AlphaMaleFox Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 The pie thing was crap as well, as I got there (luckily I live 5 min walk away), but after kickoff - so tried to get my pie+pint at half time, and they said it was only for pre-match. Like I'd had any chance of getting that! http://www.lcfc.com/...-fl-284170.aspx *Pie/pint only issued on production of voucher provided when purchasing your match ticket. One pie/pint per voucher, must be redeemed before kick-off. Pint may be substituted for soft drink, tea or coffee. All products subject to availability.
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 You are not going to get anything so deal with it. Actually we do, we get a free ticket to another game to take someone else for free. One thing as well, the snow was probably heavier yesterday than on Friday night, yet Welford Road seemed full yesterday, we only had just over 8,000 they probably had about 22,000 on a day which the snow was heavier and worse. You're comparing a day in which people had the whole day to get there, a day no schools closed early, a day people weren't at work as a comparison. Nice one Sherlock. People may say they had work etc...but if you had a brain you would of gone straight from work You do realise not everyone goes to work with their tickets or dressed for sitting outside in freezing conditions don't you? I mean christ, if you knew the traffic would be worse than it has been in the last 25 years of going down you should have let everyone know on here so we could all go prepared!!!! or I seen quite a few people left there work early on Friday because of the weather, so in my opinion if you were in that category time wasn't a serious problem. I left at 3pm, something many people didn't have the luxury of, and I still only got home at 7pm. It's almost like you didn't even think this through very well.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 So what if people decided to stay at home, what the hell has it got to do with you? They paid their money and can do as they wish, who the hell do you think you are to say someone is a c*** because they would rather not go out on a night like that, or in fact any week when people decide not to go, as they do. If you are "embarrassed" by it you need to get a grip on reality. You are no doubt one of those people that abuses others for leaving a few minutes early, because you're a "loyal supporter" and they aren't for leaving a minute before the whistle. Your bio says it all "Seventeen years old, college student." When you have a real life outside of football, see how much of a great supporter you are then. To be fair, "c*nt" isn't the word I'd have used so I apologise for exaggerating my opinion in my previous post. But I would like to state my annoyance again with the attendance on Friday night. It isn't hard to walk half an hour in the snow to a football match which some people chose not to do. This is the group I'm focusing on and although they aren't many I'm still not happy with them shirking an extremely easy task because they didn't fancy the cold. I have a lot of pride in my club and that pride took a hit when I saw the disappointing numbers that turned up - A club of our stature shouldn't be getting that kind of attendance. I did enjoy your omission of the words "priority one season ticket holder" when referring to my bio - A rather important feature I feel. And by the way, I'm going to keep my ST next year even though I'm going to university in another city so I think I'm quite entitled to question the attitudes of others.

"Welford Road seemed full yesterday, we only had just over 8,000 they probably had about 22,000 on a day which the snow was heavier and worse" The roads weren't gridlocked yesterday. "but if you had a brain you would of gone straight from work" If you had a brain you wouldn't write "would of". And again, a moot point, the city was gridlocked, if you went straight from work at 5:30 you still wouldn't have made it. "or I seen quite a few people left there work early on Friday" what if you can't leave early? As far as I know most jobs you don't get to chose your hours.
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Why are people obsessed with pies and pints? You were getting them for ****ing free. Gratis. Nada. Nothing. How ****ing dare the club deny you your chance to eat for free! They weren't free, you paid £20 for them and a football match.
danny. Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 http://www.lcfc.com/...-fl-284170.aspx Yup, as per the T&C that is the case. As Babylon and others have been saying, given the extreme circumstances, it wouldn't have been unreasonable to bend the rules would it?
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 I did enjoy your omission of the words "priority one season ticket holder" when referring to my bio - A rather important feature I feel Why is that important, does it make you a better fan because you don't have as much in your life as others like jobs, wives, children, mortgages? I too used to go to every away game at your age, I just pray I wasn't so stuck up about it though.
fleckneymike Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 They weren't free, you paid £20 for them and a football match. Well if it takes a ****ing pie to get folks off their arse and to the game no wonder a bit of snow put some of the chubby ****ers off.
Kitchandro Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 There are some... 12,000? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: K What are you quoting me for? I wasn't going regardless of the weather or if it was on TV, numbnuts
Bellend Sebastian Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 This is all very confusing. I fell on my arse near the Bingo, and now I don't know who to start legal proceedings against
kingfox Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 what if you can't leave early? As far as I know most jobs you don't get to chose your hours. Like I said I seen that some people were allowed to leave work early, as they were closing earlier because of the weather. About 15,000 people don't all work out in the county, or in other cities, I bet some season ticket holders don't even work or have jobs in town or around this area in good enough distance to attend Friday's game. So if you had a brain, you could of easily gone straight from work if you finished around 5.00pm and worked in the city.

The CITY was gridlocked, if you left at 5pm from the city you would not have made it to the KP time - even if you went straight there from work.

Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Well if it takes a ****ing pie to get folks off their arse and to the game no wonder a bit of snow put some of the chubby ****ers off. Why do you think the club did the offer? Because it gets more people in, it's marketing. Similarly saying "ever so sorry you couldn't make it, next time you pop down the ground to watch a game bring the unused ticket with you and you can have your free beer and a pint". Perhaps because I'm in that industry I can see what a clanger they are making PR.

I too used to go to every away game at your age, I just pray I wasn't so stuck up about it though. I notice he missed the 'Priority One season ticket holder - because mummy and daddy buy me the tickets and travel' Brainless idiots like him that age, with the sickening attitude of how his pride in the club is hurt because we got under 10k for a league match make me want to weep. Best to ignore the 'i'm better than you all because I attend all the games' as the points he's raised thus far clearly show his opinion means less than an apology from Lance Armstrong.

I too used to go to every away game at your age, I just pray I wasn't so stuck up about it though. I appreciate that others aren't able to go to as many as I am and I am grateful that my current circumstances allow my to attend virtually every game. None the less I have no doubt in my mind that I am a more committed supporter than most even though I don't have to deal with as much as some do. It is my belief that if you are a fan of your team then you should own a ST provided that you live in the area and can afford to do so - This also involves going to all home games if possible - Not everyone stuck to those small requirements on Friday and while it is there choice it doesn't stop me from feeling somewhat annoyed.
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 At least 8500 people did. None of them were kids in college or retired folk, or out of work, or had the day off, or work a few minutes away then.

I'm working full-time, have wive, two children, no mortage (but pay a rent) - still I managed to be at the stadium . Be mature. You lost. Deal with it.
fleckneymike Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 None of them were kids in college or retired folk, or out of work, or had the day off, or work a few minutes away then. I've no ****ing idea who they were. The only thing I can say is that some of them, somehow managed to navigate their way to the ground in what, if this board is to believed, were some of the most treacherous conditions known to man.

The CITY was gridlocked, if you left at 5pm from the city you would not have made it to the KP time - even if you went straight there from work. You have two feet flaming walk. Wouldn't of took you two-three hours to walk from town, Waghorn walked from Fosse Park that's further than town he got to the stadium in time. All people are different, some people work further away than others, some people work in other cities, some people would of left work early because of the weather, and some people probably don't work at all. 15,000 people surely couldn't of all had difficulties and couldn't get to the stadium, some people obviously didn't make an effort, purely because it was on Sky.

Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 1.Where does it say that, how did you find out? People have contacted the club 2.The weather was worse, traffic difficulties were probably worse, travelling would be just as difficult than on Friday night, Schools finish at 3.00pm not 6.00pm, like I said some people were allowed to leave work early on Friday, some people probably don't work, some people probably work in the City so I would say getting to the match wouldn't be a problem if those three things apply to you. It was the amount of traffic on the roads and twats blocking junctions, not the actual snow on the road that gridlocked the city. Schools finish at 3pm, so did many other companies including mine... and I was sat on a bus for FOUR HOURS getting from Syston to Wigston. It was already gridlocked before every other company closed at 5/5.30pm... that just compounded the problem. 3.It's common sense use your brain, it was snowing in the morning, look at the weather forecast for christ sake, people would wrap up warm to go to work, and if you had a brain, you could of easily took your season ticket to work, you don't have to carry a massive box around with you, a little card you can easily slip in your wallet. I bet people who went to work, have there bank cards on them, so you could of easily had your season ticket on you if you had a brain. I used my brain, I asked to leave work early. I have done this journey for 15 sodding years, in snow bloody worse than this and there has never been a problem. I'll pack a frigging lift raft next time rain is predicted, just in case there is biblical flooding and i can float to the bloody ground. 4.You left at 3pm, you were not the only one Babylon, some people in the Mercury today said they had to travel quite far, abandoned cars etc... and got their in time, some people on this form lived out in the county, and have said they were able to get there in good enough time. Not everyone does the same bloody journey, uses the same transport, lives in the same places ffs.
