Rory sure loves to mess with your heart doesn’t he.

Amen Corner was the turning point, played that stretch to perfection.

Would love a Tommy, Fitz or Rose win but Rory again to tie Faldo, Mickelson and Trevino on 6 majors would be the dream

We are witnessing history.

One more major for Rory to join the greats of the game like Vardon, Snead, Sarazon, Palmer and Jones.

Two more to join Tom Watson and three more to equal Player and Hogan.

I think he's got four more in him to reach double figures.

A generational talent and icon of the game.

Jack Nicklaus

Tiger Woods

Rory McIlroy

Only players ever to get back to back green jackets. What a club that is,

You can bet your ass he'll be working his nuts off to be the first ever to do the three-peat

Incredible resilience. Crazy when you think he plays with way more pressure and expectation that any other player, has had to carry the PGA tour on his back over the LIV stuff and the monkey around his neck for going so long without winning a major. He's fully cemented himself in that next tier of player just behind Woods and Nicklaus. Given the above, Scheffler would have to get 9/10 to compare

Enjoy. I went to Birkdale in '91 when Ian Baker Finch won. Great Open venue.

P.S. Would really love Tommy to win this on his doorstep

I love Butch but whenever they ask for his opinion in the studio, he always goes off on a massive monologue lol

I love him too but he's nearly 83 years old and should be long retired really. He's like the Murray Walker of golf.

Just woke up

Gutted for Rose but very happy for McIlroy again

Ditto.

Shame to see another opportunity go begging for Rose, but Rory showed the class when it mattered and glad he's done back to back.

Brilliant nice one Rory, watched the last few holes in bed and fell asleep, woke up and he was wearing the Green Jacket!

It also weirds me out how he turns and stares down the camera!

Such a strange career for Rory. Four majors from 2011 to 2014 and then none until these back to back Masters wins.

So is Rory a better golfer now in 2026 than he was during those earlier years in his 20's?

He gets asked this a lot and his answer is always that he thinks he's a much more complete player now than he was 15 years ago. He's much more adaptable to different courses and conditions now and has a chance pretty much everywhere he tees it up.

Since 2014 he's had 22 top 10's in majors and been runner up 4 times. He really should have won the Masters in '14, The Open in '22 and the US Open in '24 so could easily be sat on 9 majors right now.

It is strange how there is such a gap between his 4th and 5th major but during that time he's won multiple big tournaments, Fed Ex cups, and Race to Dubai's, and he's consistantly been in the worlds top 5. It's just the majors that have eluded him.

He's still hitting it further than most, his wedge game has massivley improved, and his putting is much more reliable these days.

He's probably got 40 more attempts at majors if he stays fit I can see him winning maybe 10% of those and ending up on 10 majors which would put him behind only Jack and Tiger as the GOAT.

He can win with his B game just like Scottie nowadays. His previous wins he had to be on top form to compete.

He's a much better all round player and his long game means he has plenty of years left in him.

I can see Rory going on and absolutely dominate the majors now. Looking forward to the new Full Swing season coming out later this week.

Dissapointing that Season 4 of Full Swing will only be 4 episodes compared to 7/8 episodes for Seasons 1-3. Especially with it being a Ryder Cup year.

Used to work in a call centre for a bank, Rory's dad was a regular caller and was incredibly rude to any of us at the call centre, loved giving it the big I am when Rory was a known future star.

By all accounts Rory is the opposite which is a relief

Didn't realise that, that's disappointing! Really looking forward to this one for obvious reasons!
