Don't they have a Brazilian national team full back playing on de laets position already??

Yeah, maybe we should have signed him instead. That might have been good enough for kingfox.

Last line in latest Mercury article reads;

'It remains to be seen whether Whitbread and Pearson will agree terms.'

So maybe not as done and dusted as some people have claimed.

Hope this is confirmed officially soon because the longer these things drag out, the more doubtful they become

For what it's worth (and as a hull fan of course you won't care for my opinion) I think he's an excellent signing for you lot. Clearly I'm delighted it makes it less likely you'll be getting James Chester but whitbread has always impressed me when I've seen him play. I actually think he's probably better suited to you than Chester in any case as a partner for Morgan.

If Nigel had the Sven mindset, he would have thrown 10million at Hull to get hold of Chester. I'm glad he's got the ability to find able replacements for turned down offers. Well done NFP!

Maybe Nigel Pearson is being very clever signing a player who will only play 20 games per season. Means SSL will also get 20 and be happy to stay. Also think if Maguire is a good prospect he should be signed and loaned back to Shef U for the season to gain more experience along with Schlupp. Maquire is in the league 1 team of the season playing at the top of that league. Parkes, Bolger and Taft are only at league 2 and conference level at the moment so he is the greater prospect now.

It's been on the bbc since tea time - still won't believe it until it is on the official site

Oh fair enough, don't think you will have long to wait.

Man Utd reserves is Man Utd reserves, like many players he failed to adapt to the first team. Man Utd fans said he wasn't good enough for the step up.

Also why didn't the likes of Preston and Sheff Utd extend his loan? Simple answer, because he wasn't good enough.

I know for a fact that he was poor for Norwich last season, getting dropped then having your loan cancelled doesn't look good does it?

I just have little confidence in him, I would prefer to see a better right-back come in with better experience, and De Laet used as cover for right-back and centre-back.

Just don't think he is good enough to start, sorry to disappoint.

So let me get this straight.

You're basing your argument on the fact he couldn't get into the Manchester United first team and that he couldn't get into a Premier League Norwich side?

lol ****ing hell, only on FoxesTalk.

For the record. The reason Preston didn't extend his loan was because Man United wanted him to get experience at a higher level with Pompey and he only went to Sheffield United for a 30 day emergency loan.

If you're going to criticise a player, at least do your ****ing homework

I was looking at the Norwich line ups and by the pattern it seemed, he started then got injured, came back then got dropped to the bench then had his loan cancelled.

You talk some shit.

I watched pretty much every game he played for them and he didnt look out of place in their team at all. He was sent back because he picked up another back injury and was put on the bench because the defence was playing well at the time and would have been unfair to drop someone.

Does anyone think NP will still go after HM because of ZW fitness issues?

No. I think he'll go after a guy called Sean St Ledger, because of ZW fitness issues.

St. Ledger already plays for us. I don't think NP is that daft. Sven might have been.
