Chazwaz Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Rob Tanner â€@RobTannerMerc5m Good news for LCFC. Sources say Kasper is going nowhere. Would take a ridiculous bid to change City's minds. More in tomorrow's Merc #LCFC
Kitchandro Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Were people saying he was shit when he... 1) Made 47 appearances when they got promoted. 2) Made 38 appearances they stayed up the first time 3) Made 31 appearances when they stayed up the second time Or is just just since they have been ridiculously mismanaged from top to bottom that he became shit and a footballing leper? No people weren't saying he was shit because we weren't linked with him. People were saying he was shit in the season we've just had though. In which I'm sure he made a similar amount of appearances. Why are you going over old ground anyway? We've just acknowledged that being in a premiership side or promoted side or relegated side isn't the be all and end all. You can say they were mismanaged but that doesn't prove their players are any good does it? They hardly set the world alight in the prem, they were a drab, crap team who were involved in relegation battles in all 3 years. Just because other teams were crapper doesn't mean they were any good. Their best player left and it has been clear they're not that good. No not all of their players are crap, Sako for example has impressed. But nobody has ever said 'what about that Carl Henry, lets get him in, he was Wolves' shining light'. Why do think that is? COuld it be because he's not very good? Because you don't get relegated with a squad full of quality championship players. So, no thanks, he probably is just pretty shit.
Kitchandro Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 No, can you read? I didn't say that did I. Wolves fans are hardly going to be glowing about any of their players are they, they have just been relegated twice. That doesn't mean a players who has done well for them in the past can't again with the right management. I find it amazing that you of all people are on here spouting the same stuff you did about Morgan. He's been shit, they have been relegated, too slow, too clumbsy yadda yadda yadda. Just as I pointed out to you then that Morgan HAD played well for Forest previously, HAD won player of the year, HAD been in team of the year, a bad couple of years for that club does not instantly make him shit and beyond hope. Just remember the useless, hopeless lump you wrote off has just won player of the year comfortably. Forest weren't relegated I still maintain that Morgan was shit when I saw him for Forest. My opinion hasnt changed, I formed a view based on what I'd seen from him before. Then again, I should point out, passing the ball is less important for a centre back than it is for a midfielder.
hackneyfox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 ? Because you don't get relegated with a squad full of quality championship players. We did, well the squad wasn't full of quality but it was good enough to get us straight back the following season.
hackneyfox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I still maintain that Morgan was shit when I saw him for Forest. My opinion hasnt changed, I formed a view based on what I'd seen from him before. Spot on, I think most people thought we'd signed a poor player. He looked great and deserved POS last season but there were a few mistakes creeping in towards the end, I'm hoping for a return to full form next season.
Kitchandro Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 We did, well the squad wasn't full of quality but it was good enough to get us straight back the following season. The squad was crap, we had some ok players, but the majority were shit, nothing players. We arguably could and maybe should have stayed up with it, but we definitely didn't have the quality we're looking for now, which is what context I'm talking about.

I'm not impresed with any of the players currently linked with us, they all seem to bang average players that can play in a couple of positions. We definitely need to bringing in quality players who are better than we currently have, Upson is but the rest I'm not bothered about.

Forest weren't relegated? They had been with him in the team, he made 51 appearances in their relegation season to league one. Or perhaps you just hadn't seen him that much. Seeing as Forest reached the play offs several seasons running and he'd been in the Championship team of the year 2010/2011.

Or perhaps you just hadn't seen him that much. Seeing as Forest reached the play offs several seasons running and he'd been in the Championship team of the year 2010/2011. No I didn't see him week in week out for Forest, but I still had my judgement based on what I saw of him (which was a good few games). It turns out I was wrong to question his signing, I admit that. They were relegated in 2005 weren't they? So that's 6 and half years before he was about to sign for us. I don't remember many people talking about relegation anyway, I just remember people saying he's always looked like a fat useless turd for them etc. Anyway, I'm not sure what you're arguing here. This is a fans forum and people will make a judgement on potential signings, that's what this sub-forum is for. Everytime I've seen Henry he's looked like a useless thug, other people obviously agree with me. He's in a side who have been relegation battlers for the last 4 years, he's the wrong side of 30, and to top it off, Wolves fans think he's shit. And they do watch him week in week out. So what's your argument, that he was promoted with them 5 years ago? Is that it?
lcfcsnow Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 It won't happen anyway, you're all going by a tweet by some random bloke who's entertaining himself guessing transfers, he has no idea. The only chance this would happen is if it was 2004 reincarnated and Micky Adams was back going round signing any over 30s going for free. Remember Scot Gemmil

Fox92 Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I want him and Carlton Cole to sign for us. 1.They are both ****ing shit. 2.They are black. I want Carlton Cole to sign! Great player at this level. Was impressed with him during both of our games against West Ham the other season. Held the ball up so well.
Wortho Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Henry is an awful player, we should give him a wide birth.
Babylon Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Anyway, I'm not sure what you're arguing here. This is a fans forum and people will make a judgement on potential signings, that's what this sub-forum is for. Sorry I didn't realise only negative opinions were allowed here!!!
ealingfox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Could it be that Morgan wasn't all that, and NP has merely coached him to his full potential? He certainly wasn't being widely acknowledged as one of, probably the best CB in the Championship at Forest. Round of applause for NP on that one as far as I'm concerned.
hackneyfox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Agreed, the only worry now is whether this was a one off season as I mentioned earlier there were a few mistakes slipping in towards the end of the season but probably down to having Keane next to him.

Oh come off it, I thought it was common knowledge that Pearson can't coach? The idea that a player might actually improve under Pearson is truly ridiculous. I mean look at Ben Marshall, he's had a bad season therefore Pearson can't coach. It's the only logical conclusion!

I'm sure Nigel has had a good effect on Wes amd has improved him (looks like he's lost weight) but he has previously been voted into the championship team of the year so he was already regarded as a very good championship centre back. I wouldn't want Henry here, poor footballer.
Kitchandro Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Sorry I didn't realise only negative opinions were allowed here!!! It's honest opinions, you seem to have a problem with people's negative views on a player without really arguing why you think he'd be a good signing.

Good news re KS. And the "ridiculous bid" piece, too !
