ScouseFox Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Neil has already won this. Sugar should just surprise us all by sacking them all except him next week.
kingfox Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 First time I've watched the show this series. Thought Kurt was a goner a couple of weeks ago tbh. Alex is hilarious though, what a guy.
NewburyFox Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Kurt had to go, he had a very poor week again when he really needed to prove himself. Neil and Alex are my favourites, Alex was unlucky to be taken into the boardroom today I thought and was never in risk of being fired. And well done Jason! He may be shit at many things but he did well in selling today.

StanSP Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 First time I don't disagree with the firings I think. Both weak on the task and had very little in terms of being able to back themselves up. Jason. What a man. Simultaneously grown to like him and dislike Leah.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I refuse to dislike Leah purely for those lips. Oh man, those lips.
StanSP Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I refuse to dislike Leah purely for those lips. Oh man, those lips. Work wise, she's gone down since the start. Non-work wise, she can also go down!
digitalalba Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 My final 8. 1st Myles. His background outshines the others. Alan hasn't found someone of his potential, most are simple bussiness workers. Alan wont always want that even if they prove the 'best', Tom is an example of that. Myles is calm under pressure, a reasonable seller, a thinker, a do-er and speaks very well. His obvious plus is what he's been doing for the last few years in Monaco, Alan will love that. 2nd Neil. He sure looks favourite at the moment. He's a no prisoner contestant, but he lacks a certain amount of compassion and fair play. His first few weeks were a bit hit and miss but he's showed massive improvement in the last 2 episodes and that will give him a real boost. A fantastic seller, will work all day and all night, but Alan already has many Neil's. 3. Louisa. By far the best female contestant. Not shone much but a quietly confident candidate. Decent seller and knows how to speak. Slight gamble picking her 3rd because we havn't seen her under pressure. 4. Alex. I call him Mr Illusion. He appears from nowhere at times and does something you don't expect. He's the kind of candidate you don't imagine is good enough, then he speaks and you realise you were wrong, not good enough to win though. 5. Jordon. A bit like Alex. He has his day, but there are too few. His best attributes are that he's calm and reasonably clever under pressure. He will be the weakest link at this point though which is a shame because he looks a nice chap. 6. Leah. Got alot of fight, can sell, but is pretty poor at communicating under pressure. Alan would not want to work alongside someone who cannot communicate to potential investors. I don't think she has the ability to change. 7. Jason. Looked gash in first few episodes and surely would've gone if in final 3, but he has shown improvement and Alan loves that. Ultimately though, he is up against a better bunch now and very soon he will end-up in the final 3 and that will be that. 8. Francesca. Looked ok first few weeks, but she looked awful last week and did she speak a word in last nights episode? She has some passion and is a decent seller, but when you're found wanting...can she gather herself?
Captain... Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Luisa 3rd? To be honest after miles and Neil it is pretty slim pickings. None of the girls have shown any ability whatsoever, the one I thought was the best female candidate was Rebecca. Jordan always seems to be hiding. Alex needs to actually deliver on something and he needs a dressing down as he is constantly moaning and gets quite aggressive and sulky. Other than the chair design he has done fvck all. Jason could pull something out the bag. It has been a poor crop though.
Kitchandro Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 What has Myles actually done? In every week he's looked out of his depth selling things and making big decisions. He doesn't strike me as a good leader either. I'll admit Neil has proved himself in making good deals, would hate for him to win though, he's too much of a cocky dickhead. There's something about Alex's personality that I like, he seems a bit of a go-getter and I think he's got some talent. He was unfairly blamed for hiding this week when he was clearly doing the opposite, he was desperate to be involved as we saw when he was annoyed at not being picked by Neil. I think he's still got something to prove but he's my dark horse, I think Sugar boy likes him. The rest aren't good enough. Luisa isn't terrible but she is just a bit annoying and stupid. Jordan and Leah have flattered to decieve and have faultered in recent weeks. Jason is living off his hilariousness really, he had a good week this time but the task was made for him. Old folks were right up his street. Francesca is just meh. Doesn't seem to do a lot, she might be more clever than she appears but she needs to show it soon. I've not seen anything to suggest she's a great candidate. Just a word for how much I'm beginning to despise Karren and Nick. Karren is just a stroppy fraud, and anyone who thinks moving West Ham to the Olympic Stadium is a good idea needs shooting. And Nick is a total cvnt, I'd heard about him trying to stitch people up in previous series, for example there were several complaints a few years back from candidates about him feeding them false information etc. And last night he was trying to land Neil in the shit with the 'eye-candy' comment, which was completely unfair and out of context. If I was Neil I would have laid into him then, but he's too much of a nice bloke I think, and he seemed to be increasingly losing fight, it's no surprise he went. I know it's an entertainment show but it was a low blow and not on IMO.

I know it's an entertainment show but it was a low blow and not on IMO. That eye candy comment was justified, I can't remember if he used that actual phrase, but that was indeed the implication. Myles has won one task as PM, and has generally looked to get involved, he saved the away day task with Neil, and this week was the first time he has ever been on the losing side. Neil is by far and away the best candidate though, and he has toned down his arrogance and cockiness. It is incredible that Alex hasn't project managed yet.

Yes he did use that phrase but that doesn't justify bringing it up to try and land him in the shit. He knew very well what he meant by it but he brought it up to try and a) embarrass him and b) undermine him in front of Sugar and the others.

Don't see a problem with it myself.
Parafox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 But that is why he is there. Don't see a problem with it myself. Nor do I. It could easily be construed as sexism. And Sugar sees the highlights of the tasks before he goes into the boardroom and is briefed ahead by production staff as well as the 2 stooges, so he would already have known what went on.

Only if you're being a dick about it and trying to make someone look a sexist when they're clearly not. A la Nick. He said he wanted Leah, the 'eye candy', to come over to help them sell. Seems perfectly non-sexist to me, a bit desperate maybe, but it made sense and is hardly some kind of offence or disrespect that Nick was trying to make out it was. It's not a secret that good looking women with charm can have an advantage when selling, in fact it's been happening clear as day throughout the whole series. Watch the previous episodes and you'll see some of the crap deals several blokes were suckered into by the ladies. But Nick tried to make it sound seedy and something to undermine him with. He brought it up for no other reason. These are the people who are always going on about how making money is the be all and end all, how you need to have a killer instinct, how you've got to be savvy and selfish and think outside the box, as long as you succeed make the money on the tasks. Only when it suits them though.
Captain... Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 He said it because Leah thought/was told she had been brought across because she was the best seller.
digitalalba Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Luisa 3rd? To be honest after miles and Neil it is pretty slim pickings. Theres a gap in the market after Luisa was caughty dealing drugs and was kicked off the x factor panel I did say she was a bit of a gamble. Its not miles, its myles,
StanSP Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Theres a gap in the market after Luisa was caughty dealing drugs and was kicked off the x factor panel I did say she was a bit of a gamble. Its not miles, its myles, It's actually kilometres.
Kitchandro Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 He said it because Leah thought/was told she had been brought across because she was the best seller. But he asked her that didn't he? He said 'why do you think you were brought over?' He knew what he was doing, trying to stir up something from nothing.
digitalalba Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 It's actually kilometres. ...how long did it take us to get to that
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 June 2013 Author Posted 14 June 2013 Just watched the episode from Tuesday- a double firing eh?! Both deservedly so. I still like Myles, and never actually disliked Neil either. Either to win and I'll be happy
Bettsj2 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 But he asked her that didn't he? He said 'why do you think you were brought over?' He knew what he was doing, trying to stir up something from nothing. I'm not sure Nick started out to insinuate that it was sexist, more that it was just a desperate, old fashioned sales tact as he had no ideas left. Kurt turned it into a sexism issue with the way he tried to defend it.
ealingfox Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Also just seen it. Both of them should have gone earlier, Kurt got away with dropping big clangers in consecutive weeks and as soon as he put himself forward for PM this week I thought he'd be going. Natalie was just piss-poor all round. When she said she'd have done well selling the campers because her background is in recruitment. Errr, what? Francesca could be a bit of a dark horse I think, she's seemed incompetent and a bit of a nothing candidate but that's what I thought about Stella English until the last couple of weeks. Francesca strikes a good balance between being the background and foreground in tasks.
