Bayfox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Pontus played. When he was fit. Theo would be one. When you look at him helping win a euros. But then he was trying to dislodge muzzy, lennon, savage and parker. If i remember correctly. Although given plenty of chances. Hume, cresswell and scowcroft. All spent to much time filling in and not up front. But one for me would be jon ashton. Looked ok in those games towards the back end of our relegation season a bit like piper. Yet made a scapegoat for the 6 we conceded at ipswich.
Soar Fox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Jamie Vardy Sssshhhhhh We don't want Babylon starting with his boring stats comparing him and Beckford
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Sssshhhhhh We don't want Babylon starting with his boring stats comparing him and Beckford I really do want people to give the lad a decent amount of time to adapt though!
Dan Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 He had a chance didn't he? and was very good! Benfica wanted to keep him I thought I thought he started quite a lot of games during his loan spell when he wasn't injured. Criminally under-used. We had the future Benfica captain for a year but went with Bamba & Bruma
Bayfox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Criminally under-used. We had the future Benfica captain for a year but went with Bamba & Bruma This. But turns out bruma was immense in midfield.
whitwickfox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Good call glc creswell was one that got away
Lambert09 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 I wish Sven had given Hobbs a chance. It's kind of the same thing. We should never have let him go!!!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 I wish Sven had given Hobbs a chance. It's kind of the same thing. We should never have let him go!!!! Couldn't agree more.. Said it at the time too
LCFC FOX Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Is Vitor a first team regular at Benfica now then? They said they wanted 15million at the time I remember, Not even Sven did that.
dmayne7 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Gradel Porter Schlupp Kaebi Chambers Kee Odhiambo Tommy Wright Basically 100's of youth team players
dmayne7 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 I wish Sven had given Hobbs a chance. It's kind of the same thing. We should never have let him go!!!! Fryatt as well
Foxhateram Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Fryatt and David Connoly. Both played well for us but ended up being shipped out unfairly really. Connoly due to money issues at the time and Fryatt because his name wasn't big enough. Both went on to score 15+ the seasons after leaving Fryatt to hull and Connolly for Sunderland who I think went back up that year.
Bettsj2 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Zagorakis is definitely the one. Such a shame he left when he did as Lennon left not long after and he'd have been the ideal replacement. More ideal than Matt Jones anyway.
shiv Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Gradel Porter Schlupp Kaebi Chambers Kee Odhiambo Tommy Wright Basically 100's of youth team players Remember seeing Odhiambo come on the cup against Villa. It was a very brief appearance but he basically completely outmuscled Olof Mellberg
shiv Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Gabor Bori That Zsolt Lackzo or whatever his name was in the squad for Hungary when they last played against England... They looked good for one game haha
Father Ted Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 We had three quality defenders under Sven (Hobbs, Vitor and Mee) yet none were regular starters, it really does baffle me still.
Munshi Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 We had three quality defenders under Sven (Hobbs, Vitor and Mee) yet none were regular starters, it really does baffle me still. According to some on here after the pompey 6-1 loss , vitor should never play for us again
scottthefox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 With Futacs finally playing two (I think) full games for City now, and not having the best of games the other night, it got me thinking... Which past players would you say weren't really given a chance at City; then we came to regret it somewhat as they turned out good etc. I always remember Pleat buying Jimmy Quinn - who had been the Second Division's top scorer in 1987/88. He quickly got shot of him in a swap to Bradford for Mick Kennedy- woohoo !! Quinn was always a class act. Who else has there been?? Oh and Ashley Ward should have had more of a chance too. Thank god Jimmy Quinn developed in to a class jockey.....
