Aus Fox Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 Be interesting to see the average points for 3rd place as we only need 1 point more then they get, looking at this however 13 wins from 18 should see us in the Premier League.

I was just about to tell you to post this on here. As I said in my text to you, those totals are extrememly high with the exception of stoke. 13 more wins from 18 games is a MASSIVE ask Be interesting to see the average points for 3rd place as we only need 1 point more then they get, looking at this however 13 wins from 18 should see us in the Premier League. StanSP Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 36 more points from 18 games to get to average. 12 wins out of 18. 11 wins, 3 draws 10 wins, 6 draws. 9 wins, 9 draws Our next 12 games: Wolves (H) Peterborough (A) Cardiff (A) Blackburn (H) Charlton (H) Blackpool (A) Ipswich (A) Leeds (H) Sheff Weds (H) Derby (A) Millwall (H) Barnsley (A) What do people think will be most realistic out of those next 12 matches? Note: I do know it's going quite far in to the season. I personally just like taking it 1 game at a time cos that's what the next focus should be on. We shouldn't get 2 carried away. It's only January and a lot of stuff can change between now and end of the month let alone up until Easter!

LukeyZade Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 this year theres so many teams who have been 1st and 2nd, cardiff have come good and starting to run away a little, i cant see anyone anyone else taking 2nd to win 12 0f 18 you say? big ask, so far only cardiff acheived that 1st half of season?. if we do win that many and stil dont come 2nd then well what can i say
whoareyaaa Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 I think we would need around 79-81 to gain 2nd spot, its a tighter league this year as there is no two teams running away with it, so I think less points will be needed.
steveherbe Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 Prior to reading this topic I had a quick add-up of the points I think we could reasonably expect. Allowing for the odd 'blip', I made it 31 more, giving us a total of 81 - which sadly may not be enough. Then again, I'm a miserable git!!

Happy Fox Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 Has goal difference made a significant difference between 2nd and 3rd? if it does we are in a good position just need to keep on hammering the crap teams at home i.e Wolves.

Haydos Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 The league is much tighter this year, if things continue how they are I wouldn't be surprised if it only took 80 points to finish 2nd.
deanolegend1989 Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 7 out the last 10 seasons 82 points would be above 2nd(81 would be good enough with out goal difference). Its a tight league this year so I can see it carrying on in that mould. IMO between 80-84 is the range. If we get 84 points or more I think we'll do it. Down to 80 would give us a fair chance. 18 games and we could only need to win 9 in my opinion. This would make 77 and as long as we get 4 or 5 draws with that it would be enough. 10 wins would almost certainly get us up.

ealingfox Posted 20 January 2013 Share Posted 20 January 2013 Btw that's our next 12 games not 10. I reckon: Wolves (H) - W Peterborough (A) - W Cardiff (A) - L Blackburn (H) - W Charlton (H) - W Blackpool (A) - D Ipswich (A) - L Leeds (H) - D Sheff Weds (H) - W Derby (A) - W Millwall (H) - W Barnsley (A) - W 76 points with 6 games left would be an incredibly healthy position so maybe thats a bit optimistic...
