted businessmen coming and going for take aways. Various other teenage upwards coming and going.
Rincewind Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Yes I thought that afterwards but I never asked for that much ice. Maybe they had nicknamed it the Titanic cola.
AjcW Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 2 year old Burgers... mmm I'm pretty sure the idea of that photo is to make the point that there you have two year old bread and meat and there's not a single bit of mild in sight... Which begs the question... What the **** kind if preservatives do they use! Haa.

RonnieTodger Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Sixty three mother-fvcking stone What a fat disgrace. I hate people that are that fat with a passion. Can't beat a Maryland when you're pissed and very hungry.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 What a fat disgrace. I hate people that are that fat with a passion. Can't beat a Maryland when you're pissed and very hungry. I actually felt mildly sorry for her. She won a scholarship to a fat camp in the U.S. dropped 15 stone, then came back home and ballooned because she got no support from her friends and family. She's her mum's carer and her parents carried on eating in what I assume is a suicidal manner. ...back here ... I felt alone. My parents weren't doing it with me at home, and my friends weren't doing it at college. I know I have no one to blame except myself. But I don't know how to change things." Usually I wouldn't have a huge amount of sympathy but she obviously has psychological problems and doesn't exactly inhabit a healthy environment. I'd lay more of the blame at her parents from the looks of things.
Webbo Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 I don't want to judge this girl because she must have mental problems but if she is so fat that she can't get out of the house then somebody must be feeding her these calories. Maybe her enablers have mental problems too.
Guest Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 A lot of the time, these people are desperate to lose the weight, but they don't want to stop eating, and definitely don't want to start exercising, as it hurts. The increase in bariatric surgery shows that people would rather risk their lives on what looks like the "easy option". All a gastric band or bypass does is force the patient into using portion control, but it's now been seen that this can be overcome over time by people who are either addicted to food, or the feelings that they get when eating.
potter3 Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Can't believe this thread is 8 pages long and nobody has mentioned the Starburst milkshakes they're doing at the moment. Amazing
