Would be sad to lose him with out giving him a real chance first.. I've nothing against him but don't see what Fergie sees in him. Either way we're at the stage in the season where we can't afford to give chances out. We need to stick with the best strikers we have providong they're fit

iamafox Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 Should we lose Konchesky due to injury or suspension (not tempting fate), are we entitled to recall Schlupp back?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 I'll go with Fergie's view personally!!!! Obviously
cc_star Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Agree. What is Ferguson seeing that Pearson is not. He must have potential or else MUFC wouldn´t bother...... Nothing. Pearson has played him & whilst he could be good he currently isn't at the level we need & we have Wood, Nugent, Kane & others ahead of him, if he was here he should be loaned out as we're not in a position to bring someone through. He seemed to go on trial at the same time Keane's loan was extended until the end of the season, so it could have been an off the record agreement to be part of the deal so why not, he gets experience, we get the quality CB we need to partner Morgan. PS. I'd play Schlupp every week at LB so I'm not writing him off, but there's nothing in it for us in this promotion chasing season to have Schlupp here as a forward.
21st Century Fox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I assume this has already been posted and it doesn't really say anything new but... Schlupp and away! Manchester United want Leicester striker Jeffrey Schlupp Manchester United are giving Ghanaian striker Jeffrey Schlupp the chance to make a dream move from Leicester City.Schlupp made a surprise appearance for Sir Alex Ferguson’s reserves and the powerful young forward could be offered a deal at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has made a handful of appearances for the Foxes and was also loaned to Brentford, but he has done enough on trial with United to earn his shock call-up. Schlupp would cost United a fee and Foxes chief Nigel Pearson is happy for him to spend his time with the Premier League leaders ahead of a potential move. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-transfer-news-ghanaian-1732737

Manchester United want Leicester striker Jeffrey Schlupp http://www.mirror.co...hanaian-1732737 Wow, the Mirror are quite late to the party aren't they? When I saw the headline I assumed there was progress, but it seems to just saying he could move because he's on trial? We've known that for weeks. Also, I quite resent Leicester being referred to as 'obscurity'. There's more than one league in this country!
5waller5 Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 You do know he's only playing in their development team and not their first team? You do know how good their "development" squad is??
5waller5 Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I'd love to benchmark how good they are .... actually see a competitive match between a premier league top dev squad like man utd against us. I would think they'd win, but in a close game.

I would think they'd win, but in a close game. Having watched a good chunk of it I don't think they'd beat a Lg1 side & who knows maybe not a Lg2 side who have their shit together, it was pretty poor stuff and Liverpool aside from Shelvey quite frankly were abysmal. Look how good Lingard was for us - about that level seemed to be the general quality of MU U21s, rather than the level Keane is at, with Liverpool (although not helped by a red card) below that.
Babylon Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 You do know how good their "development" squad is?? The point being he's not getting a "chance" there compared to here. But if Schlupp is starting up front, then I'd suggest not particularly good in the striking department. As for beating a top end championship team... hmmm.
Eddie Big Balls Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 All United's strikers at the reserves/u18s level are either injured or on loan at the moment so I guess it's not a big surprise that Schlupp is filling in there during games. Before he played we had been playing wingers and midfielders up front - even Powell has had a game or 2 there recently.
indierich06 Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 You do know how good their "development" squad is?? Yeah, half of them are playing for us now. Just like any academy, half of the prospects end up at lower division clubs while a couple make the grade at their club.
Happy Fox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 If Schlupp does go to Manchester United on a permanent deal can we expect to see some of their prospects here in return i.e Nick Powell, Larnell Cole on loan?
Corky Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 You do know how good their "development" squad is?? Yes, we've got most of them.
Alexikokopops Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Football League expert David Bevan, aka Fez, tells us all we need to know about Schlupp!
jamesmilner Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 schlupp being at man utd might have something to do with the eppp that leicester are going through at the minute dont you think ? hes not on trial , lcfc and him have never ever mentioned the word trial . there are a few things going onat the club that are making the guessing game get even more clouded . hes just not on trial .

21st Century Fox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Elite Player Performance Plan. I'd be interested to know how this has effected Schlupp's move.
