MikeyT Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Schmeichel; St. Ledger, Morgan ©, Keane, Schlupp; Wellens, Drinkwater, King; Nugent, Wood, Dyer. Subs: Whitbread, Marshall, Vardy, Logan, Waghorn, Knockaert, Kane.
Fox92 Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 4-3-3 then? Just wish we'd revert back to Knockaert and Marshall out wide. No good dropping them, then playing them, then dropping them etc
sdb Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Interesting. So many players out of form that I don't mind the one's being dropped. Wellens is controversial but could be what we need, and in a 3/5 man midfield. Fingers crossed. Christ this is huge.
ousefox Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Bizarre. Cardiff are the type of team our 4-4-2 works well against. Really surprised NP has gone for that team. Not gonna like it on here if we lose. First time i've disagreed with his team.
Unabomber Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Not really happy with that, I wanted Knockaert in the middle. At least the formation has been changed though.
KFS Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 That bench aside from Vardy and Waghorn actually looks decent, only because the normal mediocre players are filling their boots
StanSP Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 let's hope Nigel has really pulled one out of the bag tonight, starting Wellens.
absolutelegend Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 We needed a change. Let's hope this is a master stroke
Guest Bilo Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 One of those team selections that's either utter genius or idiotic, no in between. Guess we'll find out which in an hour or two.
Callabinho Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I can understand why wellens has been brought in by Nige, I would say it is ordinarily a good move. However Wellens looked so unfit and lacking match practice against Huddersfield it was unreal. It could be just what we need, or it could horribly backfire.
unreachable Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 3-5-2. With Schlupp and Dyer as wingbacks. That would be fun.
Kitchandro Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I'm not really sure how that works. Why have one winger on and not two? Why not have two up front?
Guest Bilo Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I remember us looking incredibly effective on the left at Hillsborough with Schlupp and Dyer on that side, no way was anyone outrunning those two. Could be aimed at undermining Cardiff's counter attacks?
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Told ya that Wellens would start. Pearson, in trouble, is turning to his tried and trusted. Lets hope it works..
Unabomber Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I dont understand, because it looks like it will be 433 but why not go 4 5 1 with 2 actual wingers instead of playing Nugent there.
MikeyT Posted 12 March 2013 Author Posted 12 March 2013 Let's face it, people would have moaned if it had been same side as last game and people will moan now he's changed the side a bit. Pearson is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 433 could work better with Dyer up there than it did with Kane. Bloody hope so.
