Rincewind Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 Thought the idea was to have a business plan that he'd be happy to invest in. One was not willing to be flexible, one had the plan without owning the business assuming Sugar would buy it for him and the other could not add up. I find it strange that the formats the same every series, the candidates know what Sugar wants yet most muck it up and do the opposite.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 Is there an Apprentice - After Dark programme where Leah and Luisa lez off in the back of that cab? shite, beaten to it.
Bettsj2 Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 shite, beaten to it. I've beaten my chimichanga to it. AWOOGA!
kingfox Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 Jordan was probably the most consistent, in terms of tasks and being on the winning side, but he fooked his chances up last week by talking shit, and talking even more shit this week. As soon as they said Neil's plan was crap, you knew it would be two of the girls. Francesca seemed weak in tasks, and quite clueless and I think she wouldn't cope that well. Luisa has the better and more realistic plan in my opinion, but she comes with the gob. While Leah, not sure about her business plan cosmetics, all botox shit not for me unfortunately, but then again she has worked herself up and seems more reliable.
SystonFox Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 Leah's business idea will make sugar more money and is more long term sustainable than what seems a fad fashion of selling fancy cup cakes. Therefore she will win. Leah for the win. She's only 24. She is incredible
ealingfox Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 God I'm gutted about that. Two of the most annoying people I have ever experienced and they're both in the final. Neil must be distraught. That boardroom scene Shugs practically told him he'd have won with a half-decent business plan.
MooseBreath Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 They really need to change the format back to offering a job. All those tasks are pointless if the best business plan wins regardless. Either that or cancel the show, which I suspect they might now after such a poor series and I expect poor viewing figures.

Either that or cancel the show, which I suspect they might now after such a poor series and I expect poor viewing figures. Unfortunately, regarding show cancellation, I fear that's what might happen. It was definitely more fun with the job offer. Neil's exit epitomises and simply just emphasises even more what the show has become now - you can ace more or less all of the tasks and be shot down at this stage. It begs the question that the whole 'process' is pointless. Why not just read through the business plans and skip straight through to this interview bit. Or at least check that all business plans have some viability and potential and then invite people to take part in the 'process'. Jordan's showing annoyed me more than anything though - he effectively stole a spot on the series for someone who could have had a better business plan and simply wanted 50/50 with Lord Sugar.
Rincewind Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 Why were the mistakes in the business plans seen before it got to the TV stage? Is one criteria at the beginning to be TV audience friendly. Would somebody with a good CV a well run business and a good plan for investment be too boring for TV. People like to see them cock up on TV and completely fail at the simplelist tasks. If they didn't Lord Sugar couldn't use his 'This was a complete disaster from start to finish.' With not seeing it this series I had not really realised that it had changed to 'a business plan' The 'job' was better because some tasks would show leadership and team players. Being a business formate made it more like a Dragons Den idea.

I think this is the way to go. The way Neil and Jordan got fired really shouldn't have happened. But the people who make the show aren't bothered, they just want a bit of drama. I get the feeling that Sugar decided he wanted it to be a business plan instead of a job. He's got enough apprentices and I think the process seemed a bit pointless to him, investing in a business is probably more of use to him. I can't see it getting cancelled, it's probably the BBC's best show that's not sport.
Parafox Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 I think the production team knew about Jordans non-business and kept him to the end simply for the dramatic effect of the final interviews. I also think Sugar and his cronies knew about it. Somebody must've checked all the candidates plans, surely?
Ross-Kemp Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 Sugar was gutted about Neil but he just wouldn't listen and his plan was poor. Jordan is a moron and deserved a slap, offering 15.9% of a business for £25k when he owns no part of it, idiot. Luisa makes money, 3 companies with massive turnover, although Leah's idea has legs, will be a good final I think.

I'm not sure what Neil could do once he was in that situation. He's already put loads of work into the idea and truly believed in it. I'm not sure he would had the option to think of another business plan at that point so his only option was to stick to his guns and try to convince them that with sheer will he would make it work.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 July 2013 Author Posted 11 July 2013 What this new format boils down to is 10 weeks of the candidates working bloody hard to then sell their business plan to Sugar. Why not just go on dragons den?

The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 July 2013 Author Posted 11 July 2013 Nobody watches Dragon's Den, that's why. A chinky whilst watching Dragon's Den and Top Gear used to make my Sunday night. Perhaps I'm sad!
Rincewind Posted 11 July 2013 Posted 11 July 2013 Sugar saw Dragons Den and said I can do that but better and I have more money than you dragons and better looking.
