AyewJoking Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 modest 2-1 win I reckon. Is anyone setting up a results prediction thingy for this season?
darko2k7 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Schmeichel RDL Moore Morgan Kennedy Marshall Danns King Dyer Vardy Schlupp
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Like to see: Kasper Moore Morgan Parkes Kennedy Marshall King Drinkwater Dyer Futacs Vardy Give a few of the squad players a chance ahead of Posh.
Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Schmeichel De Laet Moore Morgan Kennedy Gallagher King Drinkwater Dyer Futacs Beckford Subs: Konchesky, Whitbread or Taft, Nugent, Danns, Vardy, Logan, Marshall Just realised how strong our squad is as thats leaving out Schlupp, Waghorn and James. I'd save James for Saturday and worry about his injuries from last season so he'll need to be used carefully.
Fox92 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 I personally wouldn't field a "weakened" side. I perhaps would during the season, but considering this is the first match of the season, I'd like to see us gel even more. That could only benefit us. A defeat could possibly decrease morale ahead of the Championship season. As well as this, we have seen many Cup shocks before, and already this season (such as Morcambe beating Blackpool).
foxesfan1989 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 I'm pretty damn excited about this game. "Buzzing" as SSL would say...reckon we will see 8/9 of the team that starts on Sat? Most interested in the front 2 to be honest. Thats unless Pearson deviates from his beloved 442. I would like a 3 or 4 nil win to send out a message, but ill take a competitive 1-0.
Grey Fox Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 I expect to see a strong side in our first competitive match: Schmeichel De Laet Moore Morgan Konchesky Marshall Danns Drinkwater Dyer Nugent Vardy I agree, I think it will be close to this. We could easily see James for Danns, Gallagher for Marshall, and Beckford for Nugent from the above though. The others should make up part of the bench.
lcfcsnow Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 how many are we supposed to be taking to this? Lots out in Torquay, can hear a group singing somewhere
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 will the match be live on bbc radio tonight? Yes, all of them are
ScouseFox Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Whitbread's Twitter seems to suggest he's not travelled, he's just asked Konchesky "how's the seaside pal?" or something along those lines. So he mustn't be match fit.
stevelcfc Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Logan moore rdl morgan kennedy gally danns king dyer schlupp vardy
indierich06 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Hoping for... Kasper RDL - Morgan - Moore - Konch Marshall - James - Drinky - Dyer Becks - Vardy
indierich06 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 For me, we should be using this is an extra opportunity to give the lads who will be starting on Saturday some extra match fitness.
ballso Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 City team to face Torquay United tonight: Schmeichel, De Laet, Konchesky, Drinkwater, Morgan ©, Marshall, Vardy, Dyer, James, Beckford, Moore. Subs: Danns, King, Logan, Waghorn, Gallagher, Schlupp, Nugent.
Fmfox Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 the fact that schlupp is the only sub who could play defence is a bit worrying! Hoping for... Kasper RDL - Morgan - Moore - Konch Marshall - James - Drinky - Dyer Becks - Vardy good guess!
ballso Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 it's a pretty strong first eleven though, be very interested at how we go!
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 City team to face Torquay United tonight: Schmeichel, De Laet, Konchesky, Drinkwater, Morgan ©, Marshall, Vardy, Dyer, James, Beckford, Moore. Subs: Danns, King, Logan, Waghorn, Gallagher, Schlupp, Nugent. That's our best team isn't it? Minus Knocky? Nige is taking it seriously then. Beckford continues to play.
Mark_w Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 That's our best team isn't it? Minus Knocky. Nige is taking it seriously then. Well Nugent's not starting.
Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 City team to face Torquay United tonight: Schmeichel, De Laet, Konchesky, Drinkwater, Morgan ©, Marshall, Vardy, Dyer, James, Beckford, Moore. Subs: Danns, King, Logan, Waghorn, Gallagher, Schlupp, Nugent. Very nice! Surprised there's no Kennedy or Taft on the bench, or Futacs.
Stopper Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 That's our best team isn't it? Minus Knocky? Nige is taking it seriously then. Beckford continues to play. Surely nugent would be in strongest team ?
Salieri Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Glad he's playing a strong side, shame no Knocky though.
