5waller5 Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Well they've all played in the first team and they're all physically fit, I don't know where the grey area is to be honest? Wes Morgan is Wes Morgan - he's a machine and I'm sure he's bang up for Saturday's game. Whitbread's match fit now, he's only out of the side due to suspension, Moore has established himself in the first team squad and he's match fit too. The only one with a bit of a question mark is Keane, but Pearson said they withdrew him on Tues as a precaution and he should be ok for Saturday. So why do you think we only have one fit centre back on our books? Because it seems quite clear to me that we have AT LEAST 3. Yes, sorry you are so right. The world is that black and white. For some people a 19 yr old loanee that has a handful of first team appearances, a 19 year old in his first season of first team football and someone that has had a couple of iffy performances due to being rusty and lacking match fitness, and then being suspended wouldn't count as strong options for a first team start. Maybe I'll just make it more clear and stop trying to debate ..... Personally, if i were manager of LCFC I'd be regretting the day I sold Bamba as he'd be straight in my side right now. Better?? Can you deliberately misunderstand this point too??
Babylon Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Judging by Pearsons comments about those he let go he sounds positively thrilled to be rid of every last one of them!
Danno Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Anyone reckon Pearson told them to lay into Mills?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Judging by Pearsons comments about those he let go he sounds positively thrilled to be rid of every last one of them! not half Babbs, seems like there is more harmony these days in fairness to NP
Babylon Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Anyone reckon Pearson told them to lay into Mills? They wouldn't of done it if they didn't want to. I have my own ideas on what happened last year against Watford that caused it all but have little to no proof. If what I heard was right its not a shock.
Unabomber Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Anyone reckon Pearson told them to lay into Mills? Don't think it would've taken too much persuasion.

Do tell My understanding was he lost his rag and starting laying into teammates in the dressing room, the defenders in particular, unhappy that they were being picked ahead of him. Was it something along those lines...or something more sinister?
Babylon Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Enlighten us? I don't know for sure so I won't speculate too much as its not fair. But purely based on what I heard from a third party what was said above was quite close to what I heard with a bit more. But who knows really.

Can you deliberately misunderstand this point too?? So when you said we only have one fit centre back at the club, you just meant you didn't rate the other ones who played for our first team? The fact is all these players have played for the first team this season and have contributed to us having the second best defence in the league - maybe not Keane as he's only just signed, but do you think Pearson brought him in on loan to play for the reserves? Regardless of what you think of them, we have plenty of options for central defence on Saturday and its obvious that by claiming that we only have 'one fit centre back' you're trying to say you don't rate our other options - well just call a spade a spade and stop claiming that we don't have any options - we do, you just don't rate them for whatever reason. Is that black and white enough for you...?

You dont know the reason as to why Bamba was sold, i liked him but you an no one else on here knows what happens behind the scenes or the reason he was sold but i trust Pearsons judgement an believe were better off without, we have 6 that could play CB if needed. plenty of cover now
Babylon Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 HAVE!! Sorry I do know the difference, forgive me my blip!!!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 People often talk about players who have been sold as though they are just commodities who our manager has decided to get rid of. Bamba went to a team who had just finished third in the Turkish Super Lig and had qualified for the Europa League. I doubt it was 100% Pearson's decision. Similar principle with Beckford - it's easy to say we shouldn't have loaned him out but if he's not given value for money within our budget and saving his wages means we can afford the likes of Knockaert then it's difficult to argue with. I also don't understand the idea that Matt Mills is a "big name" based on his transfer fee. If that's the case then surely Waghorn is a "big name". What has Mills ever achieved? Getting to the play-off final, one game further than Wayne Brown and Jack Hobbs got us in 2010. This has been a waste of time, hasn't it? Oh well.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Babs is spot on... The defensive partnership of SSL and Morgan THIS season is the tightest in recent times.

Charl91 Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Babs is spot on... The defensive partnership of SSL and Morgan THIS season is the tightest in recent times. I wasn't that impressed with SSL and Morgan last season, but they do seem pretty tight this season. Let's hope that continues!
CosbehFox Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Anyone reckon Pearson told them to lay into Mills? Most likely. We all seen how easy it was against Reading that Mills gets effected by barracking. Enlighten us? The rumour is Pearson did some judo chops. Well I am led to believe it was the rest of the backline who wanted to kick the s**t of him. Was described to me that staff at the training ground I'd never seen a player so 'hated' by the rest of the squad. To add Beckford is apparently a pleasure during training, he just never really wanted to be here in the first place. Big name? Never. Big ego. Constantly seen on his own in town. Never tweeted team-mates. A stone lighter Morgan has proved to be a far better signing.

Becks, nice guy, professional, just didn't want to be here from the start, and MM ... utter knob, very easy to dislike.
seenitall Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 I don't think many people have said that though. Most people have said they were delighted to get rid of him because of his attitude, which is fair. If it was based on football ability alone his averageness might warrant him a place in the squad but nothing more. seenitall saying he'd want him alongside Wes is a joke. Even if he was good enough (which he isn't) the fact that he ignores the fact he had a bad attitude, his own fans/players/managers disliked him and he didn't want to be here and work hard,is why he and Mills are getting a slating. Its not like people weren't questionning him whilst he was playing for us. Maybe a few people are blindly biased towards Pearson and anyone who is in the team but I don't think you can accuse people of that in this thread, if anything there's been a backlash to seenitall's blatant bias against Pearson and the players who are currently in the team. So much so I got banned - but the fact remains, we have a kid from Man U, one of our kids and a clogger who has struggled to establish himself at centre back and Wes Morgan - Whitbread I have yet to see but the reviews on here, from all at the games suggest he is pants. No Konch or Whitbread tomorrow and suddenly we look light - how is anyone going to feel if Wes gets injured? Yes all our 'big' name players have been let go and perhaps the replacements will rise to the occasion but to claim that this is a Pearson 'haters' thing is weak even from the stupidly blind faithful - is the guy doing so well he is above any conversation about his weaknesses or doesn't he have any anymore?
Babylon Posted 10 November 2012 Posted 10 November 2012 Whitbread tomorrow and suddenly we look light Whitbread is available. how is anyone going to feel if Wes gets injured? The same as I would if Nugent or Drinkwater did. Yes all our 'big' name players have been let go and perhaps the replacements will rise to the occasion They have so far.
