La Liga 2012/2013

You seen the table? Atletico are 5 points clear of Real in 2nd. Barca running away 11 pts further up though...

Dont worry, a nose bleed is imminent, especially when Atletico sell all their decent players to stay solvent.

What a boring league this has become.

If someone is not done (which it wont be) they are heading the same way as the SPL, Greek Super League etc where one or two teams dominate and the rest end up bankrupt.

Most League's are now basically two way divisions.

Premier League - Man Utd and Man City

La Liga - Barcelona and Real Madrid

Bundesliga - Bayern Munich and Dortmund

As you say SPL and Greek League

But Barcelona and Real Madrid have better quality of players, they are a joy to watch even if they end up winning 4-0, 5-0.

Absolutely nothing like Man U.

The Premier Leauge is healthy, competitive and getting stronger because of the way the TV money is distributed.

Whereas La Liga's wealth is sucked up by just a couple of clubs, and the rest are withering away apart from a couple of exceptions.

United have won the vast, vast majority of league titles since the Prem started and in that time they've only really had one challenger at once. Moreover, both of the most recent challengers had to buy their success and everyone saw them coming.

How is that not predictable and dull?

The last day of the season last year was good but the campaign itself was just the usual two horse race.

The Bundesliga is a pinch less obvious but most of the big leagues are dominated by the few teams with Champions League money.

This sort of rubbish is just jealous rhetoric spouted by idiots who don't even.bother watching other leagues, they just "know" they're boring.

Because it's not true.

Man Utd have won 12 of 20 Premier League titles to date, that's is a little over half, hardly the vast majority.

In addition they are and have been challenged by Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Blackburn, Aston Villa and Liverpool and Arsenal.

In fact as our top league continues more teams get involved in the hunt rather than less, with emerging teams like Spurs and Everton making it even more interesting.

In contrast Real Madrid and Barca dominate Spanish Football.

This is because they don't have even distribution of TV rights money in the main. Their system is hugely floored, and the greed of the two biggest sides will only see it get worse.

You think Spurs and Everton are legitimate challengers for the title?!

I think they are getting closer and building something long term.

Meaning more teams are getting involved in the hunt, rather than less.

Surely Spurs have got further away considering the last few years? They were only 6 points off top last xmas I think.

The problem is apart from Utd and City everyone has got worse (and City have as well this year). This used to be a fantastic league 4-5 years ago, an Arsenal with RVP, Fabregas, Nasri etc had to battle to finish 4th. Look at the state of it now. Pisspoor.

But all they'll be challenging for is top four, they can't and won't compete for first.

There's Atletico, Malaga and a recovering Betis all doing alright in Spain it's just that the Classico gets all the headlines.

It really is no different to here at all.

At what point did more than 1 off the above challenge at the same time?

City last 2 years.

Chelsea before that.

Arsenal 8 or 9 years ago.

Its always a 2 horse race.

Ramos scores and then gets sent off. Two yellow cards in less than a minute. His 16th red card of his career, is that a record?

Messi has now scored in 19 games in a row in the league. Against all 19 teams. Unbelievable.

I went to watch Granada vs Real Betis tonight, it was a cracking game, but i've never seen a more bizarre game with a result that really did not match what I saw. This'll give you an idea...
