Carl the Llama Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 I really hope Caroll doesn't get to start again - every time he gets the ball he wastes it with a terrible pass or a poorly conceived shot. As a team we really need to stop letting the other team play as they like. It certainly won't work against better opposition - it's a testament to Norway's toothlessness that they haven't properly breached our defence yet more than anything and our punts forward are childishly amateur, but so are most of the passes when we play along the floor so there's no winnning. Roy's got his work cut out.
Guest Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 AO-C will be a top player in a couple of years. Well if he plays this season he'd better step it up. Plays like a schoolkid.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 So..... everyone picked their alternate team they'll be following after the group stage?
Guest Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Is this Norwegian team from that island prison? So..... everyone picked their alternate team they'll be following after the group stage? Can't imagine that too many of tonight's lot will be in the team.
Webbo Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Shouldn't take too much notice of friendlies like this but England were awful in the second half, fvcking dreadful, couldn't string 3 passes together.
purpleronnie Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 We're always terrible at keeping the ball, no matter what side he puts out every team we play will keep possession better than we do, its been that for years we have to accept that, ....whats important is what we do when we're in possession....hopefully more than we did tonight.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 England are always shit in friendlies. Of course they are often shit in proper games too. That Tournoi thing was good because it had sone vague purpose. These are just training really. We do have really mediocre players though. Sadly hoping the same old guard of Terry Cole Lampard Gerrard and younger Rooney can add some spark.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Can't ask for more than that. You can. But a win is a win.
MooseBreath Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 About what I expected. We're not a very good team, we still won't be a very good team by the euros. It would be foolish to invest much hope in this team, so perhaps anyone getting angry or upset about this should do themselves a favour and work on accepting that we will fail miserably.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Ireland, on the other hand, looked very threatening in their 1-0 over Bosnia. Hit the post twice!
Kitchandro Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Typical England match. Score 1 (if we're lucky) then try not to get injured for 80 minutes. Horrible mentality. You can say 'it's just a friendly' but we adopt exactly the same mindset in the group stages.
Fox in the North Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Not too fussed, we play the same way no matter who we play. At the end of the day we won so I won't be crying over it much.
Corky Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 You can. But a win is a win. We're a pretty limited team with a new manager that has worked with the squad for 72 hours.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Jones is gash Amen to that. Taking a guy who can play in a number of positions is fine, but not if he's ineffectual in all but one of them.
BlueSi13 Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 Didn't see the match myself personally but have heard about our rather poor performance overall. In truth it isn't surprising, we are an average side playing away from home with a new manager, it was never going to be great. I think 99% of English people realise that we aren't going to have an effect this summer so in truth id like to see us blood some of the younger players to give them a taste of a major tournament.
AyewJoking Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 What are the positives of last nights performance? Green didnt make a blunder Young looked lively anything else?
AyewJoking Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 Barry got injured All that means is Jordan Henderson rises a notch in the pecking order
Super_horns Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 Typical England match. Score 1 (if we're lucky) then try not to get injured for 80 minutes. Horrible mentality. You can say 'it's just a friendly' but we adopt exactly the same mindset in the group stages. I see the we're too tired excuse has come out already from some pundits. Maybe becase we cannot keep the ball well enough?
purpleronnie Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 In other news the USA pissed all over the scotland team, not difficult granted, but still pretty funny.
BlueSi13 Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 In other news the USA pissed all over the scotland team, not difficult granted, but still pretty funny. USA 5-1 Scotland Craig Levein
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 We are shit, but it could be worse, I'd fuking hate to be Norweigan, turned over by a shit secondrate English team on your own patch and they have to face being the only nation to finish behind us in the European Song Contest all in the same day.
