Looks smashing. Would love to get away but my passport is out of date and cannot afford to renew it at the moment. Maybe I'll be able to save a little later on in the year and go with Saga.

My mother in law had a lovley time in st.lucia on a saga holiday. Then send a taxi to pick you up and drop you off this end. All in the price. Old woman.

Yes I know my mum and step dad had some good times with them. But They were happy to go along with the itinary that was set out. Watch the entertainment in the hotel and go bed early. I am getting on but still like to do my own thing. I migaine a busload of dear old ladies with walking sticks and men with bowell problems. They went full board with drinks included and were happy.

I don't want anybody to feel sorry for me. Not been away abroad for a few years. First it was work then no work. I also got fed up with the hassle at airports. If you are on your own it is difficult to leave your luggage before checking in because security might blow it up. It was better by coach as it stayed on board but they take longer. I will do something though within the next few years. Still places I have not been.

have you been to Turkey?

Have a look at Hisarano

All the places along the 'Turquoise Coast' that I've been to are lovely. I wasn't too keen on the Mediterranean Coast as there are too many anti-social Russians.

Might go to Turkey again this year or maybe somewhere different. Dunno yet.

I have stopped here twice

Its fantastic, food is spot on.Weather is hot, best go towards the middle of september if you dont like it roasting, although it will be still mid 30's

Food around the surrounding area in the restaurants and bars are all top notch, they even have a fair ground

People who havent been to the right place in Turkey, dont know what they are missing imo

The green forest is in Hisaranou, a dolmus bus ride away from this in ole deniz

I had Turkey in mind already and wasn't sure whereabouts was decent, but that looks stunning. What's the nightlife like?

I want to go somewhere where the beaches are white and the sea is properly blue like that, purely because I've never seen it in person

Turkey isn't even that expensive either is it?

Nipped travel agents earlier on the back of this talk. Came home armed with loads brochures. Turkey isn't expensive at all compared with spain, portugal etc.

Really like the look of it and weather would be ideal at the time of year we are looking at.

Just not sure my youngest will cope with the 4hr flight and 2hr transfer. Maybe in a few years. No doubt by then the prices will have rocketed.

Off to Andorra first week in March for some Snowboarding with mates. Can't wait to get out and try some new tricks on the parks out there

Think I might do the same. I just wish it was easier to convince friends into it all.

Marmaris has got decent nightlife in Turkey.

Went to Marmaris last year. I had a look down Bar Street but it's not my thing. Walking around the bars and restaurants around the marina at night is lovely. You don't need to want a skinfull and to pull to enjoy Marmaris.

We find Teletext Holidays or Broadway Travel are good value for Turkey. A few years ago we booked with Jewel in the Crown Travel who only do holidays to Turkey and India. These were good value to but they only seem to do bed and breakfast in Turkey.

Last year we went to the Club Viva which is an AI on the outskirts of Marmaris. It is very quiet but a five minute walk brings you to some local bars and restaurants. If you want to go to the centre of Marmaris there were buses outside which cost about £1 and ran every 5-10 minutes.

This was perfect for us.

By the way, on the first morning of your Turkish holiday, make sure you go to a Hammam to get a thorough wash and rub-down from a hairy Turkish bloke.

It's more fun than it sounds!

Marmaris has got decent nightlife in Turkey.

I've been to Marmaris a good few times over the years. Bar street is quite expensive, although if you are planning on going june/july/beginning of august then the clubs will be rammed and the atmosphere is good. The clubs are big there, open-air. The bars down by the beach are cheaper and still get really busy.

Not been for 2 years though tbf. It may be a little too commercial/britishised (if thats even a word!) for some people. Depends what you're looking for though.

Guaranteed hot hot weather and guaranteed to pull as well. Although i will add that a fair few birds do go there for the turkish schlong!!!

You trying to tug at our heartstrings?

Ask MattP, he seems to have plenty of cash sloshing around.

Used to have, not anymore. I'll be on the $10 minimum Blackjack tables next time I'm in the states.

Am going on honeymoon at the start of October but don't know where yet. We don't want anything too energetic - just a nice, relaxing (beach?) holiday somewhere.

Any ideas?

Is Altinkum the turquoise coast? Been there twice and the beaches are good along the local coastline. Some nice smaller ones just up a bit from the main beach. The sea is nice and flat and clear. It slopes out very gradually and has no seaweed for a good way out so you can look out for those spiky urchin things when you step.

Alot of the beaches in Turkey and the Greek Islands are good quality. Some are pebbles but when I've been I just pick a sandy area out of the brochure. Turkey's always been good value I thought, although not been for about 10 years so not sure of the prices nowadays.

That Olu Deniz looks bostin', have always wanted to go there.

Cape Verde looks fantastic, might book there this year

Highly recommended. If you do go try and visit a few of the islands instead of just going all inclusive on Sal. Santo Antao in particular is insane. I've been to a fair few places but that had the most stunning landscape I've ever seen. Unreal.

We went to Fogo, Sao Vicente, Santiago and Santo Antao. Let me know if you want any further info. Quite off the beaten track still so go while it stays that way.
