Simmo86 Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 Wycombe FA Cup Forest 5-1 Pompey 6-1 Wycombe being the worst
Jimbo Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 I'd like to see sone1 who's got a worse away record than me: 1 win in 17 city away games! Not an away record but a friend of mine went all season without seeing us win at home. And to put some perspective on it it was during our promotion season in league 1! He had to give up his season ticket for work reasons that season and only managed a handful of games. They included losing to Milwall and draws against Brighton, Oldham and Scunthorpe.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 This really was horrible - the start of the realisation that the dream was over. There were some really terrible games in the season we went down to League 1 - I remember us losing at home to Colchester, was easily one of the worst performances I've seen by any team anywhere. We've never lost to Colchester.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 I had a surreal dream last night where we were playing the United Arab Emirates on telly, whose team was inexplicably composed of 11 clones of Mo Farah. I switched the TV off when we went 2-0 down after 20 minutes, knowing that we usually score when I have my back turned. I switched back an hour later and we were 7-1 down, just before Mo Farah #6 scored the eighth goal. It was a terrible, terrible dream. Mo's coy grin plastered 11 times onto the field will follow me everywhere today. No more blue cheese for supper then
RonnieTodger Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 Losing 1-0 at home to Rotherham on Boxing Day in 04/05 season. It was a really big crowd to watch the most boring game of all time.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 I think you're struggling to get a worst performance than Portsmouth away under Sousa or Millwall at home under Svennis Worst I can think of in recent times anyway.
Fox92 Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 Remember being gutted after the 4-3 defeat at Wolves. I haven't been to Molinuex since, it still haunts me that game.
iamafox Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 When we lost away to Sheffield United 4-1 on the opening day of the 05/06 season. We conceded 2 penalties that day, and both were scored.

deanolegend1989 Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 1-0 At home to Rotherham is a great shout. Massive crowd(over 30k?), they were bottom of the league by like a massive margin of at least 10 points..they were already all but relegated by boxing day...A Banker home victory, even for our sh*te team at that time right? Unbelievable to lose, it sunk to new depths.
bovril Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 What a few others said - the 4-3 to Wolves. And the 3-3 vs Boro the same season. I was listening on radio and when the third went in I just went and sat alone in a darkened room for about two hours. Those two still make me feel sick. More than any others.
49er Posted 26 February 2013 Posted 26 February 2013 Middlesborough away 03-04 season (3-3), Aston villa home 03-04 season (0-5) Harlow 79-80 season (0-1) Burton 12-13 league cup (4-2)

preacher Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 All mine in FACup. Harlow Away worst by a country mile. Followed by Walsall away live on TV and then Exeter.
Loggy88 Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Villa at home last time we were in prem was a stinker, lost 5-0. Wycombe was awful as well. I think stoke though when we went down was the worst. Never felt so depressed about footie before or since.
cc_star Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 7-1 defeat at Newcastle. The manager, think it was Brian Little said in his post-match interview "at least we drew the second half 1-1" I could have f###ing killed him when I saw that after I got all that way back from the game. 4-1 defeat at Ipswich on new years day. Had an unbelievable load of hassle getting there, ****ed up a car, missed the first half hour only to witness an absolute pile of shit. 0-0 draw at Stoke when we went down. Cardiff away 0-0 under Sven. They had two forwards missing through injury & were playing their only remaining forward... he got injured within about 15mins & had to play on injured or something they were there for the talking with one of the worst home performances they've probably ever put in and we did absolutely nothing other than tip-tap passing, never once played a forward pass... we were absolutely woeful, although I expect the 0-2 defeat at Brum & 0-3 home defeat to Millwall was worse, but I never saw that one.
steveherbe Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Portsmouth away 6-1 is easily the worst game ive ever been to. Agree Tom. I blame Georges dad for this, only game he's been to in 25 years, hasnt been since. Then again, I did wear the 'Mattock' shirt, which didnt help.

I was at the Newcastle game (was at Uni near there at the time). Can only vaguely recollect it but didn't Andy Cole score an hatful?

Corky Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Wycombe in the FA Cup. We were fantastically placed in the league, with a home quarter-final against a Division Two side. What a run-in it could've been. Top six and a possible final. Absolutely inexcusable what happened that day and subsequently after it.
Bob666 Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Worst in terms of gut renching: Stoke 0-0; Play off losses; etc In terms of performance/questioning loyalty: Charlton Away 2007/2008 season. We lost 2-0 with boring Megson in charge. I took my son trying to get him fully engaged with City & left embarrassed. Days of Carl Cort as striker.....quote from match report: For Leicester, Kishishev and Carl Cort tried their luck from long-range, but neither troubled Weaver in a lacklustre display which never threatened to derail Charlton's climb up the table.
mackiepas Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Wycombe FA Cup .. Roy Essendoh.. Signed him from the Internet because they didn't have enough players .. Scores the winner to knock us out and subsequently we lost the next.8 games in a row
