TheStig Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Kasper has at last and deservedly been picked for the Danish national side. Must be doing something right at City! Much better than "mouthy" Lindegaard at MUFC !! Seems that he is not only in the 16 picked for the match against Macedonia but set to get his debut. Congrats!
jonthefox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Well done Kasper. I hope this doesn't put him in the transfer spectrum in the summer.
coolhandfox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Can only be a good thing, playing at a higher level makes you a better player.
dbt_lcfc Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Im sure I read somewhere he will start not just be part of the squad
shen Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Im sure I read somewhere he will start not just be part of the squad Yup. Morten Olsen has confirmed that he will start against Macedonia With Sørensen retiring from the national team, Andersen not playing much at Evian and Lindegaard being a crock, Kasper now has a great opportunity to show he should be at least second choice. It looks like it will be behind a full strength defense too.
The Blur Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Chuffed for him- reckon if we get promoted, he will be with us for at least one more year. There is no World Cup/Euros this summer for him to impress in.
L1wood Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Excellent news for Kasper. He has been nothing short of superb for us this season now it's time to see if he can take the next step in his career at international level.
Corky Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Always good for our players to receive international recognition. Well played Kasper.
Fox92 Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Just hope he doesn't have to take their goal kicks.
shen Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Just hope he doesn't have to take their goal kicks. I usually find his distribution to be quite smart
tcrofts Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 He has just tweeted this Kasper schmeichel (@kschmeichel1) 30/01/2013 18:11 Just been told the good news that i will be making my international debut next wednesday. Feel very honoured and cannot wait! Well deserved Kasper
dmayne7 Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 I usually find his distribution to be quite smart It has gone off the boil a bit this year but people talk such garbage about it. He can kick it a long way and his throw is pretty accurate. When its on form, its a pretty good weapon to have on the conuter and defensively buys us time.
Guest shearfox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Certainly deserves it and it shows Kasper that he can still get in the national team while at Leicester. If we get into the PL and he continues his great form it won't be long until he is their number one.

His kicking frustrates me, that's my opinion. He hardly gives the ball to the full backs when they come short, in stead launching it stupidly too high and/or long and the ball comes back if we don't hold it. Also, on Saturday for example, he kicked the ball to Nugent a few times when Wood was playing.

Fox92 Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Yeah, what a dumbass, kicking it long to Knockaert....oh wait! Wow, once in how many times? He generally kicks it out of play most times, and that's my opinion... Gallagher scores a good goal every 15 games, doesn't make him the best player at the club.
shen Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Olsen has said that the first goalkeeper spot is wide open, and if Kasper manages to impress, there's no reason that he won't start in the next qualifier. Lindegaard and Andersen are still ahead in the pecking order, provided they play, which looks unlikely in both cases. I'd still expect Andersen to retain his spot, because he's always been dependable whenever he's played, but this is the biggest indication yet that Olsen is looking at a long-term alternative.
cuddly ken Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Great news for Kasper, good luck to him. I will be sending him a free pre match cuddle to help him relax.
Aus Fox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Nightmare start for Kasper 3 down in opening half an hour
dogadug Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Playing now, and they're losing 3-0 to Macedonia Letting in 3 goals against Macedonia might put other teams off from him
