I'd much rather have Ronaldo in my team than Messi. Ronaldo can win games on his own whereas Messi needs Iniesta and Xavi behind him.

Messi provides goals AND assists, whether Xavi or Iniesta are playing or not.

Cristiano only provides goals and a few tantrums.

While you're kind of right (although CR has 22 la liga assists in the last 2 seasons, suppose you've overlooked that though), why do you act so bitchy about him every time the subject crops up? It's sad when people can't appreciate one of the most talented players ever just because of a couple of minor flaws that don't have anything to do with his ability.

Do you dislike Ronaldinho because of his fall from grace, Zidane for his headbutt, Ronaldo for his weight gain, Best for his partying?

Why is that quote in your sig? Seems pretty relevant...

Surprised the figure is that high. Obviously it's nowhere near Messi's tally during the same period, but it's still impressive.

Like it or not, the ego and the dramatics help make Cristiano what he is. So does the inferiority complex which kicks in (and among his fanboys too, it would seem) whenever the subject of Messi is mentioned.

Cristiano's records, both in Madrid and Manchester, speak for themselves. He is one of the most gifted players the sport has ever seen.

But it'll annoy him intensely for the rest of his days that his time in Spanish football has largely been spent in Messi's shadow.

Ronaldo's scored 120 goals in 108 La Liga games since he moved to Real.

In the same time period Messi has 123 goals in 112 La Liga games for Barca.

So Ronaldo's league goals/games record is actually, very slightly better. Splitting hairs, but I'd say it was very unfair to say Ronaldo is "in Messi's shadow". Barca have been better than Madrid over that period of Ronaldo vs Messi, but there is more than the one man on each side.

aaaand Falcao bags the winner in injury time. Might've been an own goal actually, hard to tell.

Atlético now have 9 wins in a row in all comps and are joint top of La Liga. 8 points clear of Real...

Was at this match. Atmosphere at the Vicente Calderon was unreal. Immense sound from all parts of the ground. From this sole experience, Spanish fans are unbelievably passionate about the team and the game itself. At times it was almost deafening just hearing how much noise the fans make. Credit to Malaga fans making the long journey up to Madrid - only about 50-75 of them but surprisingly made a lot of noise when they equalised.

Was my first match outside of England and so glad Atletico won. Winning in the final minutes of the game was just a little bonus!

Falcao is a beast of a player. Bound to come to England one day but I hope he stays at Atletico for a while.

Great match that Real Zaragoza played against Real Madrid, unjust defeat, but... R.Madrid is R.Madrid, if someone has watched the game, knows what I'm saying

This season we are playing so good, but unlucky to score more goals, Postiga is in a great form.

Movilla with 37 years old, is living a second youth, and Jose Mari and Victor Rodriguez great signings from the 2ªB division.

This weekend against Deportivo de la Coruña, and then against FC Barcelona.

Yeah I heard that too. From the conversation they went on to have about not involving kids in such a big game part of me thinks they may have meant that 65 euros is the cheapest ticket anywhere in the ground for any age group, and if that's the case I'm amazed there's anyone there at all.

Pretty sure I've just heard the commentator's at the Mallorca Barca game say the cheapest ticket for the game was 65 euros, mental.

Indeed. Still cheaper than many London Premier games, mind..

Meanwhile, goal machine Messi took his tally for the season to 21 and total for 2012 to 76 - two more than the entire City team have managed this year!

Our friend from Zaragoza will be rejoicing the fact that his team beat La Coruña 5-3 yesterday, after being 2-0 down in the first 21 minutes.

Must've been a great game to watch.

Meanwhile, FT user "Messi" is lurking.

One of the best games since we won 6-1 to Real Madrid, Real Zaragoza started the game with two goal occasions, then Deportivo shooted 3 times to Roberto's goal and two goals, with two big mistakes of Zuculini, who was changed in the minute 30, and Aranda went into the game, then a stupid penalty commited by Deportivo de La Coruña, first yellow card to Pizzi, and goal from Apoño, then in the second half, 3 minutes and Pizzi second yellow card due to simulate a penalty and then goal from Montañes to the 2-2, then goal from Alvaro (great centre back) and two more from Helder Postiga, and in the last minute Bodipo scored for Deportivo.

With the 0-2 my friends an I thought to go and have some beers, but the referee whistled the penalty and everything changed.

We have only two points of distance with the Europa League position and 5 with the relegate positions.

This Saturday at 8pm against Barcelona.

Wow....Falcao is ON IT tonight.

Apparently he was offered to Aston Villa by River Plate in 2009 for £7m.

Villa would've ruined him and he'd now be back in Spain's second div anyway so what does it matter?

Even though its probably a MySpace myth
