Obviously they weren't concerned enough to actually do anything about it. If Gambacini knew, why the feck didn't he act immediately instead of waiting for the tabloids to expose him? Cowardly.

I have no idea why anyone would cover or overlook something as serious as what is being alleged......regardless of who they are. According to tomorrow night's documentary two other BBC 'stars' were witnessed behaving inappropriately around kids. They're not named because they're still alive and can thus sue for libel. It's just possible that a lot of this was going on but was systematically covered up. Reports are also now making the newspapers that Jimmy Savile visited the home at the centre of the Jersey care home scandal on several occasions, having denied any memory of visiting and taken out a super injunction against newspapers publishing a photograph of him there. That doesn't mean anything in itself, of course, but is worth investigating given the current accusations.

I'm not sure why people are finding this so hard to believe. Multiple women claiming he abused them as teenagers, colleagues claiming to have known all along. It's little wonder that sex abuse victims find it difficult to come forward when the response is "he could be a bit forward, nothing illegal though". These claims aren't new. They've been doing the rounds for years. And now there is a tonne of evidence coming out. He did it. He was a pervert. That people liked him once upon a time is neither here nor there.

Saw a Louis Theroux docu on him a few years ago and he did seem odd, but nothing shouting out. Word is now tho, that this was a very well known fact in the higher parts of the industry and many of them just kept quiet Anyway

This is exactly how I am feeling, either this is some bizarre smear campaign, or there were a lot of people, who knew what he was doing, including journalists, and colleagues and they did fvck all about it, and are just as culpable for letting it happen. I hope all of these cowardly fvcks, (not the victims by the way, I can understand why they didn't do anything about it, or that in some cases were ignored) get asked publicly why the fvck they didn't say something and hope they understand they could have stopped, they didn't and they have the rape of young girls on their conscience. As for Jimmy, he was a creepy fvcker at the best of times, but this is disgusting, it is just such a shame that none of this came out when he was alive and he could have been stopped and made to answer for it.

My little lad came home from school last night with a competition to give a name to 4 new gritters the council had bought for this winter. His answer ,Gary Gritter! i pissed myself laughing.He was wondering what was so funny,I couldn't go into much detail to a 9 year old,who would go into school telling the teachers that his dad was laughing at the name. Comedy gold my son.When I grow up I want to be just like him.

That's such a crap argument. What does him being dead have to do with it? If he was alive he'd just have got his lawyers involved and either took an injunction out or made these poor women look like liars. Multiple women have come forward with similar stories. Colleagues have backed it up. The police have had complaints. There is lots of evidence now to suggest that he liked touching little girls. Why on Earth would anybody stick up for the pervert versus the victims?

What it does do though is demonstrate that Savile had a reputation for the sexual abuse of underage girls. I believe the 'transcript' was considered for Brass Eye's paedophile episode, but they decided against because of the legal consequences. If the likes of Chris Morris weren't brave enough to be go public with a mock-up transcript it's little wonder that the victims were too frightened to speak out. It seems fairly obvious to me that there was a cover up at some level, at the BBC if not across the entire UK entertainment industry and perhaps even beyond. Tomorrow's documentary has somebody claiming to have witnessed to other BBC 'stars' doing things they shouldn't have been doing with kids. This whole story has the potential to get very big indeed. The Guardian has the BBC Director-General being called by MPs to explain the abandonment of Newnight's investigation into Savile's perversions a little while back; that might turn out to be just the start.
