Happy Fox Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Anyone surprised with Tranmere's start to the season? Which team do you think is likely to get automatic promotion?
Corky Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Sheffield United will be right up there, along with Notts County. Tranmere might be the surprise package. My current interest is towards the foot of the table though
Happy Fox Posted 20 September 2012 Author Posted 20 September 2012 Sheffield United will be right up there, along with Notts County. Tranmere might be the surprise package. My current interest is towards the foot of the table though Coventry will finish in the playoffs if they can get Mark Robins in it may take time their to get promotion don't expect them to get relegation though imo.
kingfox Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 All the team's in the top six right now could get promotion, League 1 is like the Championship this season about 16 teams are capable of promotion. MK Dons and Doncaster will be up there I think, Coventry may storm up the table with Robins in charge, a good manager, and his squad is pretty decent for League 1 level, they just haven't gelled yet. Bournemouth aswell under Groves could push for top six, they have a massive squad, have the money and have the talent. Lee Barnard, Josh McQuoid, Lewis Grabban and Matt Tubbs if they can start scoring Bournemouth will be a serious danger. They have just signed Edgar Davids cousin Lorenzo aswell.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Yeovil will drop off, in my opinion. They'll get quite a few draws and they won't lose by much, but I don't think they'll stay up there long. Tranmere haven't had a big test yet, but Ronnie Moore knows what he's doing there. I think we'll be up there, we just need to start converting some of our chances and we'll be away. Preston under Westley will be my ones to watch, they should be up there, they're expected to be up there, but they weren't great last season and Westley's pretty much brought a whole new team in. A lot of the teams towards the top now have had great starts but I'm not sure how long they'll be able to sustain it. County are the best team I've seen us play so far, but even then they couldn't keep it up in the second half and we should have gone on to win. Will be interesting to see the table in a month's time. (Dons v County was one of the better footballing matches I've seen in a long time, looked like a game from a higher league.).
foxesfan1989 Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Notts County, Preston and Sheff United for promotion. Keith Curle seems like a top bloke and top manager so really expecting a lot from County this year. Coventry are a laughing stock at the moment but they will do okay, mid-table probably, maybe higher. Swindon will be far too erratic under Paulo to get promoted this season. He is doing a fantastic job, but if he wants to be a Prem manager one day, his man management will have to change...a lot. People say Pearson's man management is poor, yet its 100x better than Di Canios.
Fox92 Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 I wouldn't be suprised to see Coventry up there towards the end of the season, Robins is a good manager. Always fancied Preston to make the play offs at the very least.
General Smuts Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 How no one has mentioned 2nd placed, unbeaten Stevenage yet, is beyond me. Continually improving season on season and got to the play offs last year. And this year we have Patrick Agyemang!
Finnegan Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Love a bit of Tranmere. Would be fantastic to see them back in the Championship with Stevenage promoted just behind them.
Corky Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 He does have those blinding games on occasions. Blackpool and Sheffield United away spring to mind.
Leicesterpool Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 I think Tranmere, Sheffield United & Swindon are going to be in the championship next season!
Kitchandro Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 I'd like to see Sheffield Utd and Notts County come up. Don't mind Tranmere either, we've had some memorable games with them back in the day.
MC Prussian Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 Chris Weale's having a great game for Shrewsbury. I'm surprised nobody has told the other teams in the league how susceptible he is against shots from distance.
BHAFC Braders Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 Creepy up for sale http://www.theargus....ut_up_for_sale/ Getting out before it all falls apart it seems.
Tom17LCFC Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 MK Dons keeping their World Cup Qualification hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Gabon according to Sky Sports.
StanSP Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 Portsmouth beat Coventry. Off-field problems affecting on-field performances? Doncaster look set to be promoted. Who do we think will join them? So tight at the top there - Tranmere top for so long and now have gone down to 7th over the past month or 2.

Sheffield United are too good for League 1, while I would like Bournemouth or Brentford to join them, preferably Brentford.
