Corky Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 What's Stoke fans problem with him? he played 30 odd games for them last season so if he was that shite why did Pulis play him? Our fans slate players despite them playing virtually every week. Not every player who's a regular is popular.
Happy Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Our fans slate players despite them playing virtually every week. Not every player who's a regular is popular. Yes I am aware of that I just don't think he would of played much if he was crap so he must have something about him if Pulis was playing him in the side?
Corky Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Yes I am aware of that I just don't think he would of played much if he was crap so he must have something about him if Pulis was playing him in the side? Maybe he's a manager favourite (like most of our squad)?
ibbosuk Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Not very odd, if you think Pearson is just try to put out fires within his own squad........
Bugg Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Shotton is actually a centre half, but due to Pulis insisting on having a long thrower in every game plus his hatred of Jermaine Pennant, he got shunted to RM or RB for most of last season, he even used him as a Striker in a few games.

crisp packet Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 But "cover" makes no sense, does it ?? It means that if what we already have "fails" again, we then play someone who wasn't good enough to dislodge them in the first place ??? If they aren't better than what we already have then I don't get it ???? To get there fitness up ? That's all I meant ?
AKCJ Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 What's Stoke fans problem with him? he played 30 odd games for them last season so if he was that shite why did Pulis play him? Gallagher played 30 odd games last season...
MGLCFC Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Gallagher played 30 odd games last season... Really - would never have thought that.
ian the fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 But "cover" makes no sense, does it ?? If they aren't better than what we already have then I don't get it ???? quite right , lets consider any futher signings as "for the first team "after the start to the season weve had lets make the current squad fit around the new signing ................thats the way forward for me .........
Bettsj2 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 He's too good for us so like Spearing I dont see him coming here.
sdb Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Average RB. Good throw. Hope it doesn't mean Moore's off. We need a LB more.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Didn't he play for stoke yesterday? i'm sure i heard he made a couple of mistakes
MGLCFC Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 At 6' 3" thought he'd be a centre back, but would add good cover in several positions. Typical type of Pearson signing, if it comes off.
Jaspa Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 I know Shotton doesnt play left back, but with us letting Tom Kennedy free we would have a hole In defensive cover Think we might lose a Striker in the next 2 days aswell
oxford blue Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 I'm rather doubtful on this one as Shotton signed a 4 year contract last november. He played in half of Stoke's games last season, so I'd think he would be considered part of Stoke's regular first team team/subs. He'd therefore command a transfer fee and also premier league wages. If LCFC are interested, they will have watched him last night (I hope!): "Good to see Shotts linked with a loan move to Leicester today. Just hoped Leicester didn't have any scouts there last night." (From Stoke fans message board)
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 It'd only be a loan deal. He's not gunna be starting at Stoke for a while at the moment. We haven't enquired officially yet though. Have very reliable information from a few at Stoke so if we do make any progress i'll post straight away.
Happy Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Big Wes!! †@ lee1978lcfc @ John__Percy Anything in the ryan shotton to leicester story john? Expand Reply Retweet Favorite 3mJohn Percy †@ John__Percy @ lee1978lcfc was told no earlier. Higginbotham still an option but he would prefer a permanent rather than a loan
MGLCFC Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Higginbotham would be a better option as he can play left back as well and is ex Man U so would fit in with all the other cast offs.
Jaspa Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Dont know if this has been posted previously, but Stoke fans online dont seem to want him gone in majority http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Potters&action=display&thread=198235 Would be a good singing for us, but RB is pretty much covered and I doubt he would come to backup Konch. So I would see Higginbotham as more probable, but for me less desirable
