Millwall - Match Thread

What is the excuse when we win? That we physically out battle a side? Give me a break, we havn't out battled a side since M'ON left. When we win it's because we play well, we keep the ball and move it around. We are not doing that today and it's that reason why we're not holding the ball.

We need a midfield that (if we're going to play this passing game) can actually hold onto the ball and pass it around without being blown over by a swift breeze.

And we're not doing it today because we've been out-battled, second to every loose ball and they haven't let us play. In case you haven't noticed, there's a team that's trying to stop us playing and by the sounds of it they've done exactly that today. This was just so depressingly inevitable and predictable.

Why are we so inconsistent people ask.....

Because we try and play the same ****ing 11 players each week.

The most successful team in football history have only named a unchanged side 3 times under fergie.

We cannot just impose our style on teams, we are too weak and never up for the physical battle, hence we are often so poor in the winter.

I wish I'd put some money on this now, would've been sorted for Christmas. :(

Think I'll wait til someone at the match gives their impressions ta.

Morons why?

It's true that we keep on losing against physical teams, happened with Wolves, Crystal Palace, Watford and probably today.

Remind me the last time a team went up bullying teams everyweek without playing well.

Doesn't happen.

It is worrying though. Same with Leeds, we knew what Millwall would be like yet we couldn't think of anything to counter them. All they did was play their standard game and completely dominated us. We could play 10 hours of football and never score a goal.

When we control games, and Drinkwater and King play well - we usually win

When Drinkwater and King struggle against the more physical sides in the division - we usually lose

It's not hard to notice this unless your a thick t**t.

Stoke???

The trouble is we are not a good enough footballing side to avoid this, we are not swansea, and even norwich played better football than us but had physical strikers e.g. holt.

At this level no matter how much good football you play you still need someone to get on the end of a cross in a box, which we do not have.

Actually wouldn't mind Pearson getting the boot, we just lose consistently against the same teams. Yet we have a decent squad, i think with a decent manager we could still get promoted.

Listen to the commentary, it's blatently obvious what's happened. The midfield have been outbattled, we've resorted to going long and the strikers can win nothing against Millwall's two big CBs.
