Carl the Llama Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Anyone else feeling like Forest keep copying us lately?
RedHux Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Anyone else feeling like Forest keep copying us lately? You make a good point...although we got through more managers before going back.
Guest ttfn Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Great appointment for Forest. Ironically, given that instant promotion was the reason that O'Driscoll was given the boot, I think it will be too late to get them into the play-offs, but I can see them challenging next season. Davies is a proper twat but you can't argue with the way he got that Forest side performing in his previous spell in charge.
pSinatra Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 You make a good point...although we got through more managers before going back. but we went back to someone decent
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Good football manager, shit person. Concerned only with brand Billy and sadly a lot of Forest fans are buying into it. Oh well, here we go again. Isn't that all that matters? I'll love any manager who brings my club success. I get the feeling that QPR fans generally hated Warnock, but then he won them the league, I imagine they changed their minds a bit after that.
pSinatra Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Also true I'm interested to know what you mean by 'Brand Billy'? I'm guessing that you mean that he's more interested in himself than the club, the fans & the players.......but I've never really got that impression from him. My Forest supporting mate has been campaigning for his return for a long time, as have a lot of other people. I don't think he's the best out there, but he is probably the best you could get at the moment. Do you see a better alternative than Davies right now?
RedHux Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Billy Davies was always all about Billy Davies. He even talks in the third person. He has no interest in the club as an entity. He dismantled the reserves and shut down the development squad (thankfully he can't do that now). At one point during his last 'reign' rumours of Celtic sniffing around were all over the place and despite him being, quite obviously a Sevco man he says stuff about 'not ruling out going to Celtic'....whilst he's employed at Forest. Why do you suppose that a manager with his, on paper fairly impressive record, struggles to find work? His brand of short termism makes me sad.
pSinatra Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Thanks I can't deny that a little part of me is finding the whole situation quite amusing.......but anyone on here would not want to see Leicester in Forest's situation & it's clear how easily that can happen. I don't know much about the reserves, Celtic rumours & alike......but he is not a likeable person from the little I do know. Forest can only be described as a poisoned chalice at the moment & I don't see many other options available. I think the Thais learnt a few valuable lessons thanks to Sven & hopefully your owners can do the same.
bluesbrothers Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 Well, this keeps getting funnier. I drew parallels in the last thread between us 2 years ago and Forest now, and labelled them hypocrites for, amongst other things, telling us to never go back when we re-employed Pearson. It's just another example of this saga exposing the hypocricy of Forest fans. Just for the record, I'll list againwhat they've said about us in the past few years. You used to be English, you're not any more. Since the Thai's took over, the nobs used it as a safeguard against their racist slander. Since then, they've been bought by sheikhs and promptly not mentioned it since. You're trying to buy the league and it's failed. Yet they had no problem with their new owners doing the same thing, with the same mediocre results. Forest has stability, unlike the Leicester merry-go-round. Cue forest getting through 4 managers in 2 years and ending up back at square one. You shouldn't have rehired Pearson. Never go back. A year later, they go crawling back to Billy Davies. Seriously, every day I find a new reason to hate these morons. Then I remind myself they gave us Wes Morgan, and all is well.
RedHux Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 I concur with all of your points except the buying the league bit. We haven't spent nearly as much as we did when Billy Davies first arrived a few years a go and at the start of this season, we could barely field 11 senior players. Can't say as I blame anyone on here finding the current debacle amusing. I probably would too if it wasn't my favourite toy that the big boys are stomping on.
Libertine Dream Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 I personally believe that with the squad that Forest had, Davies should have got them up either season, add that to the Billy politics and I don't think its as good an appointment as Forest fans believe. I can't see him pandering to the Kuwaitis, its a recipe for disaster.
RedHux Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 His second leg play off team selection was nothing short of suspicious. Playing people he very very rarely played, dropping his signings who were in top form at the time. Most odd. Unfortunately our standards are so low these days just making the play offs is seen by many Forest fans as success.
Benji Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Press conference on Monday - plenty of time for an eye test.
Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 I find Billy Davies weirdly charismatic. It's probably just his accent though. Is it even weirder that I find Scottish accents charismatic?
Vacamion Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 West of Scotland accents are charismatic. Most of the vast number of managers who go down to England from sweatysock-land are from Glasgow and the West. The Eastern and Northern accents in Scotland carry little authority, sound a bit sing song and make me laugh. Anyway, not glad that Billy Davies is back. It just brings back to mind the widely reported story about him and Tommy Sheridan being balls deep in either end of tubby gobshite Scots journalist Anver Khan at that swingers club. I wonder if they did a high five? [shudders]

Finnegan Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 She said she had become "mates" with Mr Sheridan and asked him for advice on campaigning, as well as looking to him for stories for the newspapers she worked for.She said there was initially "a very flirtatious atmosphere" between the two and they "had a snog" before making "a date for sex" at his home in the Pollok area of Glasgow in 1992. She told how she had sex with Mr Sheridan beneath a picture of Communist revolutionary Che Guevara. She said: "What struck me was pictures of left-wing intellectuals on the walls. We went into his bedroom, there was a large picture of Che Guevara above the bed, and we had a shag." lol lol
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 FOOTBALL gaffer Billy Davies has been accused of being so close to old pal Tommy Sheridan they took part in sleazy three-in-a-bed romps together - according to claims by two different women. The married Nottingham Forest boss, a former Rangers star, was named in separate police statements by journalist Anvar Khan and single mum Laura Smith. According to their signed statements, given to cops investigating Sheridan's perjury, the women were both originally sexual partners of Sheridan before he suggested bringing in Davies to spice up the action. lol lol Gfwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa!!! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/nottingham-forest-boss-billy-davies-1079066
Guest Bilo Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Just brought up my cornflakes. Thanks Finners.
The Doctor Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 lol What the ****? This forest saga is just getting funnier and funnier every day.
Mark_w Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 His second leg play off team selection was nothing short of suspicious. Unfortunately our standards are so low these days just making the play offs is seen by many Forest fans as success. You've always come across as being quite a sensible intelligent poster to me, but if you substitute the word 'Forest' with 'Leicester' and 'second' with 'first', then that looks exactly like countless Seenitalll and Dangerous Tiger posts in the 'Pearson's back' and 'Pearson Out' threads.
pSinatra Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 I never actually gave Davies much thought - that he seemed to do a reasonable job at the many clubs he's been at. Nothing special, pretty steady, a bit too Scottish, but you could do worse. The bloke's a cvnt
Tinman Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Billy and his good friend Fawaz greet the latest Kuwaiti loan signing to Fantasy Island (otherwise known as NFFC)
Corky Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 I'm sure Hux posted a photoshop of the incident Finners refers to around the time it broke. Do you still have it, Hux?
