Why are you people always trying to find a reason to not like a Pearson signing - how about remaining, or trying to form opinion after you've seen him play? ...instead of constantly trying to look for a negative. We're not massive, get used to this.

I've seen the majority of people being positive about Pearson's signings but Whitbread seems to be the first one I've seen where people have been negative towards it...

Koren, people have commented on his age. Futacs, some have said we don't need a big front man. I would go as far as saying 75% of the time when we are linked with a player, someone will look for a reason to not sign them. E.g - Harry Maguire - "not having pace" etc.

We're not massive, get used to this. This is a bit different, he's not criticising Whitbread's ability, just his injury record. He has a point too, Whitbread seems to have a succession of injuries. Norwich fans on the link posted above say that he was their best CB though, and expected him to go to Villa, so it's clearly worth the risk.

My point, is that a select number of people on here seem to look for a negative in every rumoured transfer. Where in that does it say i think Pearsons signings are perfect?

Where in that does it say i think Pearsons signings are perfect? Well every example you said was true. Whitbread does have a terrible injury record. Koren is close to his 32nd birthday. Maguire does lack pace. Just because Nigel Pearson is the one signing the players it doesn't mean we've got to want them. I personally am not keen on Whitbread because he didn't get a new contract from Norwich because of his wage demands and injuries. You have to realise that there are going to be negatives in every transfer, whats the point in ignoring them?

We're not massive, get used to this. its not a "pearson" thing. it will happen with EVERY manager.. would be kind of dull if everyone agreed on everything...
Leicester_Numan Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Forget about his injury record. Steve Walsh's injury record wasn't great but he's possibly our best ever central defender. For every Walsh there is a Kirkland though, but a quality defender on a free is well worth the risk

Seeing this thread has excited me no end. living in Norfolk hearing a lot of gloating budgies, The actual ones who know a little something about football were seriously gutted that he was realeased. my good friend has said he will be a terrific signing for us and hearing him say that has filled me with a lot of confidence and now i really am hoping that this guy joins us. COME ON U BLUES this is our time!!!! x
